"Being an active modern musician who takes International stages, my experiences have kept me centered amongst the trends, scenes and happenings to new music." My experiences have been far-reaching . I was trained formally as a concertise of the classical guitar. I studied at the Cleveland Music School Settlement and at the Cleveland State University before my sojourn to Vienna, Austria where I was accepted as a student at the Academie for Music and Performing Arts, arriving there at the age of 19, becoming a protege of Luise Walker-Hesjek. I have been a teacher of guitar since my High School days. I am a formidable teacher of the concert classical guitar and also am an excellent educator of blues and jazz music. Besides the guitar, I also instruct electric bass guitar, offer vocal coaching (including solfeggio), song writing, composition and harmony studies. Also, I instruct beginning violin. My experiences around master musicians and artists have given me many exceptional insights into the experience of music. And I would enjoy to share my learning with you! *** Lesson Details *** Greetings! I am very glad to be on the Take Lessons team! I promise that all my students will find my class atmosphere to be both exciting and rewarding! Each one will grow their enthusiasm for music and a love for their chosen instrument of study. Under my watchful coaching style, my students will acquire the skills they are looking for to enjoy a lifetime of music making! I have been teaching for more than 20 years. Being a parent myself, I feel that I have a great feel to teach the younger student and I also can be a fun teacher for teens! And, of course, no problem for "all thumbs" adults (LOL!) We will cover all the basis...Correct sitting and holding positions...finger and hand excercises....learning to read...NOT TABS!!....basic chords...basic scales...learning your favorite songs...getting into learning your favorite styles of music....and for those who want it, harmony studies, song writing techniques and more! For the singers, I cover healthy care of your voice, breathing techniques, creating a powerful resonance, learning about your physical body as an instrument, learning to read notes, learning basic piano so that the student has a tool reference with which to practice to and, of course, learning your favorite songs! So, in all, you are sure to share in my experiences as I will dedicate my best efforts to give to you a wonderful opportunity to love music more! Sincerely yours! Learn from a Living Legend Since the very first lesson, Mr.Davis has taught clearly in a way that I'm able to quickly pickup and understand. Specifically, music theory; an area that has baffled me since my early piano and violin days as a child. I am sure that if I had a music teacher at that time who could make the language of music as clear as Mr.Davis has, that I would be a more confident musician. Along with his vast knowledge of musical genres and instruments- and as a living legend himself- this makes for a highly qualified instructor that one should jump at the chance to work with. Also, Mr. Davis is flexible and accomodating with schedules, etc. You can't go wrong here!

He is very patient with my daughter and takes his time showing her how to play the violin. He makes it interesting for her each and every week and he is flexible with time. Couldn't be paired with a better teacher for my high strung and energetic 7 year old.

On Davis' knowledge of electric guitar in both theory and practice is commendable. For me, On's teaching skills, patience and ability to analyze the strengths as well as the weak points of his student make learning music such a pleasant experience.
