Guitar with Emmanuel T.

I have 2 years of classroom experience teaching beginning students to quickly learn how to play the guitar. I have been playing the guitar for over 20 years, have experience performing classical and rock music, and have the ability to teach children, teens, and adults how to read music for the guitar. I continuously seek alternate ways to explain the language of music and I add to the knowledge I've gained through several guitar and music theory courses I've taken at the University of Hawaii. *** Lesson Details *** In learning the guitar in a one on one environment, you will be able to learn how to understand your instrument and learn the language of music at your own pace. You will learn the basics of reading music and the necessary musical resources to be able to play classical, contemporary, and/or popular music. I will be able to cater to the necessary components that you'll need to play in whatever objective or setting that you desire, whether it is the desire for continued personal knowledge; to be able to perform in a club, at a party, or other social setting; to confidently freestyle with other musicians; the choice is yours. In a few months, you'll learn all the open chords, be able to transition between chords timely, have confidence in learning and playing bar chords, and will have gained basic knowledge of reading music for the guitar. After 6 months, you will recognize patterns for chords and the relationships between 2 or more notes that will lead you to freestyle (creating or mimicking melodies with accompaniment) through the guitar. *** Travel Equipment *** I have an electronic tuner and classical guitar. I expect the student to at least have a guitar and amp (if needed for the guitar) of their own.
