I am a former classroom music teacher, with an MA in Music Education, and I have been a working musician/recording artist for 30 years. I am patient and experienced in getting results. I believe the recipe for music education is Knowledge, Practice, and Fun = Joy. Spreading joy is a valuable service for good community.

I can help every student achieve his or her goals, whether it's to lead a campfire circle or play Carnegie Hall someday. (One of my students opened for B.B. King, and most of my students will play music for the rest of their lives. Some have grown to lead their own bands.)
I offer lessons in:
Guitar: All styles: Beginner to Advanced.
Piano, voice, ukulele, saxophone, and recording: Beginner to Intermediate.

Singing is closer to me than any other instrument. The downside of that is you can feel everything, both good and bad. With students,I always seek the key to unlocking the best singing experience

~With advanced students I coach for technical mastery and deep musical sensitivity

My singing lessons are unique because I combine technique with performance, as they are both extremely important and inclusive of the other. I am aware of all genres of music and especially what is current at the moment. I am currently graduating from Berklee College of Music and I attended the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami for three years as a Music Business major with a minor in Contemporary Songwriting. I am a songwriter as well so I am very open and encouraging of students bringing in their own songs, as well as willing to help them with writing. I currently perform, record, and songwrite myself so my students can have a live example of what it means to be a young independent artist in the music business today. Aside from music, I also have been training in film acting and video editing -- all further creative forms of expression that I am here to answer questions for.

As a voice instructor with over 20 years experience in the private studio, college environment, church ministry, high school chorus master teacher, and as a free-lance performer, I understand that each student requires tools and techniques unique to their needs to grow and improve. Focusing on the basics of breath control, efficient support, and healthy vocal production, my gift of hearing and assessing each student's strengths and weaknesses allows me to create lessons catered to each singer's specific needs.

With a Master of Music in vocal performance from Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University, an appreciation of various styles of music, and my personal investment in each individual singer, I am able to successfully share my knowledge of the vocal instrument and my love of music with my students.
