Singing lessons are very special, because the student's voice is their instrument! We learn proper posture, good breathing technique, free head voice singing for proper pitch placement and good tone quality and resonance. Students can pick their style of music and even the songs they'd like to sing. Typically students like to sing show tunes, folk songs, and musicals. Italian Arias are good to learn pure vowel sounds, free head voice, diction, and study excellent classics. Students have fun as they learn to be the best singer they can be! :)

I've been teaching voice and singing with local opera companies for almost 30 years. I've sung with the Atlanta Opera chorus and outreach program. I've sung roles for Capitol City opera as well as others. I specialize in opera and classical singing however, I also love musical theater. I believe all styles of singing should use strong breath control and vocal technique. I teach breathing for singing and speaking; vowel and tone production and resonance; relaxation techniques, interpretation and dramatic aspects of literature for performance and auditions. Many of my students have gone on to college with voice scholarships and continue singing as adults.

There are so many colors to the human voice. Unlike most instruments, the human body does not show us what note we are playing or how the air is inhaled in to our stomach. So we end up feeling our way through, using our imagination. This is where the magic happens. In class and outside of it, muscle memory takes its natural course and we begin creating a unique and practical "navigation map" of your voice.
Whether you feel like letting out some steam, working on those high notes or designing your own sound; I am excited to meet you! I have studied (and still studying - learning is endless...) many different techniques and am very committed to sharing what I know with patience and passion.

Over the past 12 years, we've given over 3,000,000 lessons to happy customers around the world.

I have never taken one on one lessons but when I was blessed with the opportunity to join my church's worship group I knew that I wanted to seek professional help.
Take lessons lead me straight to Cosima. She knows what she's taking about and is very helpful when it comes to making sure I understand every area of singing. I am very shy about singing but with Cosima makes me feel comfortable and she gives me many reminders that its ok to mess up, at her studio we're allowed to make mistakes. Little by little I can see myself coming out of my shell and begin to gain the singing confidence I was missing.
I look forward to our lessons together. and will encourage any student out there that is looking for a professional but also a person who cares about your singing growth and ability, to take Cosima as your teacher. you wont regret it!!"

Joshua has the whole package. I came into this just wanting singing lessons, but he is also going to help me with songwriting and performance techniques, which are both things I truly want as well as the singing lessons.
I can't wait until next time!"
