I teach a chordal approach, and cover all of the possible picking patterns

About Gabriel
I graduated with a BA in jazz studies from Columbia in 2007 and have been teaching since 2005. I have played in many different projects, covering many styles including Rock, Jazz, Latin, Hip hop, classical, orchestral, and country. So, I have a strong understanding on the specifics of each of these styles, and a big part of my lesson plan is to teach my students to be as versatile as possible. Hence they have many options as far as playing music. I also play a wide variety of instruments including Piano, Latin Percussion, Mallets, Drum set, Guitar, and bass, so if at any point a student has an interest in trying something different t they have many options.

*** Lesson Details ***
Gabriel has been drumming professionally for nearly a decade, and teaching for seven years. In 2007 Gabriel received his BA in Jazz Studies/percussion pe
rformance from Columbia college Chicago, where he studied Drumset with Chicago legend Tom Hipskind, conga virtuoso's Rubin Alverez, and Giovanni Hildalgo, and studio vibraphonist Rick Embach. Gabriel has a high success rate with his students including the winner of the "Heat Strokes" drum competition 2007, Joey Handley. Gabriel's method of teaching is relaxed, yet enthusiastic he strives for making even the most complex musical ideas as simple as possible, and overall making learning fun.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Music, Music Stands, Acoustic Piano, Keyboard, Fender Rhodes, Drum Set, Hand Drums, Guitars, Bass, metronome, amps, computer and more!

About Rachel
I started my musical path in a Ballet Studio. I fell in love with the crackle of the vinyl record playing as I learned to listen and dance with the rhythm.

I started playing the guitar when I was in elementary and took classical lessons until I was a teenager.I really enjoy the art of practice and the journey of patience. The process of learning has helped me carve out and cultivate my style of music. It's opened up a lot of doors for me in my life. I've had the honor to play with a lot of great performers and have been lucky enough to tour the U.S. and Canada with festivals and showcases such as Vans Warped Tour, South By Southwest and the Halifax Pop Explosion.I've been the opening act for Carolyn Wonderland, Maria Taylor, Tsunami Bomb, Tilly and the Wall, Basia Bulat, Rise Against, Strike Anywhere. Anathallo, Cursive, Milton Hopki
ns, and Pony Up.

When I have free time I volunteer with the Houston Chapter of Girls Rock Camp to help teach girls empowerment through songwriting and music.

I began teaching as an afterschool job when I was 16. I was homeschooled, so I feel that the experience taught me that everyone learns differently and that there is not just one standardized method to playing music.

My teaching style varies with each student, but the one constant is my ability to make each and every client I encounter completely fall in LOVE with music. It's my super power.

Lesson plans are tailored for your specific needs and to help you achieve your musical goals and aspirations at your desired pace. I enjoy my students and making music with them.

Here is an overview of the lessons that I provide.

Guitar:
Finger Picking, Song Writing, Rhythm, Lead, Scales,Modes & Ear Training.

Songwriting and composition: Learn techniques, how to brain storm and plot your musical story line. This class pairs great with vocal lessons or guitar lessons.

Bass:

Rachel is the best guitar teacher I have ever had...period...EVER! Her easy going method allows me to learn just enough as a beginner to enjoy and then move on to the next lesson. We are not concerned with learning lengthy songs or long, drawn, out scales as I am only a beginner! But at the same time we are not learning row-row-row-your boat. I am learning chords, arpeggios, hammer-ons, lite theory, and all at a very short easy pace which is what I want. Five stars for her as a teacher by far!!!

This is the style of music I earned my Bachelor's degree. Teach all levels to improve a student's technique and knowledge of the beautiful genre.

About David
A fun, friendly, and professional Music Instructor at your service for Voice, Guitar, Piano, Bass, Drums, & Ukulele! I have a BA degree from Florida Atlantic University in Music Performance for Classical/Flamenco/Jazz/Blues guitar and I've also performed on the Piano/Keyboards for a couple different bands too. Love to play & teach pretty much all styles of music! It is always a pure joy & truly rewarding to see my music students grow and flourish in their musical abilities. I have been enjoying doing this now for 20+ years- all ages & levels. I am also in a multi-dimensional rock project and a recording artist with my band Vision.

I believe it's important to learn the rudiments of music to build a good foundation (scales, chord vocabulary, theory, song-composition, performing techniques), but I also base the lessons on whatever th
e interests and strengths are for the student. For example, if you enjoy jazz more than classical we'll focus more on what you are particularly passionate about. I have also been a part of School of Rock Programs in which we provided performances for the students a la Jack Black. Please contact Takelessons to let the musical journey begin...

After 20 years of playing and a BA in Music, I know how to break down the guitar and teach it to anyone willing to learn. I take the 80/20 approach to learning guitar and will get you up and playing in no time. If you are tired of trying to figure out how to learn guitar online or you feel stuck at your current level, then I can show you the most effective and efficient way to get your playing to the next level. Lessons will teach you the following:

* songs you actually want to play
* how to read music and guitar tablature
* music theory tailored to suit your needs
* composition and improvisation
* performance practices and music history
* how to play solo pieces and jam with your friends

About Justin
Like most guitarists, I had always wanted to play the guitar as a little kid. Luckily, my parents finally caved to the request (ok ok, incessant begging) and I began my guitar journey at the age of 11. After now 20 years of playing and 12 years of teaching, I am excited to share my experience and thoughts about how to learn music and guitar.

My journey with the guitar has taken me from the electric rock of Jimi Hendrix, to the shredding of Joe Satriani, then the otherworldly sounds and speed of Al di Meola, and, finally, to the broad world of classical guitar, Flamenco and world music. Over the years, I have compiled a set of skills, techniques, and theories from all corners of the musical globe to help teach students the fastest path to guitar mastery. My goal is to show you how to master the fundamental skills of guitar in order to
play in any style and ultimately create your own music.

I am learning classical guitar and jazz guitar with him and I am delighted with the progress I've made in just a few months. I am playing beautiful songs and before his lessons I could not play any classical guitar songs at all. Justin tailors the lessons to help me learn the songs I am excited about learning to play. I most highly recommend him as a teacher for any style guitar. Amazingly he also teaches ukulele and mandolin too! Do you want to learn how to SHRED? I've been teaching online and private lessons for over 30 years; students of all ages, levels & styles. I have a bachelor's degree in music with a special emphasis on guitar and music theory, and I've toured the world with an international metal band (Manowar). I'm a super-shred guitar virtuoso, so I can help you if you want to learn how to SHRED (which a small percentage of teachers are able to teach). I am also very good with beginners, and students of all ages! Through my extensive teaching experience, I have developed a teaching style which caters to each student, helping them meet their specific musical goals, while at the same time, having a lot of fun!

About David
I’m a professional guitarist, songwriter, and recording artist, respected by my peers and the industry as one of the top 10 shredders and fastest guitarists in the world. I’m well-known for playing 7-string over-the-neck scales and arpeggios, string skipping, and mastering many guitar techniques. This expertise has brought me many high-level guitar students from around the world, while I am still also very successful teaching beginner guitarists of all ages.

I was a member of the metal band Manowar from 1988 to 1995, playing on the epic, certified double-platinum album “The Triumph of Steel” and co-writing 5 songs on that record. I toured all over the world during those years, regularly performing to crowds of 10,000+, in over 50 countries. In later years, I played in front of some of the biggest rock and metal crowds all over the w
orld, including 70,000+ people at Earthshaker Fest 2005 and 40,000+ people with my own band DSG at the First Annual Magic Circle Festival in 2007.

I set out on my own from Manowar in 1995 and attended Roosevelt Music University in Chicago to further my guitar studies. I graduated with a Bachelor of Music specializing in jazz and classical guitar, music theory, and composition.

I continue to record and perform live all over the globe. I have recorded and appear on over 26 CDs as a guest solo guitarist, and there’s more to come. Even before my days as lead guitarist of Manowar, I had already received numerous accolades. My technique and blistering speed on the guitar won for me the moniker “The Shred Demon”. Such revered artists as Michael Angelo Batio, Joe Stump, Rusty Cooley, George Bellas, Uli Jon Roth and Tom Hess have testified. George Bellas has said, “DSG should stand for Dangerous Speed Guitar”.

My playing styles vary from classical to shred metal and everything in between. I teach the beginner to the advanced/master student, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, classical, and bass guitar, in various genres ranging from classical to metal to country to neo-classical. With 40+ years of playing professionally, and 30+ years of teaching, I use my expertise to cut off the fat and get down to the quickest ways for my students to become better players, allowing my students to excel at a faster pace. I look forward to taking YOUR playing to the next level in the shortest amount of time, and we can have a lot of fun in the process!

Ive been taking lessons from David for about a year. He is very versatile... everything from Blues, Classical, Rock and of course Metal. I've been playing for years, but decided to go to him to learn to solo better. He is great with beginners, from kids to experienced guitarists. He is absolutely the fastest guitarist I have ever seen, especially sweep picking. But, when he slows things down, he has tons of tone and feel, and I have learned a lot about that just by watching him play. He is educated in music, and has much experience from a life, as far as I can tell, dedicated to music. He truly seems to care about your playing, and seems to enjoy developing students into better players.

Not only will you be playing songs in no time, but you will be building a strong foundation of note reading, music theory, ear training, sight reading, technique, and more. Let's get started!

About Alan
I am classical guitarist, electric guitarist, educator, and composer. I have studied the electric guitar for the past 15 years and I have studied the classical guitar for past 6 years. I have graduated from McNally Smith College of Music with a Bachelor of Music in guitar performance. I am currently pursuing a Master of Music in guitar performance at the University of Southern California where I study privately with Scott Tennant, and have additionally received instruction from Pepe Romero, William Kanengiser, and Brian Head.

I design my curriculum based on the student’s goals and interests as a music student. I understand that everyone’s goals are different, and I am ready to help you reach yours whether you are an aspiring professional, or just playing for the enjoyment of music. Coming from a self-taught music background (ages 13-22)
