Acting for stage and screen will focus on choosing appropriate material, audition coaching, developing vocal ease and endurance, speaking with confidence, and textual interpretation.
I am a very positive and patient teacher. I focus 50% of my lessons on physical and vocal warm-ups and 50% on the student's chosen singing and/or acting repertoire. I look forward to working with students of all levels and find joy in helping people find their voice.
I earned my bachelor of music in vocal performance from the University of Redlands and my MFA in Acting from UCLA School of Theater, Film, and Television.
Annalise has a very impressive background in music and education, and it really reflects through her lessons with my daughter. She has instilled a lot of confidence in my daughter, to the point that she tried out for, and made, Advanced Choir at her school. I very highly recommend Annalise!

While acting is a magnificent art, it is also a labyrinth of techniques and ideologies. Throughout time there have been many disagreements about the best way to approach the teaching of acting, but I believe that no matter which way you enter the maze, we are all moving towards the same goal; that is to live truthfully in imaginary circumstances. The craft of acting can falter into a personal nature, however there are common terms and tools that can be learned to aid in achieving the universal goal that is set in front of us. I therefore am bound to teach and specify the rudimentary tools that I have come to consider profoundly vital to the integrity of any serious actor, many of which are drastically overlooked by most.
In An Actor Prepares Stanislavski writes, “… A nagging critic can drive an actor mad and reduce him to a state of helplessness. Search for falseness only so far as it helps you to find truth. Don’t forget that the carping critic can create more falsehood on ...

Her students come from all walks of life and have different goals, but they all have one thing in common. They love performing and have the desire to be the best at their chosen craft (singing/acting).
Some students want to sing/act for themselves, others want to sing/act for a hobby, and others want to be professional performers. That's where Rachel comes in. No matter what your goals are, she can help. Rachel teaches her students how to become true artists without tearing them down and without taking away the part of them that makes them unique. She teaches healthy technique that is based off of the human anatomy; the science of how the body/mind works and how the body/mind can work as efficiently as possible while singing or acting.
Learning how to sing/act is a process and doesn't happen overnight. Rachel's ultimate goal as a teacher is to not only make her students the best performers and singers they can be, but also give them all of the proper tools they need to have a more productive mind frame and become self-sufficient. Of course this can take years to master. It takes time and dedication.
OTHER LESSON INFORMATION

Gain a better tone quality, complete control of your voice, bigger range, more flexibility, and confidence. Learn healthy voice technique, how to fully take care of your own voice so you can sing for the rest of your life (even after lessons), and become a self sufficient performer for life.

CANCELLATION: 48 hour lesson cancellation policy and emergencies (determined by Rachel) are handled on a case by case basis. All students (or their parents/guardian if under 18) who have scheduled vacations and other activities (meetings, parties, school shows, concerts, rehearsals...etc) that interfere with the student’s regularly scheduled lesson time, need to contact Rachel as soon as the vacation/other activity is scheduled but no later than two weeks in advanced before their missed regularly scheduled lesson to prevent from forfeiting the lesson.
MAKE-UPS: Make-Up lessons will be scheduled if time allows. No Make-Up lesson or class will be given to ‘no shows’ or “late cancellation”, and no extra time to extend their lesson will be given to students who are late to their lesson or class. If there is ever a time Rachel is running late, extra time will be given to make the lesson a full 60 minutes. If Rachel needs to reschedule, a Make-Up lesson will be scheduled as close to the same week as possible. Make-Up lessons are scheduled at Rachel’s discretion.
ONLINE LESSONS FOR IN-PERSON LESSON CLIENTS: In the event that the student is sick but still would like their lesson, an online lesson will be scheduled instead. Students can NOT come to their in person lesson sick, coughing, sneezing, with a runny nose, cold, flu, allergies, fever, etc. (This is to make sure no germs will be spread).
An online lesson will also be scheduled if there is bad weather, if a student is having car trouble, or any other reason for the student not being able to physically get to Rachel’s private studio during their normally scheduled lesson time. Online lessons are conducted through Classroom, FaceTime, Google, Hangouts, or Skype.
SCHEDULE: Lessons are weekly, on the same time/day of the week unless we have rescheduled or we have discussed in writing another lesson plan. If the student’s lesson falls on a holiday, we will either reschedule or if no other day is available, resume the following week.
LATENESS: If a student is going to be late they need to contact Rachel as soon as possible, to let her know they will be late. Lessons will end on time unless she is able to extend the lesson due to a late student or her schedule allows for it though please understand, Rachel would be extending a courtesy and would not be obligated to do so. If on the rare occasion Rachel is running late, she will always make up the time.
SITTING IN: Parents/Guardians are ONLY permitted to stay for the first lesson and are NOT permitted to sit in for any other lesson/class unless invited. This is to promote good/strong teacher-student relationship quickly and easily. Also, many times students feel more comfortable when their parents/guardians leave. Of course there will be times when the parent will be invited back in at the end of some of the lesson to showcase progress.
COMMUNICATION: Due to Rachel's normally scheduling students one right after another without breaks, being in the recording studio, performing, or being on set, the best way to contact her is through text AND email. Please ALWAYS leave messages when calling Rachel with your name, contact info, AND the reason you are calling. Please be specific. Thank you!
"I try to be as fair as possible to both parties when it comes to cancellations, rescheduling, lateness, and make ups. Have a concern or question? Just talk with me. I'm all about communication!" - Rachel
Racheal did a wonderful job helping my daughter with her stage presence.
January 29, 2018
My 9 yr. old daughter received singing lessons with Rachel. Rachel was SO wonderful, patient, and creative with every session with her. She was constantly coming up with different ways to keep her engaged and was always reassuring her to increase her confidence. She gave great constructive feedback on how my daughter was doing and what she can work on to improve. I give her 5 stars! Thanks so much, Rachel!

Overall, very impressed. She is direct and doesn't tell you something you want to hear. Her evaluation process is well rounded and planned. She puts together a great curriculum to know what to expect in the coming lessons. Very easy going person and makes you feel completely comfortable at the initial lessons.
Greetings, my name is Kay. I have been singing and acting professionally since the age of 8. I started in Broadway Musicals and am presently an Opera and Sacred singer. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education and a Masters in Voice Performance. I have taught private voice lessons in New York City and southeast Wisconsin. My students vary in age from upper elementary to adult professional singers. These students are performing in schools, community theatres, professional dinner theatres, and professional stages in WI, Las Vegas, New York and L.A. The vocal technique I teach is unique and gives fast results. I love singing and helping other singers and actors reach their goals!
Kay seems very knowledgeable and has great experience!

I have been working with Kay for 4 years and have seen great improvement in not only my sound, but my technique, going from a frequent ensemble member, to being fortunate enough to be cast in leading roles, Kay has brought me a very long way.
April 5, 2019
Kay has been teaching me for about a year now and it has been a wonderful experience. She is always polite and kind when we meet, she is flexible with scheduling when the issues of life come up. Of course she is incredibly knowledgeable with vocal technique and the world of Professional Singing which is very helpful for someone like me who has little experience.
First and foremost, I'd like to hear your objectives for your lessons so I can structure each time to suit your goals. For advanced/intermediate students, we may be working on monologues or sides you've been sent for an audition (looking for specificity and strong, clear choices) or selecting materials for your audition package for colleges or general auditions. For beginners, we may work on gaining confidence speaking publicly, diving into characters, and working with text to tell stories.
Hi! I'm Carissa, a working actor and playwright, and would love to work with you on your craft! I grew up heavily immersed in the arts from a young age. For Middle School and High School I attended one of the top Performing Arts schools in the State of California, where I was able to take classes such as ballet, tap, jazz, acting, and playwriting daily. After that, I earned a spot in, and graduated from, the BFA Acting program at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. After taking a year to work professionally in theatre and television, I moved to Ireland to earn my MFA in Playwriting from The Lir Academy (an affiliate school of London's RADA). Teaching has been a big part of my life, from private study to running theatre camps for kids. I'm well versed in the drama school audition trail and would love to help you prepare fo
r this exciting time! I also offer playwriting lessons/critique, and beginner lessons in dance (ballet, jazz, tap). I look forward to hearing from you!
I'm really impressed!!! Carissa met all my expectations and even more. For a very short period of time, she has taught me how to improve my intonation by using positive phrases and believing in them. It really helps, I feel like I got her energy and positiveness. Thanks Carissa! Look forward to the next lesson!

Absolutely the best acting instructor I could get!!
I'm passionate about the arts and love to teach! I have over 17 years of performing arts experience, and 5 years of teaching experience (K-8th grade music, as well as dance and musical theatre camps for kids in my community). I received my Bachelor's degree in 2013, studying Theatre, Music, and Art.
What makes acting lessons with me unique is that I have a background in music and dance as well--as musical theatre is my specialty. As a teacher, I will tailor my lessons around you, at your own pace, and will do my best to meet your individual needs as a student and performer. After learning what your goals are, I will provide a variety of material for you to prepare and perform. Together, you will do in-depth analysis of the scenes, breaking down every beat and discovering acting tactics, or character objectives. I also offer an Audition Prep course!
Hey there! I'm passionate about the arts and I think you'll really enjoy taking lessons! I have over 17 years of performing experience and 5 years of teaching experience. As a spunky three-year-old, I would sing and dance to my dad's piano accompaniment at home. In my childhood, I would perform with my family at church functions. I had my first solo in a choir concert at school when I was 12. And since then, I have continued to perform solos at various athletic events, graduations, restaurants, and in competitions. I enjoy songwriting and recording covers of songs from a variety of music genres—including Pop, Christian, Adult Contemporary, R&B, Jazz, and Country.
Some of the neat opportunities I have had as a performer include: winning the top 10 in a national vocal competition in 2015, where I was featured as a soloist on artist Jenn
y Phillips’ studio album; winning 2nd place at the American Idol Experience competition at Disney World in 2014; playing “Eve” in the musical Children of Eden, at BYU-Idaho in 2010, and "Sister Mary Robert" in the musical Sister Act, through community theatre in Montana in 2018. I had a callback film audition two years ago for the role of "Beth," in an adaptation of Little Women, but instead had the fun experience of being an extra, as well as playing the lead actress's double. I submitted my original song, "Believe," written for the movie, in a competition the movie producers held--and made the top 10. Also, in 2012, I was able to be an extra in a music video starring Alex Boyé and Carmen Rassmussen--and in 2017, I was a musical theatre judge for a high school regional drama competition in Utah.
I'm currently in my fourth year of teaching music part-time at a K-8th grade school in Montana, which involves directing the Christmas musicals each year.
As a teacher, I will tailor my lessons around you, at your own pace, and will do my best to meet your individual needs as a student and performer. I am loving, creative, and meticulous--and great with children! We're going to have so much fun and I look forward to sharing my knowledge and passion for the arts with you!
I loved how friendly and personable that Clarissa was. Her passion for the arts was evident as she taught. The techniques and tips she shared were very informative and helpful. She had me do various exercises and activities that made it an overall enjoyable experience. I highly recommend Clarissa as a teacher!

I have nothing but positive things to say about Lawrence. Honestly he is such a great teacher and really cares about your progress and tries to help and make you understand everything that he teaches. I always looked forward to my lessons with him. It was my first time doing acting lessons online and he set the standard high. Thank you Lawrence being part of my journey and helping me become a better actress.
I am a singer songwriter and actress and have been performing my whole life. I have trained both in theater and most especially in TV work. I studied at the Beverly Hills Playhouse in Los Angeles for two years while I was living there for work.
Hi! I am a singer/songwriter and actress.
I am graduating from Berklee College of Music, after studying at the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami for 3 years (I majored in Music Business with a minor in song writing).
I just moved back to Miami from living in Los Angeles for 2 years to write and record my EP. During my time in LA, I also furthered my training in acting for film and songwriting. I also shadowed videographers in LA and learned how to film and edit videos, which is why I opened a vlog channel to support my music.
I have been performing ever since I was a child. Some of my most important performances include: performing duets with Phil Collins both in Miami and in Switzerland, singing the National Anthem at the Heat Quarterfinals in 2013, being on THE VOICE in Italy, performing my original songs at a Phil C
ollins foundation in Paris, being the opening act for the United Nation's International Year of Youth in New York City, and performing the National Anthem at the Miami Open.
I speak and sing in 3 languages - English, Spanish, and Italian. I am originally from Rome, Italy.
I am completely aware of all musical genres, and especially what is current at the moment. I encourage students to bring in whatever music they feel is best for them and also challenging. Being a songwriter, I persuade students to bring in their own songs (if they write) so that we can work on the songs and most importantly, performing them. My main goal is that students become great performers, while primarily having mastered their technique for their vocal health and longevity.
