Vania is an excellent Spanish instructor

I've taken many Spanish lessons that have ranged from various software programs to personal tutors. Vania is great. She knows how to relate with each person in order to convey concepts. She's the best I have worked with.

She's also very accommodating, since I tend to change my schedule around a lot. She is always flexible to accommodate. Vania is simply great.

An international performing artist, Rebecca has most recently performed in 2016 with the Etruria Opera Festival in Viterbo, Italy as the title role in Suor Angelica of Puccin and First Lady in Die Zauberflote of Mozart. She has been a featured artist at the Tuscia Opera Festival in Italy from 2009 to 2016 as well as performing recitals and concerts in the Southern California area. In November of 2014 Rebecca organized and performed in the Suor Angelica Project, a fundrasier for the San Diego Opera. This collaboration with the San Diego Symphony and members of the San Diego Opera Chorus raised over $7500 for the Opera.

Since 2009. Rebecca is on the faculty of the International Lyric Academy of Rome and Viterbo, teaching voice and Italian lessons to the American students who come over to participate and learn. She has also sung concerts
and recitals in New York City, London, Edinburgh, and various cities in Italy as well as locally here in California and Florida. Rebecca received her Bachelor in Music degree from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. She is a student in the online Masters program for Music Education at the University of Florida, Gainesville. She has also studied at the Universita per Stranieri in Perugia, the International Lyric Academy of Rome, and the International Institute of Vocal Arts in Chiari, Italy. She is currently the Director of Music Ministries at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Carlsbad, California, and teaches voice and piano privately.

Lessons are tailored to the individual student's initial abilities. In all genres of music it is important to breathe well, have breath support, communicate the emotion and character of the song, and eliminate vocal bad habits. These issues are different for everyone.

I teach a classical Italian technique of breath support and beautiful tone, and these techniques can be applied to all musical styles.

The student will be assigned and choose songs to learn and work on as we incorporate the techniques into the songs and vocal exercises.

With my two Bachelor's degrees in Music Composition and Technology, I began tutoring students in piano, voice, and composition as it was part of my training. I also have experience writing and editing essays, books, and more for several independent clients. I have experience writing my own books as well. I have written two so far, but am getting ready to write a third. I am a copious editor and can catch grammatical and other errors with ease. This is why tutoring in English would be great for me.
I thought I would add basic math for those school-aged children that are having a little trouble with it in their classes.

I use a wide variety of techniques to sing, play piano and other instruments. Techniques include straight vowel singing (no words) to test how long to hold notes, using color to help people sight read, using improvisational techniques in order to play jazz, rock, classical and many other styles of music.
I use what they student has under his or her belt as a starting point to see what lessons we could start them on.
I also assist with online lessons to make transportation a thing of the past. If you've got a webcam or Skype, I can do long-distance lessons with you! So, I am here to help!

Malik H. is a Philadelphia native musician. Beginning his music career in high school, Malik has made significant accomplishments during his time playing. He was a member of the Central High School Jazz Band, and also being selected for the All-City Jazz band in 2011 and 2012. Malik has studied under Dan Monaghan, Jazz drums teacher at Temple University. In addition to his Jazz studies, Malik displays versatility by playing at Greater Exodus Baptist Church, and playing for several local artists including genres of R&B, Hip-hop, Rock, Gospel, and Pop. He has played at several venues throughout the Philadelphia area including The Arts Garage, Warmdadddys, The Underground Arts, The Kimmel Center, The Philadelphia Convention Center and more. Significant performances he has participated in includes opening acts for Sugar Hill Gang, Tye Tribbe
tt and Kierra Sheard, and performing with James Fortune and Karen Clark Sheard.

As a student at Valley Forge Christian College, Malik has participated in the Wind Ensemble as well as student led “The Art Of” music group. While in college Malik returned to Central as a student instrumentalist mentor where he demonstrated concepts in Jazz to young instrumentalists, enhanced overall understanding on drums to students, assisted in developing technique, and how to read music. He has also participated in Central High School productions of three musicals including “Annie Get Your Gun,” “West Side Story,” and “Hairspray,” where he was a member of the pit orchestra.

In fall 2013, Malik transferred to Temple University as a Entrepreneurship major with the goal to start his own entertainment company promoting positive arts. Malik believes today’s artists and entertainers play an important role in in the health of communities and society in general. He believes Artists have the opportunity to reach people in a way no other form of media can, and must take responsibility for the content that they put out. The great deal of negativity in today’s entertainment industry is the driving factor to Malik’s Hard work.

Upon completing only one year at Temple University, Malik moved to Tampa, FL in February of 2014 to expand his connections and grow his business. While in Tampa, he has worked with several artists, including Indie groups Legacy West and House of Woodbury. With Legacy West, he played the role of the drummer and producer, and was able to take the group’s music to the next level of production and played on the recording of their single “Take It or Leave It,” which won the Akademia award for best song in November 2008.

Today, Malik currently resides in his hometown, where he works at The Soundlounj, a rehearsal venue in the East Oak Lane section of Philadelphia, and House on the Hill Recording Studio located in Belthlehem PA. I do not see teaching as simply repeating what has been already detailed in text books and lectures. Everyone’s mind is different and thus everyone has a unique perception to understanding one issue or another. Things are better illustrated with an example.

A while back, there was a television show hosted by a T.V. personality named Monty Hall. In the show, Monty presented a contestant with 3 closed doors. Behind one door was a new car. And behind each of the other two doors was a goat. The contestant had the option to choose one door so as to win the new car.

The probability that a car was behind door 1 or door 2 or door 3 was the same, about 33.33%. Let us say that the contestant picked door 1. Monty would then open one of the other two doors that were not chosen by the contestant. There were 3 terms in the game: 1) Monty knew what w
as behind each door; 2) Monty cannot open the door that was already chosen by the contestant; 3) Monty would only open a door that hides a goat.

Let us say Monty opened door 3 revealing a goat. Monty then asked the contestant if the contestant would like to switch to door 2 or keep his original choice of door 1. Contestants would be bewildered not knowing really what to do. Was it better to keep the originally choice or was it better to switch or it would make no difference whether to keep the original choice or switch?

Meet Marilyn vos Savant. Marilyn wrote a column called “Ask Marilyn” in a newspaper called Parade. Marilyn was known for having one of the highest recorded IQ. A reader sent Marilyn a letter asking her if it was better to switch or not to switch. Marilyn stated in her column that a contestant should switch since switching doubled the contestant’s chances of winning. Many of Marilyn’s readers erupted in protest including readers with Ph.D., mathematicians, and academicians. Most people believed that the probability that a car was behind door 1 or door 2 was the same of 50%.

This became known as The Monty Hall Problem or The Monty Hall Paradox. Articles and books were written over this problem. Actually Marilyn was right and this was proven using computer simulation. Yet until today many people cannot understand that switching doubles the chances of winning.

At first glance this paradox might seem irrelevant to teaching. But I think it does. This paradox tutor the mind in the subject of structured thinking which is very important in learning.
