Lauren taught my son saxophone for 5 years, beginning with his very first lesson at age 9, and continuing throughout middle school. She was always very patient, reassuring, and encouraging. Lauren really helped to develop my son's love for music and playing the sax! She prepared him for middle school jazz band auditions, and helped with his jazz band music throughout those years. Lauren challenged him with new selections when his school band music became too easy, but always allowed him to work at a pace he found comfortable. Now in HS, he's very busy with all things band, so lesson time is limited for him, but we wouldn't hesitate to call Lauren again.

Lauren has been giving my son saxophone lessons for over 4 years. She has been an excellent teacher always on time and available. He has progressed under her direction very well. Currently, she's teaching our daughter acoustic guitar and we've been very happy with her progress.

We had a little trouble with our connection but Lauren is great and very patient. Hopefully we can get all the issues with the connection worked out and we are looking forward to the next class! I think it’s going to help my daughter a lot!

Private Acoustic Guitar Teacher

I have been playing guitar for 15 years. I make lesson plans based on each individual, so I don't teach every one the same boring songs or use the same regiment with everyone. I want to teach you what YOU want to learn.

About Jeremie

I'm a self taught guitarist who has been playing for nearly 20 years. I have played professionally in numerous bands and ensembles ranging from jazz to folk to rock, and I've been writing music for the same length of time. I currently perform with one of my students from TakeLessons named Mackenzie O'Brien.

I graduated from Columbia College Chicago in May 2014 with a BA in Music Composition. I studied under composers: Drew Baker, Kenn Kumpf, Ilya Levinson, and Marcos Balter. I've performed and worked with members from the groups, Del Niente and Chicago's Composer's Collective.

I build my lesson plans around each of my students based on their interests. I'll try to incorporate music they enjoy into their music regime. I keep lessons pretty relaxed, but will challenge a student who is looking for something m

ore difficult. I go at the pace you learn best at!

Bass guitar, ukulele, song-writing, counterpoint, orchestrating, arranging, music theory, and composing are subjects I'm well versed in and love to teach to other people.

I'm experienced with all kinds of music software, such as: Pro Tools, Logic, Garage Band, Cubase, FL Studio, Finale, Sibelius. If you want to learn how to write, record, mix, and master your own music, there's never been a better time to learn.

I was very impressed with how Ryan engaged my son during his first lesson. He was able to make it fun and educational for him. I think what made a huge difference was his ability to hone in on what what kinds on music my son was interested in and some how work it in to the initial lesson plan. He showed him how much fun it could be and then was able to incorporate the basics from there. Also, he is extremely patient and laid back making it stress free. Thank you for a great lesson! We look forward to continuing more.

We scheduled Ryan to come to our house at a specific time to teach our 15 YO son. He did not show up and called 2 hours after the scheduled time to say he was misinformed by Take Lessons as to the time (even though we had confirmed the time at the beginning). We planned to resume the following week and again he did not show up. He did not reply to texts, his voicemail was not set up on his phone and he made no efforts to let us know that he had cancelled with us.

What a flake and a disappointment!

I've taught hundreds of lessons, over the past ten years. I have written, recorded, and produced my own songs, performed solo, and with bands. I have over 35 videos, and many of them are tutorials. I am sure I can teach and inspire you. Would you like to learn how to read music, or simply play your favorite songs? Or, perhaps you'd like to understand music better in general. Of course I can teach you scales, music theory, songwriting, and improvisation.

About Justin

I have played publicly in bands and as a solo act. I have written, produced, and recorded my own music. Otherwise, I have taught over a hundred lessons in my teaching career. You will be satisfied with me as your teacher.

I have been teaching music professionally since 2016 and I have successfully helped beginners and intermediate players find their voice and start playing with confidence.

If you are a beginner, you will be able to play and understand basic chord fingerings and fretboard patterns after working with me. More advanced players may learn how to play a song and/or practice music theory to strengthen their fretboard knowledge.

I typically use the Hal Leonard Complete Guitar Method Book as my teaching material. However, other materials may be integrated depending on the student's interests and skill level.

I have experience teaching people of all ages and skill levels. I look forward to utilizing my skills for you!

Private Acoustic Guitar Teacher

I offer tailored lesson plans that focus on your personal goals as a guitarist as well as aim to place student's on a firm foundation of music theory as applied to the guitar and collaborating with other musician's. With 13 years of learning and 4 years of giving it back under my belt, I'm grateful and dedicated to being able to offer affordable, high-quality and most importantly personal guitar lessons. All are welcome.

About Ken

I've been playing 🎸 for a little over 13 years now, with my base genre being blues to this day. I've also had the opportunity to delve into various other styles over the years through learning songs that I like, playing for 2 groups I got the chance to be a part of, having to learn pieces for music classes, or learning songs that students want to learn so that I can teach them. I played for 3 years before I started studying music theory so if you're in the same position I'd be happy to approach it with a perspective for guitar. Or we can focus on specific songs you might like to master. It's all up to you and I always keep it in mind to leave my student's in a position and a mindset to continue learning and most importantly: wanting to learn between lessons. Part of what I find important in achieving those two goals is one: making sure th

at the student's personal development path is always a priority; and two: making sure that what is taught is applied in a way that the student can continue self-directed development between lessons. Please get in touch and let me know what you have in mind.

4 Tips For Maximizing the Lifespan of Your Acoustic Guitar

By Suzy S.

Whether your acoustic guitar is brand new or gently used, you can do a few simple things to keep it in great condition! Follow these tips from guitar teacher Samuel B. to get the most out of your acoustic guitar... Let's face it. Acoustic guitars can be an outright nuisance to keep in shape.
