Become comfortable with daily conversational Japanese. I also offer music lesson in Japanese.

About Asuka

I started my musical training as a pianist at YAMAHA institute at age 4 in Japan. I was selected to enter perfect pitch class. It was designated for students who have perfect pitch and potentials to be professional musicians. I enjoyed playing piano and electric piano and won the 1st prize at Ki

Asuka is exceptional. Hard to process how someone as accomplished as she could be this patient. Encouraging and positive. Wonderful teacher.

Asuka, was wonderful. I've been looking forward to learning Japanese for a long time. She is very detailed and patient. Excellent teacher!
Lukas
On behalf of my son who is 15. Before finding Asuka, Lukas had taken voice lessons from several very good teachers (between breaks we would experiment with teachers).
Now with Asuka he feels most comfortable and feels he learns more per lesson with Asuka. More progress with all aspects of voice. She helps prepare for auditions with Broadway vocals and advance on the more serious and challenging Opera selections.
So the actual lessons are great and Asuka is also a charm; engaging and personable. As the parent I very much like she remains a professional singer as her career.
So we are staying with Asuka through the breaks and may even extend into piano lessons as well.
I would recommend Asuka without hesitation.

First lesson with Mr Park was really good. I have never used an online tutor before so I didn’t know what to expect. He did very well in assessing my current level and pushing thru material. Even limited self study he still covered things that I didn’t know that was pertinent to the language and I appreciate the way he explains things. The language is not a 1-1 and Mr Park did well in explaining how it converts over.

I am a private tutor of Japanese for all ages, currently from age 7 to middle-age. I love to be a witness when my students suddenly "get" something new we've been working on for a while. Japanese is a fascinating, beautiful, and complicated language, and it's exciting to be a partner in my students' achievements and success!

I have a lot of experience teaching middle school and high school age students--including my own kids, whom I homeschool. My first visit to Japan was a semester study abroad in my senior year of high school, and I've lived there off and on since then. My students receive the benefit of my life experiences there, including preparation for the realities of daily life in Japan--from how to use the public transit, to what to do during a natural disaster.

Along with my on-the-ground experience working in Japan as a translator/interpreter in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment, I hold an M.A. in Japanese and N1 (highest level) certification on the Japanese ...

As a non-traditional aged student, I was very intimidated by the Japanese language at the start of my lessons. Clare's patient and understanding instruction has been of immense help in my otherwise self-directed studies, and I'd highly recommend other adult learners take classes with her!

Ever since I discovered Dragon Ball Z on Toonami back in the early 2000's, I have come to develop a love of all things Japan, specifically anime and J-pop. My experience with learning Japanese started back when I started studying at home with my older brother back in 1999 or so, and then started studying Japanese at college, which culminated in the completion of a minor in Japanese as part of my BA. I have also visited Japan one time to visit my older brother who was teaching English over there at the time. I love Dragon Ball (among many, many other anime) and T.M. Revolution.

This is especially evident in the music scene, which includes a vast array of artists who perform everything from J-Pop and J-Punk, to traditional and folk-style Japanese songs. …
