I'm a teacher, director and all-around guide for actors who want to go out and audition for roles. I provide guidance to seasoned actors by helping them fine-tune both their audition technique and the monologues they choose perform. I lend that critical "outside eye" to help them become aware of what they're actually doing in their piece(s) (details of which they may be unaware); to guide them towards their strengths as an actor (which could be very different than how they think they should be approaching/performing a piece); and to aid them in shaping the monologue into a complete, engaging, performance piece.

For beginners, I introduce them to the basics of good audition/acting technique; help guide them towards monologues that are not only appropriate, but strong choices for them individually; and as with my veteran students, help them shape their pieces into strong, entertaining, 1-2 minute works of theater that underscore the strengths they bring to the table as an actor.

How to reach a modern audience. Scansion, the vital importance of this tedious exercise and how it can literally reveal deeper meaning. If your out there auditioning, you need at least two classical monologues of varying lengths, Shakespeare is what is usually expected and is still considered the pinnacle regarding the former and scenes as well. If you prefer a less practical approach, we can certainly attack the subject academically in the main, though academics are naturally included necessarily in the practical work as well. The bottom line is your lessons will depend on your experience, goals and abilities.

About Randy

I have always been an actor first, it is the craft and discipline in which I hold my advanced degrees; it is my first and eternal love. There really isn't much more one could add to such a claim. Simultaneously I have believed a teacher is born, not bred; and I was born to be in theatre, and now, w

Hello! I'm Dominic R. (though I'm commonly known as "that guy" to very close friends) and I'm an artist. I'm an actor, teacher, singer, comedian, writer, graphic designer, and a really, horribly novice ukulele player.

I. LOVE. ACTING. And I love sharing my passion for that with other people, actors and non-actors alike.

In my acting coachings, I utilize many different exercises to make sure that each student has the knowledge and techniques required for them to feel completely, fearlessly themself. Every artist approaches their craft differently, but in acting, honesty is everything. Together, we'll discover what that means for you and how to make you shine your brightest light on stage or on camera.

Topics Include:
On-Camera Acting
On-Stage Acting
Musical Theatre Coachings
Audition Prep
Comedic Writing and Performance
Cold Reading Skills
and more!

Great first lesson!!

My daughter takes guitar from Maria and I didn’t realize how much she’s progressed until we went to a friend’s recital. 8 months with Maria and my child is leaps and bounds ahead of kids who’ve been taking for 2-3 years. It’s really motivating for her to see. Maria has standards which are non-negotiable but she’s patient and truly guides the kids to success. I’m so happy with our choice as her as a teacher.

Maria has been wonderful with our son. Very motivating and goal based. The recitals blow me away year after year. The progress these kids make with her plus the longevity of her students says a lot.

"Chad provided excellent technique coaching in Shakespearean Acting. I had the opportunity to work with him in one on one sessions and also in a group setting. Both kinds of sessions gave me unique tools like ensable building and utilizing Shakespeare’s text along with all its double meanings. He is easily able to cater to each individual actors needs and really understands how to help break bad habits in order to allow for more growth. Along with text work, Chad provided excellent coaching in creating distinct physical shifts in the body when playing multiple characters in a show. Chad was always willing to answer any kind of questions and continued to surprise me with the ways he could shed some new light on Shakespeare’s work."

"I`ve been taking Shakespearean acting lesson with Michael for a month now and I am very satisfied with him and his method.
Although, I have much of prior acting experience, I was quite unfamiliar with Shakespeare´s plays, lofty language and his metaphors, Michael helped me get to the essence of it very quickly.

He´s a very reliable and effective acting teacher. He`s also punctual, always arrives on time with a plan of what we are hoping to achieve in each lesson. His clear and structured method of teaching enables steady progression.
I definitely recommend him."

"I've had the pleasure of working with Anthony for almost a year now and it has been the best decision I've ever made. Anthony is the type of teacher that knows your potential and will do everything he can to push your skills to the next level. He challenged me on my diction, reading lines out-loud, and taught me techniques on how to understand the character I was playing in ways I never would have thought. I can't say enough amazing things about him!"

"Michael is a fantastic teacher! He helped me work on my Cleopatra among other great characters. He is focused, knowledgeable, passionate and has a profound manner in making the text accessible-current and personal. I used to have difficulty relating to a piece, the language intimidated me. Michael helped me to make the text my own, coming from my own heart. It changed how I worked on everything, both classical and modern."

"I was always afraid I couldn't learn Shakespeare, but Nicholas explained the intent on the word, the intent on the line. Soon, I was so caught up in the meaning of the lines and the story I was telling in that moment that I was able to engage in the role, smoothly, without worrying that I was performing Shakespeare. He broke it down so I could understand it, and then feel confident doing it. Highly recommend!"

"I have learned so much with Nicholas. I feel like I'm always walking out of our lessons with my mind blown! We've been working on Shakespearean acting which I am now thoroughly enjoying. I now have a deeper understanding and appreciation for the lines than which I have learned in school. I would highly recommend his coachings to any actor!"
