Gabriel is an amazing music teacher not only is he helping me with bass guitar but also understanding a bit of music theory. He shows me ways to to help maximize the amount of learning I can get out of practicing. Overall he is a great teacher with knowledge of a multitude of instruments and music in general.

I can teach traditional classical guitar finger picking techniques using a nylon string guitar. I can also teach fingerpicking on steel string acoustic guitar, as well as performing and arranging classical pieces on the electric guitar. I also love to make my own arrangements of classical pieces from other instruments. My personal favorites to perform are J. S. Bach and Heitor Villa-Lobos.

I have three goals for each individual student. First, is for the student to understand and learn the fundamentals of the basic flamenco forms and techniques. Second, is to take what he or she has learned and apply it (e.g., composing his or her own riffs and/or accompanying other musicians). Finally, I want each student to share what he or she has learned with others--pass it on!

About Ben

EDUCATION I hold and M.P.A. and a B.A. from California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) in Public Administration (what does that have to do with the Flamenco guitar?); prior to that degree, I received an A.A. in Political Science (again, what does that have to do with Flamenco guitar?). Curren

Eric is the greatest. I enjoyed the experience working with him, how he took me to the another level with my voice. He is a great musician and teacher. Looking forward to working with him again.
Chelsea
Overall I had a good experience with Eric. I was hoping to learn more technical skills about the voice and breathing tips and tricks which I feel like I didn't get much of. For me, that was a miss but he has some really great warm-ups that I have still been utilizing. I feel that most of the lesson was just about getting through songs versus understanding areas of difficulty within the voice and why that issue is occurring.
Gigi
I found Eric Jayk through the group online classes and wow, what a great Teacher. I’ve taken several of the classes with many different Teachers but after taking one class with Eric J I keep coming back to his Classroom. He is practically a musical genius. You can tell he is very talented yet he has a unique way of making you feel at ease which is the key to learning to singing well. He really knows how to get you to where you want to go in the quickest time. I have struggled with vocal nodules many years ago and after taking classes with him I now know why. I am learning how to place my voice correctly in the mask and also how to properly use my breath so as to control everything. He is the best Teacher I’ve come across thus far for singing. He sends recap videos afterwards for you to use in practice as well. Love his classes and how kind, patient and professional he is. He’s not limited to one type of music. He teaches you so that you can sing ANYTHING. Thanks alot.

"I started playing the classical guitar for just fun years ago, and lived in such remote areas that finding a teacher was impossible. As fortune had it, I moved to Tempe and hooked up with Jaxon through TakeLessons.com. He's a great instructor that is patient and won't ever make you feel bad about not having time to practice. He didn't immediately show off his amazing guitar playing ability, but instead directed all his attention at me, the student. His flexible teaching style helped me translate the music knowledge I already had onto the classical guitar. If you follow his methods, you'll be amazed at how fast you improve! I would highly recommend Jaxon to anyone even remotely thinking about playing classical guitar music."

"I have been taking lessons in classical style guitar from Julie for about two years. She has patiently brought me through increasingly more difficult technique by choosing a wide variety of challenging but enjoyable pieces to practice. I am gradually working my way up the fret towards the 5th position. She has helped me with theory, including rhythm, the major and minor scales and chord building. Her empathy is a particular blessing for me because of my poor eyesight and the arthritis in my wrists, hands and fingers.”"

4 Essential Classic Rock Guitar Solos That Will Make You a Better Player

Learning to play other people's guitar solos is a great way to begin learning to write your own! Guitar teacher Nils B. shares his tips to learning four classic rock solos so you can develop your technique... An essential part of every musician's development is to imitate those who have already mastered their instrument. After settling on a song, give it a couple of close listens (preferably on headphones or a decent stereo), pick up a good transcription, then learn the rhythm parts, while …
