I have had the privilege of teaching piano and trumpet throughout Southeast Wisconsin and Northern Illinois for the past 12 years. In order to maximize convenience for both students and parents, I offer lessons in the comfort of your own home throughout Lake Geneva, Burlington, Elkhorn, Delavan, Genoa City and the surrounding areas. Many of my former students have gone on to become composers, performers and active instructors. Whether instructing piano or trumpet, lessons are always interactive, educational, memorable, and most of all fun!

Once basics are covered we will be able to use a full suite of music software to work on improvisations, blues, jazz and much more!

Hello! I am excited to teach you how to play piano! In my lessons, you learn music theory, improvisation, ear training, and more in sessions tailored to fit your learning style and ability. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced student, you'll constantly be challenged to push your boundaries and discover more about the music and yourself as a musician.

But most importantly, with me you'll learn how to play the HEALTHY way by incorporating the Alexander Technique.

Many piano players suffer fatigue, stress, and injury from constant bad muscle habits that start out small at first but later have the ability to end their entire music career. With the Alexander Technique, you can train your body to do as little as possible, effortlessly gliding over the keys while utilizing gravity, energy, and balance to do most of the work for you. Gone will be the days of "I've got to give my hands/arms a break!"

My lessons are best suited for students ages 12 and up, but I do also teach the ...

Over 6 years of teaching experience, and a Master's Degree in Vocal Performance! I have taught all ages and experience levels and specialize in teaching young children how to sing in a vocally healthy way. I customize lesson plans to achieve your goals and have a 5-step training system which includes work on breath support, ear-training, healthy vocal technique, and repertoire of either your choice or my recommendation.

I am classically trained and have performed under the baton of world renowned conductor Lorin Maazel, and have attended the prestigious Aspen Opera Theatre as a Fellowship Opera Coach. However, this does not mean I only teach opera! In fact, most of my students are too young for opera or are more interested in musical theatre. I bring my knowledge of vocal health and healthy ways of singing, such as mixed voice, placement, and release of bad tension in addition to good breath support to ALL genres. No matter what genre you like to sing, healthy singing will ...

While at the Kansas City School of Music, my girls, ages 7 and 10, received piano and vocal lessons from Miss Sophia. Sophia is a wonderfully talented musician and pianist with very effective teaching methods. She is very patient with her students and always provides a positive nurturing learning environment. She was able to tailor each lesson to fit each of my girls needs, which I appreciate. I highly recommend Sophia to anyone looking to receive top notch instruction.
Lauren
Mrs. Zey is incredibly knowledgeable in voice and piano as well as in teaching them. She's familiar with a wide variety of vocal styles and techniques and will find one that works for you, as well as be kind and patient while teaching it. Five stars; a round of applause; and a standing ovation. She knows what she's talking about and is the best at what she does.

Violin can seem like an intimidating instrument to start learning how to play. I want to help my students have all the tools they need to gain confidence in their playing and have productive practice sessions. "I've had a great experience as Eric's student. He is highly knowledgeable as a guitar teacher and I have loved learning classical technique from him. And I'm kind of picky, since I already have a degree in music and am also a music teacher! He has really helped me broaden my skills as a guitarist and I can highly recommend him as a teacher for all kinds of guitar styles."

"My son has been taking violin lessons with Hallie for almost one year. He started just after he turned 4. My concern when he started was that he was too young but Hallie has obviously taught kids his age before and knows what she is doing. She is creative in order to keep a four year old interested and engaged. She is also warm and positive. Most importantly, he's really learning how to play and about music in general - it is a wonderful feeling when he makes strides and does something that seemed so out-of-reach before."

"I've had a very positive experience with Troy for vocal training. I'm an adult learner with some classical guitar experience, but I've always been terrified of singing. Since starting lessons many months ago, I've noticed steady improvement in my vocal skills and confidence. Our repertoire so far has included popular songs, broadway, and classical. Troy has a deep and broad understanding of music in general, and our lessons have expanded based on my interests to include ear training, music theory, and writing arrangements. Troy is both knowledgeable and approachable - a rare combination - and I would highly recommend him to students of all backgrounds."

"Ahmad is no doubt one of the most humble, approachable, and skillful guitar teacher you can find around the bay area. I have been studying with Ahmad for the past 3 and a half months. Ahmad was not the first music instructor I had. He is however, the best one so far by a large margin. Since the first lesson Ahmad has been extremely professional and organized in his teaching methods. He is able to quickly identify my strengths and weaknesses as a player, tailor his lessons to fit my capabilities, and help me improve in great effectiveness.

I took lessons once a week with Ahmad, and every week I could see noticeable improvements because Ahmad assigned me homework that was fun and challenging but never frustrating. But beyond this, not only have I become a more skilled guitar player, through Ahmad's help I was also able to apply a lot of the theoretical music knowledge in other aspects. When I hear a piece of music, I find that I am slowly able to identify parts of the music, break it down into logical steps, and connect the music to the fretboard of the guitar.

I am a college student with a busy schedule both on and off work, but with Ahmad I was able to greatly improve nonetheless. Thank you Ahmad, I really look forward to coming back to the Bay Area and be your student again."
