Learn new stitches and improve the look of your projects with a teacher that enjoys knitting.

Self-taught knitter with experience and patience. Ability to teach beginner* through advanced, with various tools - double pointed, circular or single-pointed needles, from dishcloths to socks to afghans and sweaters. Tutoring includes information on yarn and knitting tool selection. Also state certified to teach high school students and possess natural teaching style. Students should be able to cast-on, knit and purl (knitting) and/or make a slip knot, chain and single crochet stitch (crochet) before registering for lessons.

Hi! Knitting and crocheting can be relaxing to create, as well as rewarding to make something for yourself or a loved one to enjoy. Prospective students will know basic slip knot, chain and single crochet stitches for crocheting, or a cast-on method, basic knit & purl stitches for knitting before our first class meeting.. Whether you want to learn new stitches and techniques, get a little assistance reading & interpreting patterns, I can give you a lot of information, introduce you to a variety of techniques, and help you create crochet or knit art. Bring a can-do attitude and an open mind to explore your abilities and we'll have some fun knitting and crocheting together.

Barbara was prepared for all my questions. I am now starting a lap afghan, which is really what I want to make. She gave me several options on how to proceed, and I learned a lot in our first lesson! Look forward to class next week! She's an excellent teacher!
