*** Lesson Details *** Damien is a very patient and moderately, laid back teacher. He will teach what you want to learn, yet give you suggestions on other avenues to approach. Basics lead to complete knowledge of any subject. S
tarting from the beginning of what a student knows and moving forward step by step will only lead to perfection in their lessons. Having fun doing this, is the only way to keep a student focused and progressing. Enjoyment is the number one focus of Damien's lessons. If a student isn't enjoying and having fun with their lessons then they will not progress. Damien teaches ages of 5-99. You are never too young or old to learn. Damien's main focus is guitar and music theory
*** Travel Equipment *** I would expect the student to provide their own guitar (if necessary) and a notebook I have private parking for my students, so they don't have to worry about parking, ever ! *** Specialties *** I have been taught, on a college level, of classical, jazz, ethnic musics. I specialize in guitar, theory, composition.

*** Lesson Details *** I am a very fun loving person and believe in creating a positive environment where students feel comfortable to be themselves. At the same time I am a stickler for details and do not allow laziness. I believe a balance of fun with excellence has allowed my students to excel far beyond their own expectations. Good results takes HARD WORK! Please do not come to lessons with the expectation to sing like Beyoncé or play piano at Carnegie Hall after 4 lessons. Mastering your voice and instrument takes equal parts of time, hard work, dedication and patience.
My teaching style is individually based. For vocal clients, I asses their strengths and weaknesses and develop a plan to build up their weak areas while helping them find "their own voice". I focus on breathing, intonation and control which I believe are the foundation of great singing ability. I use a classical Italian based program along with pop, R&B, jazz, and rock. I have vocal coached in many languages including Spanish, Japanese and Chinese.
For piano clients I focus on strength, dexterity and precision in fingering. I also help students learn to feel the music and bring their personality and touch to each piece they are performing.
*** Studio Equipment *** Tanisha currently teaches at her performing arts academy the White H Arts Academy. There are private instruction rooms and a lobby waiting area for parents and guests. Parents may also sit in the lesson room if desired. Private lesson rooms include a piano, speakers, and a music stand.
The White H Arts Academy also has two state of the art mirrored dance rooms with sound systems and wireless microphones for practicing stage performances or rehearsing for a big show.

Vocal genres are classical (opera), pop, R&B, gospel, rock, jazz, blues and musical theater. I studied voice at Berklee College of Music. Have also studied Seth Riggs SLS (Speech Level Singing) method independently, however, I am not certified. I also teach in languages other than English including Spanish, Japanese and Chinese.
Piano instruction levels I teach are basic to intermediary focusing on classical, and general accompaniment abilities.
So far so good!! Tanisha was very helpful during my first lesson. Made me feel as if she has known me already. Very good at relating current events in your life to the actual coaching. Awesome!! Can't wait for my next lesson.

Excellent experience with Mali... He loved her expertise!
Music theory takes you to a whole new level within the music world.
And the best part is that it applies to all the instruments not just guitar.
I show my students not just the textbook work but how to apply it to their instrument.
Alexander grew up listen to classic rock and metal, he decided to take up the guitar so he could rock out like his heroes Randy Rhoads, Yngwie Malmsteen,, Ritchie Blackmore, and Uli Jon Roth. Kay is very knowledgeable, kind and accommodating. She is very encouraging and never makes me feel dumb when I hit a sour note. (As a beginning beginner, that happens a lot!) I am amazed at how much I have learned in such a short time!

Hi, there! My name is Nicole and I can't wait to meet you! I've been teaching private lessons since 2009 and have loved helping my students discover and define their unique style, improve their approach and technique, and create success by their OWN definition in their respective or intended fields of work and study! I went to both Langston University and the #1 Jazz Studies program in THE WORLD at University of North Texas. I have studied vocal music performance, public speaking and small business/entrepreneurship. I'm a positive and passionate person and my teaching style is personal, fun, and positive results driven. A fun, friendly, and professional Music Instructor at your service for Voice, Guitar, Piano, Bass, Drums, & Ukulele! I have a BA degree from Florida Atlantic University in Music Performance for Classical/Flamenco/Jazz/Blues guitar and I've also performed on the Piano/Keyboards for a couple different bands too. Love to play & teach pretty much all styles of music! It is always a pure joy & truly rewarding to see my music students grow and flourish in their musical abilities. I have been enjoying doing this now for 20+ years- all ages & levels. I am also in a multi-dimensional rock project and a recording artist with my band Vision.
I believe it's important to learn the rudiments of music to build a good foundation (scales, chord vocabulary, theory, song-composition, performing techniques), but I also base the lessons on whatever th
e interests and strengths are for the student. For example, if you enjoy jazz more than classical we'll focus more on what you are particularly passionate about. I have also been a part of School of Rock Programs in which we provided performances for the students a la Jack Black. Please contact Takelessons to let the musical journey begin...
I can teach both classical, and contemporary harmony. I have studied contemporary harmony extensively. We will mainly focus on analysis of jazz and other contemporary music, and use the techniques learned in this analysis to compose original music.
In classical harmony we will analyze all forms of classical music, and practice composting within these guidelines.

A knowledge of music theory is absolutely indispensable to musicians. For beginners, it can seem intimidating, but experienced musicians will attest that theory is well worth the effort needed to master it.
While you can certainly acquire proficiency on an instrument without a knowledge of theory, you’ll miss out on the depth of understanding that it provides. Music theory is also extremely useful for musicians.
Think of music theory as your tool box. It enables you to analyze, tra …
