Jason is a fantastic teacher and really easy to work with. We focused on fundamentals and understanding the fret board. This was a new approach for me as he weeded out bad habits and taught me proper form. It took a month or so, but when i was able to develop an ease with the fret board and spacial awareness with my strumming hand, I was able to navigate the guitar with so much more confidence.

Highly recommend working with Jason as he is patient and wants you to become a strong musician instead of learning a few songs really well. Also, he is upbeat and provides good feedback so you continue to develop and grow.

"Ryan was great! He's obviously a talented guitarist and he is very laid back and makes you feel comfortable. He shows you in detail what you need to do to become a better guitar player. My ONLY advice, and the reason he doesn't get 5 stars, is I think he should have more visual aids with his lessons. For example, write down the different scales or transcribe the first several measures of a song. Then, one has something to refer back to when you are practicing and invariably get stuck. Other than that, I would highly recommend Ryan as a guitar teacher!"

"Very patient and informative. Allowed me to ask endless questions. Addressed all my concerns and removed any doubt about this arrangement working specifically for me and my schedule. His studio has a very nice setup and it's simplified. We did a breakdown of my experience and focused on setting realistic goals towards my learning process. More than a "Teacher" of music but a "Professor" of guitar methods! "I have been studying with Ahmad for just about 2 months. But that's enough for me to say he is an awesome guitar teacher. I think his teaching experience and method is a huge advantage for people who need professional guidance.

I was self-teaching for about a year before I came to Ahmad. It worked out just fine. I learned something. But I started to get confused at a point where I don't know how to move forward. I like a very specific group of guitarist (mostly Japanese fingerstyle players). And I wanted to learn how to master songs from those guitarist. And there is no such website or book that would teach me how to do that. Most of the guitar books or websites either give out general informations or put all information together as a mess.

Finally I decided to find a teacher. I found the lesson with Ahmad pretty effective. He is an experienced teacher who knows what you need to learn in order to achieve your goal. He has plenty of handouts that really helps me practice. The most important thing I learned from him is the big picture of guitar learning. For example, I learned the connection between scales and chords, why/how to improvise with these, how to go from there to other relevant things, etc.

When I look back over a year, I realize I have wasted some much time and effort trying to teach myself and wish it could have similar outcome as having a good teacher. Studying with Ahmad saves me so much time and effort (because it's actually easier!)"
