Kay is very knowledgeable, kind and accommodating. She is very encouraging and never makes me feel dumb when I hit a sour note. (As a beginning beginner, that happens a lot!) I am amazed at how much I have learned in such a short time!

Chris has been great with my middle school band student teaching/coaching the fundamentals and making trumpet fun again. My kiddo looked forward to his weekly lessons and enjoys band again! His confidence level while playing has soared. Definitely recommend.

Chris is kind and patient. He is not a French horn player, but is able to teach the basic components. He discusses the form of playing a lot. My daughter has enjoyed learning from him.

Fantastic Experience!

As a colleague of Chris' I can heartily recommend his teaching to any trombonists wishing to hone their skills as musicians. Chris focuses on the individual needs of each student, working to tailor his lessons to meet their specific needs and face their unique challenges. His attention to detail and patience helps each student build a strong foundation in musicality and fantastic brass playing. I recommend him highly as both a superb educator and performer!

My name is Jerry. I LOVE music and passing my knowledge on to others. I have played many different instruments in many different kinds of bands. It all one major thing in common, it was FUN! If you are not having fun while learning an instrument you won't want to learn. Lessons can be fun AND educational at the same time. I have had many parents tell me I'm one of the best teachers they have ever seen. (A couple of them were public school teachers themselves). I truly want my students to succeed and I will do everything in my power to help them accomplish that!

Extremely unprofessional to abruptly cancel scheduled/paid lessons without the courtesy of a message or any notice because this instructor was unhappy with a 12-year-old child's progress. Very surprised by and disappointed in the manner in which he handled this situation, certainly could have been handled with more respect and maturity.

Jerry is a wonderful instructor. I wasn’t sure how online lessons would go but they have been seamless and fun and my son is making progress with the bugle. I would highly recommend this format and this teacher. The convenience and quality of instruction are excellent. We are signing up for more lessons and may move on to another instrument once my son feels confident on the bugle.

Hello and welcome to my studio!

Your first lesson begins with breathing exercises as we need air to play trumpet. Proper posture, embouchure, and making a nice sound will come next. And later we will work on the more intricate aspects of trumpet playing such as articulations and range, while learning new songs!

If you are already familiar with the basics of playing trumpet, we will work on the specific areas you want to work on.

I'm glad you have decided to take trumpet lessons and look forward to helping you make great music! So what are you waiting for? Let's get started!

About Andrew

As a teacher, I want nothing more than my students to be happy playing music while attaining their goals. I started trumpet as a young elementary schooler and began teaching private lessons in 2013. I had very poor technique up through high school but landed a jazz performance major in colleg

My daughter is 11 yrs old. She self learnt trumpet and was playing with her friends. She was playing flat and was a bit loud. I realized she needed some training and found Andrew. In four weeks I noticed a good improvement. Andrew is really good.

I happen to play with Andrew in a local Jazz ensemble. He is the solo chair and I Play lead trumpet. I have been playing with Andrew for a year or 2 and he is an OUTSTANDING player! His solo’s are some of the best I have heard in my 45 years playing. He takes his playing seriously and I have every confidence his teaching skills on the trumpet are top notch also! I would highly recommend him to anyone who wants to get better at playing the trumpet!
Parent
Andrew has been wonderful. My son started lessons with Andrew in our home and easily transitioned to on-line this spring. He’s punctual every time regardless of method. I appreciate his flexibility and understanding as sometime things do come up. During the closures due to Covid, it was nice to keep some level of normalcy knowing that the trumpet lesson would always continue. My son feels more confident with his music and we hear an improvement!

"Caleb has been teaching my son trumpet for the past 4 years. He is a very talented teacher who is musically gifted, as well as patient and kind.

Loving music and playing trumpet has enriched my son's life, both socially and emotionally. He is currently first chair in his middle school band and plans to pursue band in high school. His pleasure in playing with his peers and his pride in his accomplishments are wonderful to see. Last year, he played "New York, New York" as part of a three piece band at a school event and in March 2017, he will play the entire score of the Lion King with the pit orchestra for the 8th grade play.

But the best part as a parent is seeing that he often walks around the house humming a random tune under his breath, even when he isn't aware of it. It makes me smile to see him be so happy!

Thank you, Caleb!"

"My jazz instructor in High School led me to Bobby three years ago. He taught me a lot of things about playing the trumpet and greatly increased my ability as a trumpet player. He is very, and inspired me to want to get better at playing through encouragement and his high quality playing. Every lesson is very personal and fun. I know that sounds cheesy, but I looked forward to every lesson I had with Bobby. Bobby is a very skilled player, and unlike many great players, he can teach just as well as he can play. Bobby and I also spent a lot of time talking about Jazz theory. I am now fairly knowledgeable about theory, one of the best in my school, and I learned it all from Bobby. If you take lessons with Bobby your trumpet skills will vastly improve, and if you want to learn jazz, Bobby teaches jazz theory as well as he teaches trumpet, if not better. The last thing I have to say is something that Bobby told me at our very first lesson, "we will both learn from each other, you will learn trumpet and jazz skills, and I will learn how to effectively teach you." Every lesson with Bobby is extremely personal, and he is constantly improving his already great teaching skills."
