Each lesson is tailored to fit each individual student. We will cover genres of music that is of interest to you, using music you enjoy most so learning the guitar will be fun. Even if you have experience playing guitar, I will be able to show you alternative strum patterns, picking patterns, useful techniques, tricks and short-cuts to make playing easier. This applies to whether you are learning acoustic, classical or electric guitar. I have a blast teaching and my students have fun learning!

The guitar is a versatile instrument, with a variety of styles ranging from acoustic pop to heavy rock guitar solos. My background in classical guitar as well as being a guitarist in rock bands allow me to introduce the guitar to a student in many different styles and techniques. I've been playing guitar for 17 years and teaching for 8. In my teaching experiences so far, my students have gone from little or absolutely no experience, to playing their favorite songs in just a few short weeks. I will work with you to set goals and will customize lessons to work toward accomplishing them.

With years of professional touring/gigging experience (both as sideman and band leader) under his belt, as well as having worked as guitar/bass/jazz band teacher at Nevada City School of the Arts, Ananda is able to hold both of these aspects with ease. He works with all ages/levels and brings a comprehensive background of experience, both as teacher and performer, to the table.
