As a trained, classical singer, I love teaching classical technique and the traditions of the art for.
Why Choose Carla:
• Work on your singing in a warm, friendly and private studio with an experienced teacher that makes singing fun! Students of all ages are always welcome!
• Member of the National Association For Teachers of Singing (the only selective professional organization for Voice Teachers) whose mission is: To encourage the highest standards of the vocal art and of ethical principles in the teaching of singing; and to promote vocal education and research at all levels, both for the enrichment of the general public and for the professional advancement of the talented.
• Voice students learn more then just how to sing, they learn how to be performers and musicians.
• I will not take on a student I cannot help.
• Voice students have MANY performance opportunities offered to them that are appropriate for their level
My unique studio uses the basics of Bel Canto technique to teach all styles of music to all ages. Parents often comment on how much fun their students have in lessons, while getting feedback from outside professionals (adjudicators, directors, etc) on how much their technique has improved. Adult students are commonly shocked by how easy singing can feel as they meet their career goals.
Current students can be seen performing with: America's Got Talent! Hardrock Cafe LAS VEGAS! Broadway Bound Bellevue Opera Puget Sound Concert Opera Seattle Gilbert and Sullivan 5th Avenue Theater Theater Schmeater 13 Coins Hwy 99 Blues Club The Showbox Chop Suey Dicken's Carolers And MORE!
I realize that voice lessons can be REALLY scary and I totally understand why, especially for kids and beginners! I do my best to use modern psycology and technology to help my beginning students feel confortable in what can be a frightening new endeavor.
Personal Performance Experience: Extensive lead and supporting opera performing experience with Bellevue Opera, Puget Sound Concert Opera, Skagit Opera, Tacoma Opera, Portland Opera,Seattle Gilbert and Sullivan, Seattle Opera and Seattle Youth Symphony. Prior to that spent 7 years performing Jazz and Gospel and 10 years in musical theater.
Personal Education: BA in Music from Seattle Pacific University 2002, MM in Opera Performance (Unfinished due to 1 year of German) at University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.
Teaching Experience: 8 years as a private voice teacher in my own studio, 3.5 years teaching opera workshops throughout the USA, 2 years working in studio with local bands as a 'fixer.'
Have you tried lessons before and felt unsuccessful?
Not all students learn the same way and for years voice teachers have been treating every student as an aural learner. What I have found is that students with a history of struggling with matching pitch simply need to be taught in a different manner. That is why I now ask students to take a voluntary learning style inventory prior to their first lesson.
Visual Learner? Not a problem when "Adam" started with me he could only match pitch 30% of the time. But after finding that he needed to see concepts in order to learn them I have now made all of his lesson visually based and he is now averaging 90% pitch accuracy 3 months later.
Kinisthetic Learner? I had the hardest time helping "Clark" learn new music until we realized that by taking the time to have him play his parts himself on the piano he could learn them in minutes. He just is a person that learns by doing and now that we know that, music has become so much less frustrating for him.
Physical Learner? With "Steve" the traditional 'visualization' style of teaching that most voice teachers start with just wasn't helping him improve his sound and reach the high notes we both knew he had. After we figured out that he needed large muscle movements to understand concepts I added the use of a resistance band to his lessons. He has had so much success with this technique that he 'stole' my resistance band so he could use it in recording sessions and before he got on stage.
The stories just go on and on.

*** Lesson Details *** Students help structure their lessons by providing a general overview of their goals during their first lesson. Just as not everyone's voice sounds the same, neither does everyone's lesson!
A typical lesson begins with vocal warm-ups specifically targeted to strengthen the students technique and help them learn more about their voices capabilities. Next students work on songs of their choosing, that help them develop the freedom of voice, control, stamina and overall vocal health that they will need to be confident in their performing.
Additional opportunities for performance are provided for students as desired. These may include Karaoke Nights (for adult beginners), no-stress recitals, studio sing-a-longs, community choirs and small roles in local productions.

Carla is a teacher who focuses on each individual student. I have observed the results of her students’ success in multiple music genres. I have studied with Carla for classical training, musical theater, jazz, and audition prep, and have seen positive results in each of these areas. Carla really works to make sure her students gain experience (she often arranges public performance opportunities at venues such as coffee shops, etc.) and she makes sure her students are aware of (and prepared for) upcoming auditions. Each lesson is followed up with an email from Carla re-capping the main points stressed in that lesson. I highly recommend Carla, whether you are a beginner or a seasoned performer.
My goal as a teacher is to make students successful in their goals. I work with a variety of people; some of them study music for personal enjoyment and others for their musical career. Everyone responds differently to music, that is why I prepare special lessons for each student. It is important that my students enjoy what they are playing or singing and for that reason I have a variety of repertoire that they can choose from. As a vocal coach, I work with students of all ages. The repertoire that I recommend to beginner students includes Disney, Broadway and classical music. For intermediate and advanced vocal student, I have successfully prepared them for competitions, Broadway and University auditions as well as personal enjoyment. From a lot of experience with beginner piano students, both young and adults, I have been able to find a regimen of piano teaching that combines time efficiency with fun. As the lessons continue, I slowly add new tools to each weekly lesson that are

*** Lesson Details *** Voice lessons with me are fun and effective. You can expect to hear improved technique from day one, eventually reaching your long term goals. I begin every lesson aligning the students voice through various vocal warm ups and exercises. We then work together to pick repertoire that will suit the singer's voice and they will enjoy singing. During a lesson we will also cover performance presentation, acting, diction, rhythm, musicality, style, and interpretation.
During tutoring you can expect a personalized plan based on your goals and aspirations. Since every student is different you can be assured we will come up with a plan that is designed just for you. I am a laid back tutor but will be sure to get the most out of you after our time together. Most students see at least a one letter grade improvement. My main goal for every tutoring session is student learning and comprehension.

So far, lessons with Ben have been VERY good (and productive! I'm naturally a reserved person, but He has gotten me to push beyond my comfort zone (that is "be louder"), which in retrospect has also helped me build my confidence in other areas. So at this point I look forward to having lessons, because I am growing in my understanding of how to use this God-given gift; a gift that's meant to be shared (not hidden away in silence).
I have training in Classical Voice at all levels and begin teaching proper technique and songs in English, German and Italian. I love to see the improvement in my students and help them build confidence in themselves!
I am a vocal and piano instructor based in Doylestown, PA! I also teach essay writing. I went to the University of the Arts in Philadelphia where I obtained a masters and bachelor's in voice. I have been teaching voice and piano for 8 years. I am upbeat and excited about sharing my passion for music with my students!

I am a college level jazz musician.
My primary instruments are jazz guitar and upright bass.
Growing up I have always wanted to sing but never could find a qualified teacher.
Luckily, after extensive research online for vocal teachers I discovered Kara.
I have been taking lessons with her for a while now and she's wonderful.
I always have many questions for her in my lessons and she always has a knowledgable response.
I feel like I'm progressing and finally learning how to sing properly with someone who knows their stuff.
I would highly recommend studying with her.

Working with Amanda Baker during the spring of 2017 truly revolutionized the way I think about my voice. We explored techniques that enabled me to understand the ease required for singing above the staff, as well as the intricacies of resonance. The time we spent together was an amazing stepping stone for the Young artist opera program I attended during the summer of 2017. If not for our working together I would not have performed as successfully as I did. She was extremely prudent, diligent, compassionate, and encouraging. She is a grade-A 5-star teacher in my book!
I've been acting and singing professionally in the Milwaukee area for several years for a variety of shows and styles from musical theatre to classical. I can show you how to sing with control over the voice but also emotion to suit the situation. I've taught students of all ages and experience levels from those just beginning to those already being paid to sing.
If you’re searching for a professional Music Teacher and Performer who can give you the personalized attention you deserve, look no further! I’m an experienced and knowledgeable teacher of singing lessons with a degree in voice education and state certification to teach music. I've been offering my instructive services since 2016 to clients in the greater Milwaukee area. I can help you unlock your full vocal potential by providing the technical guidance and fundamental skills you need in order to succeed.
My lessons focus on controlling the voice. For beginning students I teach the basics of posture and breathing that will lead to a healthy control of not only the voice, but the whole body. As we continue I move onto learning different individual skills based upon what the students needs most. Some of the most common goals of my studen
ts that I address are learning to sing with more volume without needing a substantial amount of effort, extending the range, and eliminating habits that can cause permanent damage later in life. For my more advanced students or those looking to sing a variety of styles I teach how to alter the voice subtly such that a student could sing drastically different songs with quality.
My coaching is unique in that it focuses on the entire performer, not just part. How is the voice produced in a way that is healthy and natural? What sets you aside from other performers? My students have high success rates in musical theater to commercial and classical styles. My focus is tailored to the individual with a healthy, firm understanding of technique and style.

"Marti is a talented voice instructor with years of personal, professional, and teaching experience. She also has educational background in vocal education
. She rarely cancels lessons, and usually tells you in advance if she will be out of town. When possible, she is also flexible if you are running late or need to reschedule. Since starting voice lessons with Marti over two years ago, my voice has dramatically improved because of her diligent and patient instruction."
"Best Instructor Ever!"
"Ms. Risling really helped my daughter develop her voice. She was also very accomodating and flexible in regards to scheduling."
"Olga is very passionate, patient and persistent voice teacher who strives to bring the best in her students. My daughters 10 and 12 started taking lesson
s with Olga an year ago. We saw phenomenal difference in both of their singing abilities in just few classes. Moreover my 10 year old daughter passed with flying colors ‘The certificate of merit -level 3’ exam and got selected to sing at the MTAC convention. Thank you Olga for your persistence and hats off to your patience. If there is tiny bit of constructive feedback it would be to seek help on organization skills, but being a mom myself I totally can discount that for your caliber of music."
"Ingrid is an excellent voice instructor. Really enjoying my lessons with her. She is very professional, patient and knows how to tackle specific issues, c
hallenges and set clear objectives for the outcome I want to achieve. Couldn't be more impressed with her!!"
"Michael is brilliant at breaking down vocal technique in a way that is both easy to understand and applicable to all vocal ranges/styles. His lessons are

"I have been training with Corinne for a couple of weeks now and I've already learned so much! She is such a friendly and warm person and also has huge amo
unts of knowledge about singing. She hears what is going on with my voice and guides me towards the right direction. The 30 minutes I come in are effective and we already have a few songs that I can sing at future auditions.
I highly recommend Corinne as a voice teacher!"
"Adam is a great teacher. This was my first time taking voice lessons (adult beginner) and I wasn't sure what to expect. But Adam's ear is sharp as hell. H
