Phil B. has Bachelor's Degree in Percussion Performance that he earned at Central Washington University in 1991. Soon after graduating from CWU Phil relocated to the Seattle area and has been teaching and performing professionally in this area ever since. Recently Phil has been working with some of the most popular dance/show bands in the Northwest, including The Goods, That 80's Show, Galaxy 54, Vanity, and Gold Digger.
As an instructor Phil worked as a clinician and p
rivate instructor with Music Works Northwest and the Seattle Drum School. Currently Phil teaches privately in several different studios in the Seattle Puget Sound area.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Complete 5-piece Drum Set

*** Specialties ***
I teach the Moeller Method. This is a system of technique which involves three basic wrist motions. The basics can be taught in one lesson, but the application takes a lifetime. I also teach all popular styles of contemporary drum set, such as rock, jazz, funk, r&b, and many different Latin styles. I work with students on reading both on snare drum and drum set and also get them playing along and transcribing with recordings of whatever style of music is of interest to them.

Using a great Curriculum that teaches students of all ages and skill levels. Starting with Realistic Rock, then Advanced Funk Studies, ending with Advances Jazz Techniques.

About Zaky
Hi, my name is Zak! Music is a beautiful thing. It has the so much power. It can be used to send a message, move and inspire people. Music can impact emotions, it is a beautiful and powerful thing!

Music, and teaching have always been a big passion in my life. The ability to take knowledge of a subject that you have, and show, share, and shape someone and pass on that knowledge to them. It is an amazing feeling. I am a passionate, and caring instructor. My teaching style is encouraging, motivating, and educational. I fully believe that you can do anything you set your mind to, and I use that by showing my students that I believe in them.

I use a curriculum that was taught to me, and has been used in schools and universities. This curriculum fits all age groups and skill levels. Starting with Rock, moving to Funk, ending with Jazz.
When drumming playing with music, learning improvisation, and playing by ear is important. I also focus on this, having students learn their favorite songs, and learn to play with new music as well. This keeps students interested, and adds a fun personal element to their lessons. I also have implemented use of a teaching app, so while practicing if students have a question they can ask me right then so to not forget, and I can give feedback. It also has a practice tracker tool. If you have any questions feel free to email me.

I look forward to meeting you, and helping you reach your music goals!

Learn the basics of rhythm and beginner drumming.

How to play various drum beats, fills, stick technique.

Students enjoy learning their favorite songs.

About Paul
***My goal as a teacher***

I try to teach what the students are interested in and make it fun and interesting so that they learn the lessons and their favorite songs. Every student is different and needs to be taught in a way that makes learning easy and fun for them.

I have a passion for all people and all ages and am blessed to be able to teach from the very young, (ages 2-5 Toddlermusik lessons) to teens and adults.....all the way to senior citizens. I've had many older students all the way up to a 93 year old gentleman who is taking singing lessons and asked me to put music to his lyrics. We have recorded over 50 songs together.

***Background***

I started playing trumpet in 5th grade and knew that music was for me. I also liked playing with drums and piano also because they seemed exciting. I've competed in WSMA (Wi
sconsin School Music Assoc.) for many years which taught me a lot about performing for judges, being relaxed, and the importance of preparation.

I started playing the guitar and bass guitar when I was 13 and have never stopped practicing and performing since. I also have done a lot of writing, recording, producing, and have a Pro Tools Studio for students to use.

***College and Teaching***

I began teaching music lessons in college and enjoyed it very much. I received my B.A. in Music from the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point. There I was very much involved with guitar, piano, voice, trumpet, and being in bands and writing music. After receiving my B.A. I also took 3 years of Education classes at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. I write, produce, and perform my music along with performing with bands around the Midwest.

***Life in Music***

After receiving my B.A. in Music, I continued teaching and opened up my home studio. After a year and a half I had enough students that I was able to quit my factory job and teach music full time. I've been teaching, performing, and writing music ever since.

***Performing and more***

I have been on stage performing music since I was 11. In school band, marching band, competing in music competitions, and in bands touring the Midwest.

I have recorded many CDs with bands and on my own. My most ambitious project was a CD of my original music called, "Girls". I've performed my music and promoted it by being interviewed on Milwaukee radio stations along with internet music sites such as CD Baby. It is very exciting talking on live radio about my music and my passion. It is also even more exciting, and scary, playing my music live on the radio, lol.

***Instruments Taught***

I have been teaching for over 2 decades. Students take lessons for:
* guitar (electric / acoustic)
* piano
* voice
* drums
* trumpet
* saxophone
* harmonica
* music theory / ear training
* studio recording / songwriting

I also give kindermusik lessons to 2-5 year old all the way up to senior citizens 70-93. I play parties, concerts, and Nursing Home performances.

I am experienced as an online (Skype) instructor, and I have taught online lessons worldwide. I've witnessed great results from my online students (both national and international).

I hope I can help you with all of your musical goals and get you going in a positive musical direction.

I meet Paul about three months ago, While not a complete beginner, I had tried to teach myself thru out the years and picked up a lot of bad habits. Paul helped me to see and fix my habits. Paul is a very qualified teacher, of many instruments, drums, keyboards, guitar, and others. I'm 59 years old, Paul doesn't mind my age, doesn't treat me like I'm too old to learn new stuff. And is more than willing to see me thru complete guitar instruction. Thanks Paul...

First approach would be checking and working on technique," back to basics".
Technique presents an important element in process of learning and adjusting body itself to the instrument, in natural way.
The main thing through my work ethic with students is to make student capable to become adjustable drummer/musician and percussionist in various styles of music.
In my opinion, instructor's role is to help the student find his/her own way of getting through music and creativity. Also to show the beauty of playing this instrument.
I have been performing various styles on drumset,(some of them: Jazz, Funk, Rock, Latin, MiddleEastern) with different combos and ensembles and at the same time I have been performing as professional percussionist in orchestra setting and in Big Band setting.

About Igor
Hello,
My name is Igor, and I am a recent graduate of Northern Illinois University’s School of Music, where I graduated with a Master of Music (Jazz Studies, Drumset) in May 2017. Also, I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Benedict College in South Carolina. This education is anchored in a number of solid teaching and performance experiences.

I won two national prizes, 1. prize( 2007) and 2. (2009) at the National Percussion Competition of Serbia. I performed in various group settings, jazz, funk, rock, Classical Orchestra and Big Band setting. I played with Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra of Serbia, played for 3 years in South Carolina with outstanding jazz and funk musicians, I performed at Chicago Jazz festival with Big Band etc..

As one of my idols, Steve Gadd says:'' Adjustments never stop"
I have been trying to stay adjustable for various styles and along performing and teaching I am still learning myself. I believe that the best learning occurs when a student reaches on that level that he/she start finding new things in music that are also new for us/educators as well. At this moment in music creativity, both, students and educators, start teaching one each other while they are enjoying the beauty of music.

The uncertainty becomes the essential focus in music sense, since neither professor nor student know what type of certain element will show up during next class of performing some tune, or some piece of music or during practicing simple exercise.

The drums are the backbone of most music, so you have to be able to feel the groove and stay tight and on top of the beat. I encourage students to pick their favorite songs, and we drum to those while learning proper technique, rudiments, song form, fills, rhythm, different grooves / beats, and anything they want to know about the drums. I have been playing the drums for over sixteen years and have a Bachelor's Degree in Music from the Berklee College of Music. Drums is a beautiful art and form of expression and is just the tip of the iceberg we can tackle called Music.

About Eric
MUSIC!
I think music is the most beautiful thing in the world, so lets take time to learn and play music together.
I have been playing the drums for over sixteen years, and been in over fifteen bands in the course of that time. I have a degree in Music from the Berklee College of Music were I studied music theory and focused on Music Production and Engineering. I have been playing Piano, Bass, and Guitar for about ten years in addition to the drums, and have been recorded in sessions on each. I have a deep passion for synthesizers and electronic music, so lets make some bleeps and bloops together.
I am extremely kind, friendly, and funny so lessons with me are very relaxed and have an easy to learn environment. However I am very passionate about teaching to fit student needs; so if a student likes deadlines and homework, if that is what w
ill help them learn the best, then that is how I will teach.
Lets make some sweet music together!!

I've developed steadily over the years and gained most of my skills from playing with different musicians. I have spent the larger part of my 25+ years drumming in bands that were writing their own original works. This gave me the ability to develop my ear, develop some of my own techniques, and use critical thinking skills to write the best parts that I could to the music being presented to me. When I started out I didn't want to be or sound like anyone else. Dedicating my life to original music gave me the freedom to express myself and put my feelings and emotions into the music that I play. Taking lessons from me would open your drumming world up to your own interpretations. Once you're ready I take it a few steps further and pick up a bass and/or guitar while you are drumming to develop your feel for timing, fills, rhythm changes, and give your muscle memory and critical thinking skills a workout.

About Damien
As stated in my teaching profile, "Taking lessons from me would open your drumming world up to your own interpretations. Once you're ready I take it a few steps further and pick up a bass and/or guitar while you are drumming to develop your feel for timing, fills, rhythm changes, and give your muscle memory and critical thinking skills a workout." In addition to that I have a network of musicians that would make themselves available to play along as well.

There's many teachers out there but finding one that is compatible with you and your personality as well as having the ability to let you develop and grow as you want to versus urging or forcing you to be a carbon copy of themselves is the key. If you put me at the top of your list you might not have to look any further. The good thing is that if you do try me first and don't think I
'm the right fit for you there are still MANY teachers out there for you to try.

I'm currently in a band that's gigging around Milwaukee, Madison, Kenosha and beyond. We've just passed 8yrs together and have been performing live for over 7yrs. I'm a member of the Council of Festival Committees. I have been on the Board of Directors of WAMI, the Wisconsin Area Music Industry, for the past 3 years and have been on the WAMI Youth Showcase Committee, which is held every year at Summerfest for the past 6 years. I am an advocate for original musicians and increasing market share for original music as a whole. I'm proud to announce that I have created and successfully launched an all original performing arts showcase titled, the Midwest Original Music Festival, that took place at Croatian Park in Franklin, WI over the weekend of 8/18 - 8/20. I have many connections within the music industry and I'm an all around good guy to know.

I have not paid the $20 through this website for a background check because it would just be a redundant expense for me. I'm a family man with a 9yr old son. No criminal record. Non smoker. No drug or alcohol dependencies. My background has been checked by my son's school so I would be able to be a chaperone. Also, In 2016, I had passed a background check through the Wisconsin Department of Justice to obtain my concealed carry permit for my part time job.
