Each lesson will focus on the fundamentals of flute playing (breathing, posture, tone color, technique, and articulation). We also delve into the theory and history behind the music they study. Depending on the level of the student, each of these aspects are adhered to on a different level. As I have found the majority of flute development happens during their individual practice at home, I also focus time on the art of practicing, that way the student can develop this essential habit.

She has always been willing to help, going above and beyond in assisting me to achieve my best results for performances and examinations. Alessandra always made her lessons productive and enjoyable.
Sruthi
Alessandra is a very patient and a lovely teacher, who understands her students' learning styles and needs, and customises their lessons accordingly. I am very grateful for having had her as my flute teacher (coming from a background with zero knowledge of music). I would definitely recommend her for a teacher. I can assure that you can't go wrong in choosing her as your music teacher. :)

My teaching practices are deeply rooted in the philosophy that each student has potential and a musical voice to share. I believe that through open-mindedness, hard work, and dedication, any student can become an effective music communicator.

As a teacher, my first goal is to facilitate learning and growth so that
students may develop their own inner musical voices. My job as a teacher is to spark independent thinking and encourage students to pursue work that is artistically and personally satisfying for them. Ultimately, I want to guide students to become their own best teachers, enjoy the learning process, and discover how music can be a tool for personal expression.

I teach beginning through advanced students of all ages. I emphasize the importance of setting short- and long-term goals with each of my students.
As a studio teacher, I provide an environment for students to
1) explore, 2) have new experiences, and 3) develop good playing habits.
In lessons, we focus on the ...

Flute is a joy to play, for those simply looking for a hobby, and for more focused study.

As a music educator I have years of experience teaching privately and in classrooms, for individuals and groups. I craft lessons to the needs and interests of each student, to ensure they are getting the most of our time together. Many of my students enjoy, for example, video game and TV show music - so, these pieces are some of the repertoire we'll work on together. My goals as a teacher are to instill proper playing technique, guide how to shape the music, establish good practice habits, and above all find ways to connect students with the music they're studying. At the end of the day, we play music because it's fun!

About Alison

Thank you for visiting my profile! As a professional musician, I have played in various ensembles including orchestras, opera companies, wind ensembles, chamber groups, musicals and more. The Brooklyn Conservatory Community Orchestra (BCCO), presenting 3-5 concerts a year, has been my orchestra
