I have been teaching piano and flute for 16 years and am a classically trained musician. I incorporate fun activities for my younger students to stay engaged and my older students learn the skills to excel for the instrument while relaxing after a long day of work or family responsibilities. Lessons are customized and catered to the needs/goals of each student. Not only will you be playing songs in no time, but you will be building a strong foundation of note reading, music theory, ear training, sight reading, technique, and more. Let's get started!

About Sarah

I am so excited for the opportunity to teach music to those interested in learning and growing in their musical knowledge! I teach piano, flute and I also have multiple years experience with the Piccolo, Alto, and Bass Flutes. I have been playing the piano for 21 years and the flute for 19 years.

Sarah is an excellent teacher! I started taking lessons with her a few years ago and she was very gracious with me as I struggled learning. She's helped me so much. I've come a long way from struggling with Hot Cross Buns to playing full chord progressions and being able to hear songs and play chords that correspond with the music.

Not only does she do a great job of teaching the technical basics, she also includes a great amount of music theory in the process which is super helpful!

My teaching style is very flexible, though I expect dedication and hard work from my students. "We have a kid that has major anxiety issues, quit piano after a couple of years of learning nothing, and didn't want to play a musical instrument for the rest of her life. She was forced to take an instrument in school, and ended up borrowing my (older than I'd like to admit) flute. We searched for a teacher that "got" anxiety kids, and found Isaiah. In less than a year, my daughter is better on flute than I was after taking years of lessons. She adores Isaiah, and was so good after only playing for couple of months last year that she ended up playing a duet for the whole school at the winter concert. This was from the kid who wanted to change schools rather than take mandatory band class. He's an amazing teacher."
