About Mary

Music degree from Lawrence University and Conservatory in Appleton, WI. Graduate work in conducting, piano, and vocal pedagogy at Westminster Choir College in Princeton. Also certified in Kindermusik for ages newborn to 7.

My studio, since 1993 is located in the back of my house and is in a family friendly location.

As my education originally was music education, elementary and secondary, I have gone on to be certified in teaching adults, both beginning and returning. There is so much piano and vocal educational material geared to the pre-school, the elementary, Jr-Sr high and Adult beginner and I promise we will have fun while learning.....

Anyone can learn an instrument and anyone can learn many different styles. Lessons will be geared toward your interests and goals, which we can work on at your lesson also.

The grea

test virtues of a music teacher are passion, patience, understanding, and communicating. You will experience this in the studio. Give yourself a treat of two months of lessons and I promise you will be playing and/or singing better than you expected.

I am generally easy going and laid-back and will work with you to obtain specific goals such as a piece you would really like to learn. I can be strict if assignments are not followed or if there is no progression; we need to analyze why that is. I use many teaching methods as there are many different learning styles. The series I am currently using are Faber, Alfred, and Celebrate Piano! for pianists. Many singers are in Broadway, Disney, and/or English Reliquary and Italian Arias. There are so many wonderful choices! I can guarantee after three months you will be playing some music you like, and you will be reading music, and able to perform if you wish (starting small). With singing you will have basic knowledge of proper posture, breathing, and increased range. I also so enjoy people and communicating so you will feel comfortable taking lessons, and I believe that is one major factor of success in learning an instrument: the student-teacher relationship And second for children, especially the young, is the parent-teacher relationship .

*** Studio Equipment ***
Studio: Yamaha baby grand piano, Kawaii studio upright and keyboard, Yamaha keyboard, recording abilities, computer software, couch and two chairs, parents can sit in on lesson. Also have computer programs for note learning, composition, as well as giving you apps to download.

*** Specialties ***
Different methods for different students. Piano: mostly Faber and Alfred series. "Prodigy": Aaron/Thompson series. I've also had graduate study in teaching the Adult Beginner! As I was a church music director 1994 till last September, I am very familiar with traditional and contemporary sacred music, learning and performing. If you also wish to combine singing and accompanying yourself on piano or guitar lessons can be tailored.

Private Singing Teacher

Singing is my specialty. As the vocalist for Sony Records band Atom Smash I toured for over 1000 shows and have found tricks to keep your voice up to par while singing aggressively. Most coaches focus on classical methods that would'nt stand up to the modern market of music. Using my methods and coaching your voice will be healthier, more stylized, and you will have the stamina to play 200 shows per year like I have. Im a passionate coach that takes my students under my wing.

About Sergio

Hi, I'm Sergio. I am a producer/songwriter and I teach voice and guitar in Nashville, TN. Ive been teaching voice and guitar for 7 years. I was previously on Sony Records. I'm an experienced touring lead singer/musician in an internationally recognized rock band called Atom Smash. I've had several top 40 singles and a #1 Sirius/XM single. I write for both WWE & CBS. My mentor is Greg Drew, vocal coach to the stars (Avril Lavigne, Lenny Kravitz, etc.) My clients include country superstar Morgan Wallen and alternative artist Briston Maroney. Several of my clients have gone on to be finalists on Amercian Idol, the Voice and have signed record deals. Now enough about me and let’s get your passion for music rolling. I work with beginner to advanced vocalists and also have a fun lesson plans for kids as well. All ages and levels welcome. L

ets take you to the next level!

*** Lesson Details ***
My lessons plan is detailed and I use affective methods such as recording. At the end of every lesson, we video/record what you need to work on. It doesn't stop with technique, you will learn performance and songwriting as well. A singer will have the tools to create their own custom warmup routines. Music is supposed to be fun and expressive. Let me help you do this at the best level you can!

*** Studio Equipment ***
Studio room, guitar, recording equipment, seating for parents.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I provide a guitar

*** Specialties ***
Hard Rock, Blues, Country, Metal, and R&B.
I have played 1,000 shows over the years and using the skills I've learned and developed I've only had to cancel 2 shows because of losing my voice.

As mostly a backing vocalist in my band, I needed a teacher who could take me from an intermediate level to advanced. The result is the lead singer noticing my improvements to the extent that more lead vocal parts are now being assigned to me. Sergio is patient and non-judgmental, creating a space to start wherever I am at the time and climb the ladder of skill at my own pace. His astonishing insights of the areas I was struggling with helped me laser in on them. So glad I went weekly with him for three months of improvement that would have taking me years on my own or with marginally helpful Youtubes. Go pro! Go Sergio!

TUTORING AND ENRICHMENT

PIANO, ORGAN AND SINGING CLASSES!!!

Reading and Phonics is a weekly or Bi-weekly Program. It can be taught as either a full learn to read program, homeshool course or as a tutoring program for problem or challenging areas.

Math learning i

s in attainable and non-stressful increments designed to foster a complete understanding of mathematical concepts and their relationships and to foster a "I CAN DO IT! ATTITUDE!

Do you want lessons that will cater to your needs or the needs of your child and not a book?

My Reading and Phonics lessons are made to dazzle and awe your child into an understanding of letters, sounds, and the written page with several learning enrichment programs as well as numerous supplemental material. I also love to work with teachers when possible and use placement tests to determine where to start and periodically to know how to continue. (The kids just think they are games).

All of my lessons are designed to foster a love for reading, math or music and focus on your reading and Phonics goals or your dream in the music world as well as build knowledge and expertise for all three!

Whether it be a specific genre, general, academic reading, computation, repertoire, not wanting to stumble over words or just wanting to play or sing the songs you enjoy, I have the curriculum and supplemental material to reach your reading, math or music goals!

Beginner? We can get you started on the right foot! I have experience with tweens, teens, adult beginners, seniors and children of all ages. I have special curriculum and activities that enhance interest, reduce stress and help you to maintain what you learn.

Pre-schoolers have a curriculum all their own that teaches phonics, reading or music through lovable animal characters with games on tablet, computer and other resources that teach, reinforce and excite their hearts to learn and retain what they learn.

Does your child have some knowledge but just has not excelled in math, phonics or reading? We can tailor lessons for just that.

Maybe you have some music knowledge but just can't play or sing that special song? We can tailor lessons for that, too!

Maybe your child knows letters and sounds but just hasn't made the leap to reading? We can tailor the lessons to get your child from point B to Z!
Perhaps math is a dirty word or causes your child to cringe or have great anxiety! I would love to help them to enjoy math instead of feeling annoyed at math.

Can you read music but not play on your own? Can you play by ear and not read music? I have experience bridging the gaps.

Is your dream to become a Soloist, harmonizer or karaoke star? Accompany yourself or others or just play for fun? Then why not you and I embark on that exciting journey together!

Is your dream just for your child to be able to read at grade level or above? I will give it my all for them to do so.

Is your dream to become a church musician or play for a choir? or Are you already a church musician but need help with a particular song, program or musical?

Does your Church just sing Hymns? We can do Hymn Lessons.

Does your Church sing only Gospel? We can do Gospel Lessons?

Does your Church only do Contemporary Christian? We can do Contemporary Christian Lessons.

Want to learn it all?

Worship to Him and service to others is the reason that I do what I do!

Try us! You'll be glad you did!!!!

I am a very laid back instructor, though the classes are very well structured.

Usually, we progress with a chosen curriculum according to the student's or parent's vision and initial overview during the 1st few classes. However, all curriculums are supplemented to enhance student performance and comprehension. Our supplemental material is used to go swifter for material that you grasp well and understand, and slower with more repetition for that that you need more practice, without being monotonous. It is also used to provide appropriate but exciting reinforcement of all material to ensure that material is retained.

We are forever updating material and also incorporate games and enhanced activities to keep lessons interesting and refreshing as well!

I also have experience in teaching autistic, ADD, ADHD and those with varying degrees of brain damage.

Private Singing Teacher

My goal is to train voices to sing in a free, natural manner, while keeping your lessons engaging and fun.

Good singing technique offers you many more options as a singer. Technique can ultimately give us more freedom to express ourselves as artists, assisting style and expression. I will work with you so that as a singer, you will be able to sing through a greater range with more consistency. As a performer. you will become confident that your voice will deliver time after time.

About Teresa

I was born into a family of musicians. We must have had every style of music floating around every family gathering. I would roam with delight among the Mariachis, Rockers and R&B singers and musicians in my family. As early as 3 or 4 years old, in an effort to get me to quit bugging them, they began to invite me to sing with them.... at least that way I wasn't twirling around knocking down their equipment, or asking a bunch of questions while they were rehearsing or jamming. Music was always and continues to be part of my existence, as normal to me as breathing. I love to sing and enjoy sharing that passion with others. It makes my day to see my students grow in their talents and confidence.

From beginners who just want to sing for fun to the more experienced vocalists, I can help you understand how your voice works and how to ge

t the most out of it.

**In your first lesson, I will get to know you by asking for your vocal history, influences, goals, and style. Most importantly, ‚ÄúWhat would you like to get out of this lesson?‚ÄĚ Every singer has different challenges, needs, and goals, so I approach each student and lesson as a unique experience where the student‚Äôs most pressing needs will be addressed.

I’ll give you an honest idea of where your voice needs to grow and then will work with the tools to get there! You will get a personalized lesson plan to practice with. Like a gym workout routine, these exercises will target your weak areas to correct bad habits and build a strong, balanced instrument.

**I will ask you to sing a song‚Ķ‚Ķ your latest repertoire, ‚ÄúHappy Birthday,‚ÄĚ "twinkle twinkle little star", something just to get an idea of your voice and style. Then I will take you through a few singing technique exercises to quickly assess your strengths and challenges.

**As your technical abilities grow, you need to apply them to songs. The key is to maintain the same easy feeling in your songs that came out in the exercises. Bring in your music and we can work out any kinks and I will also suggest appropriate material in your key and style that will build upon the successes of your exercises. Stylistic and performance coaching is available, but our focus is technique, if you don’t learn HOW to sing, WHAT you sing will always be limited. I will work with you so that as a singer, you will be able to sing through a greater range with more consistency. As a performer. you will become confident that your voice will deliver time after time. My goal is to help you sing in a free, natural manner, while keeping your lessons engaging and fun.

-EAR TRAINING -
As a choir and vocal director, I am trained to listen and pay special attention to all the details including pitch, vibrato, dynamic and harmonies. I will help you learn to listen and gain confidence to "hear" progressions in the music and their voice.

-STYLES/GENRES -
Being a worship leader, choir and vocal director in a major urban church in the Sacramento area, I have over 13 years experience as a gospel artist and contemporary christian singer, singing, performing and recording with many gospel artists and contemporary christian artists, both local and professional. I have recorded and performed with such artists as Israel Houghton, Lincoln Brewster, BJ Putnan, Trent Corey, Darnisha Taylor and the Porter Brothers.

-SINGING/VOICE TRAINING -
I am a Voice Teacher (student) with the Institute for Vocal Advancement. The IVA technique is based on 17th and 18th Century principles of singing developed by the Old Italian School of Singing. Our goal is to train voices to sing in a free and natural manner, smoothly, from the bottom of the range to the top with no breaks or sudden changes in quality. Training in this technique gives the singer access to all dynamics, with tonal clarity and flexibility. Also, training in this technique helps improve a singer's range, endurance, stamina, breath control, resonance, vocal strength and vocal quality across all styles of music without fatigue or damage to the voice. We accomplish these results by training the singer to find a balance between airflow and intrinsic muscular resistance, all within a resting laryngeal posture.

=PERFORMANCE OR AUDITION PREP-
As a former entertainment business professional and singer, I have experience in dance, choreography, stage blocking, performance technique and vocal coaching. I will help you prepare for your performances and/or auditions to present the best YOU, that you can be!

I am very lucky to have Teresa as my vocal teacher. Her passion for music is contagious and when she sings, her soul comes through. She's patient, encouraging and energizing. I love lessons with her, she truly cares for all of her students and she adjusts the lessons based on how comfortable you feel. Not only is she a great teacher but she also has an amazing personality and a tremendous amount of energy.

Within a few months, my vocal range has extended and I learned how to make my voice sound more powerful. Vocal training really doesn't get any better than this!

Lessons will consist of a warm up and repertoire work! I am a firm believer of a strong foundation for singing, meaning creating a good breath support system, working on consistency in the voice, and doing what makes each singer comfortable. I want everyone to truly enjoy what they sing, and so choosing repertoire will be a very collaborative process! My main goal is for growth in the singer, as a person and as a musician. For more information, give me a call, shoot me an email, or even a text. I look forward to working with you!

About Kate

Hi! My name is Kate! I am a vocal performance major at Baylor University. In high school, I was a member of the all state choir three times, and I was awarded 1-Superior Solos at state solo and ensemble. Post-high school, I’ve won various awards, such as placing at the NATS conference. I am a member of the Baylor Opera Theater department as well as Chamber Singers and the A Cappella Choir. I am very passionate about what I do and I encourage an attitude of optimism, no matter what the outcome!
As for my personal life, I am from Denton (north Texas) and live in Waco currently. I have two sisters and a brother in Denton as well as 4 dogs! My house was always a loud one so I’m used to a little chaos (and controlling it). I’m really easygoing and encouraging. I’m also a huge history nerd and am working on a minor in history. I know a lot abou

t music theory and have some basic piano skills if you’re ever interested in learning any of that! Overall, I’m here to help and encourage!

I truly feel that voice lessons are a collaborative experience for both teacher and student. I want to get to know you and your voice and help you develop your own stand-out musical style!

I am a professional singer based in Astoria, Queens. Regardless of style, I believe the foundation of good singing is a healthy technique. As a performer I mainly sing opera and musical theater, but have experience and love to teach all styles including pop, rock, and jazz in addition to opera and musical theater.

It is most important to me to have an open, encouraging, safe and healthy environment when learning singing. No matter the level, vocal ability or goal for your music lessons, I will meet you where you are at and help you reach your goals. I believe the process of goal setting and accomplishments are steps to success in a lesson and beyond. I am committed to being present and helping you reach whatever is bringing you to lessons.

Being a well rounded singer is very important to me, during my time with students I will incorporate music theory, sight singing, and music history. I want students who come to me to understand what it means to be a singing actor- therefore we will dive into the text, poetry, story and character to bring out an expressive performance. Healthy technique and an understanding of breath will always be our main focus while singing.

About Temple

Music has the power to change and enhance people's lives. When I was 5 years old, I begged my parents for piano lessons until they obliged, and from there it formed the course of my life. I then began singing, and started training as a young teenager in voice. I went on to study at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ for my Bachelor's in Vocal Performance. I have performed all over the world, from Barcelona to Carnegie Hall, and this past summer I was chosen to be a part of the exclusive Classic Lyric Arts program in France, which was a French language and performance intensive.

I moved to NYC after graduating in 2017 to audition and teach. I am currently pursuing my Masters in Vocal Performance at Mannes School of Music and am a student of Diana Soviero. With my background, training, and influence of my own amazing teachers, I h

ave the joy of imparting everything I know to my students.

I also really enjoyed that she incorporated theory into my lessons. I highly recommend Temple as a teacher.
