Tone, phrasing, and technique are what make up the bulk of the practice we will do.
My favorite composers I like to play are Bach, Andrew York, M. Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Mauro Giuliani, and Fernando Sor, but the door is always open to any repertoire you would like to bring in.

Our lessons will be relaxed and fun. I take pride in tailoring my curriculum to the needs and goals of each individual student- This helps me make sure that you are learning at a pace that feels comfortable for you, yet challenging.
We will work together to develop both your musicianship and creativity. I am a firm believer in music being a healing and mind-opening practice. One of my primary goals while teaching is to give my students an outlet to express themselves in a healthy and meaningful way. Let's get started!
Topics we can focus on together:

- Strumming/finger-picking patterns
- How to sing and play at the same time
- Songwriting/Recording techniques
- Lyric Writing
- Stage Presence
- Exploring different musical genres

Just like a classical approach on piano, I believe that a similar approach on guitar is the best method. It helps establish good technical foundations, it gets you playing better, sooner and it also helps remove the mystery from some aspects of music.
A classical guitar approach takes lots of patience, but is very rewarding. Studying from a method book such as the “Berklee Guitar Method” is the first step. Then, learning to play Bach and other early composers is next. Playing in all major and minor keys and learning solo pieces is a long term goal.

If you're a fan of classic country music, you've come to the right place. Here, guitar teacher Willy M. shares his favorite classic country songs for guitarists... I grew up in the late '70s and early '80s in the rural Midwest when "Hee-Haw," a country television program, was something that everyone knew about. It was the Grand Ole Opry’s rendition of a high-theatrical experience, and a showcase for classic country artists to play their tunes. Willie Nelson, one of my favorite songwr …
