Kelly P.

Winter Haven, FL

About Kelly

I teach at a pace that the student learns while challenging them. I graduated Cum Laude from The Baptist College of Florida with my Bachelor's in Music Education. I graduated with Honors from Polk Community College. *** Lesson Details *** I can be strict but mostly laid back. I use the Essential Elements 2000 for Strings curriculum with a mix of Suzuki Method. After 3-6 months you will have learned the parts of the instrument, note names, a few scales and bow technique. I start by teaching the instrument and note names and fingerings to them then pitches and bowing. *** Studio Equipment *** I will provide a stand to use and keyboard to hear pitches. *** Travel Equipment *** I expect them to have the books, stand, instrument, rosin, stand for home practice and tuner/metronome. ***

Excellent Teacher.

I'm an experienced player, so I can't exactly say that he'd be good for someone who's just picking up a guitar. But he does an excellent job teaching technicality and musicality, which is something that many teachers lack these days. When I looked for a teacher I wanted someone who would help me better myself as a musician in a style I wasn't very familiar with. By musician, I mean someone who is not only technically proficient, but also very musical and a very good interpreter of music. So far he's helped me a lot in all of those aspects, while managing to keep a comfortable learning pace. I'd recommend him to anyone who really wants to push themselves musically.

Wonderful Teacher

Best instructor ever! Very patient, and has an instinctive ability to understand how a student best learns, and focuses on that style, thus producing results I never dreamed I could accomplish. It is a joy to work with Andre.

My 10 y/o daughter is taking online piano lessons with Bonnie and we couldn't be more pleased! Prior to Bonnie, she has taken lessons off and on since she was 5 and never really got into them. She dreaded practicing, and didn't really like her teacher. Bonnie is so sweet and patient with her. Every little step forward gets praise from Bonnie. My daughter is learning all kids of new stuff. She practices almost everyday, and without me telling her to. I was worried about online lessons for piano, but it doesn't seem to interfere with the teaching/learning process. Glad to have found TakeLessons and more importantly, Bonnie!

However, I have learned how to handle criticism and continued to make music that makes me happy.
