I can teach you how to read music. You would be able to understand keys, rhythm, dynamics, ect.
As a vocal teacher I focus on the correct method to singing that helps keep your voice beautiful and healthy. I earned my bachelors degree in music education with an emphasis in vocals. I learned music appreciation, theory, history, choral singing and classical voice training. I love music and cannot picture life without it. Music is an expression of life! I also love to teach music to others as I feel I'm passing on a great gift.
*** Lesson Details *** As a teacher I fall somewhere in between strict and laid back. For instance, if you don't practice I won't scold you, but I will remind you that you can only be as good as you work to be. If you don't want to put in the effort you will waste your time and money, as well as not receive the results that you were desiring. Our lessons will consist of many vocal exercises, go
od posture, and breathing techniques. One rule that I have is that I don't move you on to another song until you have successfully learned all you can from the first one you try. There is no point in learning another song when you have only learned the first one at a mediocre level. If you are serious about becoming a better singer/musician you will enjoy our lessons. I encourage my students to strive for excellence and will do all I can to draw that out of you.
*** Travel Equipment *** I provide the tools to learn theory, songs to choose from and I do have my own portable keyboard. Students would need to have a tape or digital recorder to record their lessons and a positive attitude.
*** Specialties *** I specialize in classical voice, and vocal training, (learning how to use your voice properly).
Vanessa is very patient and caring. If you have some trouble, she will work with you to fix it. She helps you improve your voice like no other instructor! After only a few lessons, I know that I have way more confidence and control than I ever did before. I definitely recommend her to anyone like me who wants to sing to their fullest potential.

Andrew is such a great teacher! I'm a beginner guitar player who wanted to learn some of the basics and work on my technique, and Andrew was so patient and really took the time to work with me. Very easy-going and helpful, even though I know I'm not the best player. He clearly knows what he's doing when it comes to anything guitar-related and I cannot wait to set up another lesson. I already feel more confident in my abilities! Thanks Andrew!

I am an avid clarinetist, energetic performer and enthusiastic teacher. My dream career is to be a soloist like Martin Frost, to play in an orchestra, or compose and perform my music. My passion for teaching is similar to my passion for performing, and I have experience teaching privately since 2013 and in front of large groups, as a staff member for a high school marching band. My teaching style is all about fundamentals as I try and break down the things you need to know about playing into easy to understand fundamentals that can be applied to all future playing.
"Thanks Rosita for your patience, for your cares and effort on making us better singers. Although some of us in the Church quire had no idea of what correc

"One of the best teacher I have ever had!!
I highly recommend him! He is one of the best!!!!!"
"This tutoring session was probably the best I have ever had. I am taking a Music 101 course in which I am finding myself having trouble with. I took up tu
toring with Stephen and he really broke down the steps. Sometimes, I do not understand things the first time when they are explained to me; and reading music happens to be one of them. However, I am very lucky to have Stephen as my tutor who is very patient in explaining the lesson to me. If you want a tutor who is patient and willing to invest time in helping you understand music, I highly recommend that you take Stephen."
"Trevor was very engaging and taught the fundamentals of music theory very well!"
"I have been taking flute lessons for over a year with Heidi and totally love her. She is so patient and understanding. My husband and I are also taking He
idi's Music Theory on-line class which is amazing. We are learning so much. My performance on my flute has improved dramatically since starting my lessons with Heidi. She has so many innovative ideas in regards to teaching. Her compassion for music is very contagious. No matter what the age of the student I feel that Heidi will meet the student where they are and help them grow into the musician they desire to be."
"Composer here, who studied with Bill. A kind and insightful teacher! Bill was always ready to help with odd requests for pieces I was working or intereste
d in as we went over piano topics, music theory, and ear training. Gave me a great foundation to work with."
"Catherine always found different ways to explain theory points that I didn’t understand. She always found time to meet with me and definitely put 100% eff
ort even when she was having a recital or in an opera. She is honestly why I was able to pass TP 1, 2, and 3. She is a natural teacher. I am so thankful to have had her the past two years as my theory and keyboard tutor."
"Great first lesson"
"Sasha is a very good teacher, extremely patient and attentive. She does a good job of structuring the lessons around your specific needs, adapting them to
