A short history of my experience with music and education:
The first instrument I learned to play was the guitar in 2001.
I played the guitar on the worship team at FBC of Midway in Plant City, FL from 2001 to 2005.
I began teaching private music lessons in 2003.
I played bass guitar in a Christian rock band called of Anastasis from 2003 to 2005.
I played acoustic, electric, and bass guitar on the worship team at Family Worship Center in Lakeland, FL from 2006 to 2012.
I worked as a freelance audio engineer with my in-home recording studio throughout college (and now I just do it for fun).
I played bass and sang background vocals in a worship band called Skyline from 2007 to 2009.
I taught music and trained a student led worship team at Hope Christian Academy from 2009-2010.
I began performing independently from
2009 to present.
I played guitar and sang lead vocals in a Christian Rock Band called A Story Familiar from 2010 to 2012.
From 2010 to 2012, I taught in the Polk County public school system of Florida from 2010 to 2012, where I also worked heavily with students with special needs.
In July of 2012 I moved to Aurora, CO as a volunteer musician to help plant Streams Church.
In January of 2013 I married my beautiful wife.
Upon arriving home from our honeymoon, I was hired as Worship Director for Streams church, and I have worked there since. Some of my responsibilities include developing and executing weekly music set lists, creating charts and sheet music for new songs, and training the worship team in new music.
As for me personally, I love Jesus, my wife, and music. As I'm sure you can tell by my brief history, I do a lot of church service and ministry, if for this for any reason makes you wary, let me assure you: I play a lot more than just church music. As a lover of music, there is not much that I don't enjoy in the world of music, and I've taught most of it. I've taught the young and the not-so-young, and whether you're just beginning to read music, or you're just eager to learn your favorite song, I work closely with you to ensure you achieve the results you desire!
*** Lesson Details *** Four things I focus on: 1. Creating individualized lesson plans for you 2. Teaching you new techniques and polishing old ones 3. Building your confidence 4. Both of us having a fun, rockin' time!
When taking lessons from me, students can expect an environment that is a balance between being strict and laid back.Music is something that must be learned, and as such, it must also be practiced week-to-week in between lessons. I consider myself strict because I'll hold you accountable to doing your best to learn the best. Despite holding you accountable, I think the overall mood of the learning environment is laid back; we'll have a lot of fun learning music. I make sure that we'll be learning at your pace, but keep in mind, this doesn't mean I won't push you to be your best! My teaching experience has taught me one thing: everyone is different. That being the case, I create lesson plans that are unique to you. Where you will be in a month, six months, a year, largely depends on your commitment to learn, but I'll promise you this: all of my efforts will be utilized to maximize your potentiality.
*** Attendance Policy *** I am very flexible with attendance, but I do require a one hour notice that you will not be at the lesson. If a one hour notice is not given, the lesson will be marked as "missed" resulting in payment from your TakeLessons account for the missed lesson.
If you are simply running late, please be sure to let me know-I try to be as flexible as possible, but if the student is over 15 minutes late, I typically mark this lesson as "missed" as well.
*** Studio Equipment *** I provide the following equipment for in-studio lessons: Guitar amplifier Bass amplifier Drum Set Computer iPad Recording equipment Music stand Seating area for parents/guardians to sit/listen in on the lesson
*** Travel Equipment *** When offering in-home lessons, I provide the following when traveling for in-home lessons: iPad For in-home lessons, I expect students to have whatever equipment is necessary for learning their instrument of interest (This typically includes at least the student's instrument and a music stand, but may also include a metronome, tuner, etc.).
*** Specialties *** Rock, Jazz, Blues, Folk, Praise/Worship, Indie

We've only had 2 lessons so far and he is great! He is encouraging, polite, flexible, kind and takes the extra time if needed. He definitely knows how to teach and knows the natural developmental progression to build the foundation for a beginner and explains what the next goals she'll be working towards. He even learned a Justin Bieber song just to make my kid happy. Lol!

My goal is to make students speak the language in a very natural and easy way.

I've taken many Spanish lessons that have ranged from various software programs to personal tutors. Vania is great. She knows how to relate with each person in order to convey concepts. She's the best I have worked with.
She's also very accommodating, since I tend to change my schedule around a lot. She is always flexible to accommodate. Vania is simply great.
I have been teaching English for three years. I have a TEFL teaching certificate and over 200 hours of classroom experience. I have taught English in private and group settings. I can teach to children and adults.
Hello! Hola! Benvenuto! My name is Christopher S. and I am a classical guitarist, composer, polyglot, and experienced language and music teacher.
I am a recent graduate with a Doctorate of Music Arts degree from the University of South Carolina. I also graduated with my M.M. fro the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, MA. There I studied with the world-renowned guitarist Eliot Fisk who is a direct student of the legendary guitarist Andres Segovia.
Currently, I work part-time teaching 12 students guitar at the University of South Carolina, in Columbia. I also teach ukulele, Spanish, Italian, and English to a variety of students online. I have also just completed my debut album titled, "Anima - The Music of Spain and Italy for the Guitar." This album is a tribute and memorial to an amazing journey I had traveling and living
in Europe for 3 years.
After I graduated from my undergraduate degree, I realized that in order to better my skills as a musician and become the guitar teacher I wanted to be I had to travel abroad. I moved to Seville, Spain where for three years I studied the art of classical and flamenco guitar.
I studied with an internationally known Spanish guitarist named Francisco Bernier at the Conservatory in Seville. During this time I was also teaching English as a second language to high school and middle school students. From traveling and spending so much time in Europe, I also developed and studied my love of languages and I became fluent in Spanish and Italian.
The experienced was an experience of a lifetime and I made many friends working and living abroad that to this day, I still keep in contact with.
If you are interested in having lessons with me, please contact me and we can begin learning the art of making beautiful music or learning the beautiful languages of the Mediterranean! "Hasta pronto!" "A presto!" and "Speak to you soon!"
I am a student at SDSU. I am graduating next year. I have been tutoring for many years now. I am able to help with grammar, spelling, essay constructing, and English assignments.
I have been teaching and tutoring students for 6 years now. I teach math and guitar. The thing I love most about my teaching isn't the end result of a student's passing report card or a student's accomplishment of learning a difficult musical piece. It is the effort that takes place between the student and the tasks, along with guidance. The student's ability to think and approach the tasks, whether it is music, math, or English in a way that fully immerses the student's creativity and understanding is at the foundation of my teaching. I can help your child pass his/her tests, I can help them read music and play their favorite songs, but, I encourage them to overcome the challenges that they face when they are on their own in the classroom and practice room. This is the curriculum I teach. -Hissael R.

I hired Bruno to help me comprehend my book for class. He showed up and genuinely cared that I was getting it. He showed me a note taking idea that to me seemed that if I just wrote a couple of ideas down I’d go back and know where I was as far as going back and studying. He asked if I needed to write this point down and basically showed how to do the job. Great work.

Mr. Barbosa is a very outgoing person who always checks in on his students before we begin the lesson. At the
beginning of the lesson, we start with warm-ups so our voice is
ready to sing high or low notes. When you first start with Mr. Bar-
bosa, he will have you sing multiple songs and scales so he can
learn your vocal range. Mr. Barbosa makes sure that you understand
the content and if you don't, he is helpful and explains it in a way we
can comprehend. Lessons are a great way to improve your singing.
I’m becoming more comfortable performing in front of my peers.
I bring many years of experience in not only teaching a foreign language, but also being a student of several ones. I know how it feels to be learning a new code of communication, I try to make learning as enjoyable as possible and accessible to most.
I am a College educated native Spanish and English speaker who has been teaching and tutoring Spanish for about 7 years. My goal is to make learning Spanish enjoyable, and I want to help the students feel confident expressing their thoughts and ideas in this foreign language.
My approach is student centered, incorporating grammar, verbal comprehension and vocabulary acquisition . I try to lay down a strong foundation that will help the student succeed on every level and eventually attain fluency. I'm often approached by people who tell me that they took Spanish in H.S. or College and are frustrated because they can't understand a native speaker or communicate with them. Most likely they learned the theory of the language but had little opportunity to put it into practice. That is why conversation is such a key component of my teach
ing. No one can learn any language without developing verbal and listening comprehension skills. With me the student can choose their favorite topic and perfect their conversation skills in an environment where it's ok to make mistakes.
I understand the difficulties of learning a foreign language, and I'm very patient with my students. I carefully guide them from point A to point B, step by step. With this approach, I help them to discover how learning Spanish can be truly rewarding ! I look forward to meeting you and helping you reach your goals.
Good teacher. She is helping me to improve my pronunciation.

I am 48 years old who like the Spanish language and have been trying for a few years to learn it on my own. I have tried Duolingo, bought books, and watched Youtube Videos but I was still struggling to put a sentence together. I am taking lessons with Irene and I can see big progress. Irene tailors the sessions to my needs and toward my goal. She prepares the session, is on time and takes her time to make sure I am understanding the concepts. I really enjoy the class and look forward to it. Whatever is your goal, I recommend Irene.
I teach students how to writing essays, grammar, spelling techniques, phonics and pronounciation in English.
