Learning a few simple chords or patterns can quickly lead to extremely satisfying results, yet ask even the most accomplished players, and they’ll tell you they’re still learning… My name is Brian. I've been a professional musician and educator for over 20 years teaching both guitar and bass. I've been fortunate enough to play with (and learned from) some of the finest musicians around, and I look forward to sharing that knowledge with you. My goal as a teacher is to help you get to where you want to be in the shortest amount of time possible. Let me help you on your journey and let's uncover your inner musical genius! *** Lesson Details *** Every student is unique. Preparing an 8 year old to be the next great guitar prodigy requires a completely different approach than helping a recent retiree finally fulfill his dream of getting that blues band together. As such, I don't have a set curriculum. My first job as a teacher is to find out what your goals are, and then develop a plan to get you there ASAP. Blues, Jazz, Rock, Funk, R&B, Metal, Country, Latin or all of the above - whatever style most appeals to you is what we will be focusing on while also learning proper technique, ear training, reading, improvisation, and the theory necessary to tie it all together. I believe the best way to learn music is to have fun with it - that's what keeps you engaged and coming back for more! I provide and nurturing and motivational environment to inspire and cultivate your musical growth. You've got the dreams - let's make the reality! *** Travel Equipment *** I will bring my guitar or bass (and amp) and I expect student to have the same. *** Specialties *** *Teachers marked as a Student Favorite have taught a minimum of 25 lessons and have received the highest feedback rating from students.As I've taught students from 5 years old to retirees (who refused to give their age!), I've found that every student is different and thus so is the approach in teaching them. My goal is to first find out the students goals and build a curriculum around achieving that goal asap.
