I grew up doing Certificate of Merit in classical voice and went through all of the levels.
Glynis has been reading music since before she knew how to read words. Her mother started teaching her piano lessons at age 3, and she started taking voice lessons at age 7. She learned from an early age to practice every day. She has taught all levels and ages of piano and voice for many years. Glynis specializes in jazz voice, but has a very strong classical and musical theatre background. She is an arranger, composer, educator, and singer. She received her AA in Professional Music from SWCC (school for music vocations), her BA in Jazz Studies: Vocal Performance at CSU Sacramento, and her Masters in Jazz Studies: Vocal Performance at the Bob Cole Conservatory at CSU Long Beach. She teaches college and high school vocal jazz ensembles as well as many private students in many areas of music. *** Lesson Details *** My teaching philosoph
y is to have a safe, positive, fun, and effective learning environment for all of my students. I believe it is important to be a well rounded musician, therefore I love my students to have a solid understanding of what they are doing. I strongly encourage all of my students to learn theory along with piano or voice, so they understand what they are doing. Each student is unique, therefore each student has a different lesson plan. I do expect that my students will practice during the week in order to grow, since this helps them reach their goals. I do let students pick most their own repertoire, since it is very important for them to be motivated and enjoy their assignments during the week. I can teach from early Baroque music to modern day and everything in between. Music is expression, therefore I believe it is very important for my students to love what they are working on.
*** Studio Equipment *** Lessons are in my house with my upright Yamaha piano.
*** Travel Equipment *** I can bring a keyboard, but it is necessary to have a piano or keyboard at home to pracitce on if you are a piano student.
*** Specialties *** I specialize in jazz voice, with a strong background in classical and musical theatre. I also specialize in piano, music theory, songwriting and arranging.

I would highly recommend Tony Mitri as a voice and music instructor. My son takes lessons with Mr. Mitri and his progress has been astounding! He studies with other teachers previously without much success. My son has said he has learned more from Mr. Mitri than all of his previous instructors. He enjoys the lessons so he works harder at making progress and it shows. He helped him expand his range substantially, and increase his confidence. I would highly recommend him to anyone interested in music of any kind. Mr.Mitri is awesome professional, patient and extremely knowledgeable. You won’t be disappointed.

When I started singing in junior high, I accompanied myself with the guitar. Then I went on to study voice privately and learned correct Classical and Belle Canto styles of singing. I've studied for many years and continue to sing and learn, using the best techniques of singing Classical as well as every other style of music. Currently I have a student who has gone on to study to be an Opera Singer and she is doing splendidly!
My primary focus is teaching the best and most effective Vocal Techniques to students of all ages and backgrounds. I also teach Acoustic Guitar and finger picking. My teaching includes the Orff and Suzuki methods of music for Children. My primary focus is on teaching singing and I have been teaching beginning to advanced Voice, as well as beginning to intermediate acoustic guitar privately for over 25 years. My students perform in recitals at least twice a year. They also participate in local Broadway productions and Musicals for C.Y.T., Coast Kids, Moonlight Theatre, Escondido Center for The Arts, J Company, and Star Theatre Productions. Students also are involved with Classical, Choral, Gospel, Pop and Rock performing. Along with these venues, students perform for talent shows at their schools, sing in bands, and perform locally at thei
r favorite venues. Many of my students have gone on to sing professionally and I currently teach Artists with ongoing careers.
My motto is learn to sing the "Easy, Natural Way". I teach the very best techniques, so vocalizing is not strained or difficult. My main focus is on teaching good "placement" of the sound, using the best ways to secure breath support and control, as well as good stage presence. Dealing with stage fright is always addressed, whether the singer wants to sing just for themselves, or audition for Musical Theatre productions. Styles range from pop to rock and opera. I teach students of ALL AGES and work with every style or genre of music. Having spearheaded the Music program at the local YMCA has been a special treat in my teaching career!
*** Studio Equipment *** I teach using a piano for learning vocal exercises and good techniques. I also have an acoustic Guitar that I use to teach my students how to play and learn good finger picking and strumming techniques. Using a computer is always employed, to pull up songs on YouTube, so students can choose what they would like to work on. Karaoke versions are used as well, for further training purposes.
*** Travel Equipment *** When I teach at a student's home, I bring my Guitar with me, if they're studying this instrument. It is helpful for a student to have a piano or keyboard for me to teach voice, but I do have a keyboard I can bring if none is available. Having a computer close by is very helpful, to get the most out of the lesson as is possible.
*** Specialties *** I specialize in helping people who have created possible "bad habits" in their singing techniques. "Placement" and breathing, or "support", are of key importance. When good techniques are used, just about anyone can learn to sing beautifully. I also work with all ages, having background with Children, as well as teens, middle age, and elderly vocalists. Singing is universal, so every ethnicity is included in my student roster. If someone wants to learn to play the acoustic Guitar, this is always a plus, to accompany ones-self, or to focus on the instrument on it's own. Singing and playing should be "easy" and this is the approach I take in teaching.
The most important aspect of vocal training that I will emphasize is breath support. Connecting to the body when singing will ensure vocal protection and prevent unwanted vocal strain. I will also focus on gaining control through scales and breathing. I would like my students to gain consistency in their lessons each week by providing them with new challenges and helping them to gain new tools when practicing. Applying these fundamental elements of healthy singing into each student's repertoire is the ultimate goal in these lessons.
My name is Christina and I am very passionate about the vocal arts, specifically Opera. Opera was a surprise in my life that I discovered in college. I am now currently pursuing my MM degree in vocal arts at UCLA. The classical technique can provide a great foundation to healthy singing, ensuring a long and healthy vocal life.
Along side opera and other genres of singing, I believe basic knowledge in piano is extremely beneficial in improving musicality and an understanding of each piece. Piano greatly improves sight reading and ones ability to learn music quickly and efficiently. It can allow one to develop an understanding of harmony and context within each unique piece of music.
I would love to help and guide those interested in music, specifically classical voice, opera, musical theater, and piano. I would love to share the gre
at joy it brings me with others and pass down what I have learned over the years. I have completed courses in music pedagogy and education alongside my degree, and believe in shaping my lessons around each individual's learning style so that each student may continue to grow while having fun. Helping each student develop their own unique musical identity is one of the main goals with these lessons.

I enjoyed working with Christina. She was very adept at identifying areas in my vocal skills that could use some improvement and then offered solutions to that end. She also happens to be an extremely talented singer. I definitely recommend her services and look forward to working with her again.

Working with Amanda Baker during the spring of 2017 truly revolutionized the way I think about my voice. We explored techniques that enabled me to understand the ease required for singing above the staff, as well as the intricacies of resonance. The time we spent together was an amazing stepping stone for the Young artist opera program I attended during the summer of 2017. If not for our working together I would not have performed as successfully as I did. She was extremely prudent, diligent, compassionate, and encouraging. She is a grade-A 5-star teacher in my book!
I've been acting and singing professionally in the Milwaukee area for several years for a variety of shows and styles from musical theatre to classical. I can show you how to sing with control over the voice but also emotion to suit the situation. I've taught students of all ages and experience levels from those just beginning to those already being paid to sing.
If you’re searching for a professional Music Teacher and Performer who can give you the personalized attention you deserve, look no further! I’m an experienced and knowledgeable teacher of singing lessons with a degree in voice education and state certification to teach music. I've been offering my instructive services since 2016 to clients in the greater Milwaukee area. I can help you unlock your full vocal potential by providing the technical guidance and fundamental skills you need in order to succeed.
My lessons focus on controlling the voice. For beginning students I teach the basics of posture and breathing that will lead to a healthy control of not only the voice, but the whole body. As we continue I move onto learning different individual skills based upon what the students needs most. Some of the most common goals of my studen
ts that I address are learning to sing with more volume without needing a substantial amount of effort, extending the range, and eliminating habits that can cause permanent damage later in life. For my more advanced students or those looking to sing a variety of styles I teach how to alter the voice subtly such that a student could sing drastically different songs with quality.
Experienced teacher of 6 years, mentoring students of all ages and abilities in singing, music theory, and composition. As a Sophomore at St. Olaf College double majoring in vocal church music and vocal music education, I live and breathe music! I have been teaching for six years now, having started out mentoring children in the Royal School of Church Music, a program founded in music theory, sight reading, church music repertoire, and vocal technique.
I am also a freelance composer with multiple years of composition and music theory experience. I can mentor students of all ages and abilities in music writing software (particularly MuseScore and Sibelius) and help students channel their inner creativity in composing.
Having taken classical voice lessons for six years, I can teach students proper breath support, vibrato, straight tone, releasing tension, vocal timbre, resonance, and placement. Additionally, I have vast musical theatre and jazz experie
nce and can help students to pull standards in all these genres for their pleasure.
As I am a younger teacher, I relate well with my students and have been informed of my patient nature. I am mindful of every student's individual ability, and I understand that the learning curve varies from person to person. Since I have worked with children for several years, I can easily convey theoretical concepts in different ways, using basic metaphors for a student's understanding.
If you take lessons with me, you will feel more confident in yourself and your musical abilities. And you will be able to see progression in your voice, as long as you practice and make a real effort! I am here to help.
Sarah is an excellent teacher. Our daughter enjoys her lessons, and we can already see improvement in just a handful of lessons.

I am currently learning a rather difficult Senior All-State audition piece right now, and Ms. Sarah has helped a TREMENDOUS amount! She has definitely worked really hard with me already to help my high notes come with more ease and work on other aspects of the piece such as diction. I am really happy to be working with her on this piece and continue to look forward to the progress I will make with it!

I am currently a high school sophomore and this is my first time taking voice lessons. Ms. Sarah is a very wonderful teacher. She is so patient, kind, and has a vast amount of experience with voice. Already with three lessons, I have seen great improvements with my vocal techniques, specifically with singing high notes and having better diction. I am looking forward to working with her more in the future as I audition for various groups and continue working toward being a better singer. Thank you Ms. Sarah for all that you have done for me so far, and I am so excited to continue with you!
"Kristen has a wonderful teaching presence and helped me to improve both the breathing mechanism and connection to the breath as well as my overall quality
of expression and ability to emote while singing. She is highly educated and well trained and I thoroughly recommend her as a teacher!"
"Rebecca was was wonderful. She helped me with my technique and was very patient with me. She corrected things I didn't even realize I was doing wrong. S
he also has a great sense of humor which helped me feel comfortable working with her."
"I really enjoy working with Rachael! She has a great understanding of technique, communicates clearly, and makes singing fun!"
"Hard to describe how well Michelle trains/steers/guides/educates/prepares her students. Once you see how her process works, you will see that she is one-
of-a-kind. Highly highly recommend."
"This guy knows his stuff and communicates clearly I learned more about breathing--fry, diaphram, 3 levels of breath intake--than I ever did with other tea
Bravo, Daniel G"
"My daughters enjoyed their respective class."
"In just a few short months I can't believe how much I've learned from Jessica. My technique has improved; my tone in the upper part of my range has impro
ved; how to keep my tongue from getting in the way / impeding the sound; so many aspects of singing. When I started my lessons I was particularly concerned that I might be doing something that was tiring my voice and causing it to lose volume. Jessica's knowledge of and ability to demonstrate proper singing technique helped me through that concern and I know I am a "healthier" singer now. Knowledge and ability aside, her approach is also very patient and very encouraging. I highly recommend her to anyone interested in improving their technique, tone, range, artistic ability, etc."
"Rachel very good My daughter loved I"
"Very helpful, and the added benefit of the opportunity to learn about how to use Audacity. We found a good vocal exercise for me to use."
