Renee G. Portage, IN

About Renee

I have been teaching piano to students of all ages for the past 26 years. I studied piano at St. Bonaventure University under Laura Peterson. I have accompanied many in talent shows, and competitions. I presently play the piano at our church. I have taught students that have gone on to higher learning in piano. Some of my students have competed in nationwide festivals and placed well. They have entered local and statewide contests. They placed well in their categories. I believe that each student should have goals for their talent. I want to work with the student's goal to achieve their very best. I believe each student is a unique individual who will become a performer according to the practice that they put into it I am looking for students who want to have fun while ...

Fun, inspiring teacher

I started my piano career with Renee'. She was an excellent teacher, keeping the lessons fun and teaching what was needed as well. She knows how to take a difficult concept and make it understandable. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking to start or continue their piano career!

Nicholas is very accommodating to a student like me. While I have some background in piano, I'm lacking in key areas. Nicholas is able to tailor his lessons to my lopsided needs. He's also a great guy!

I can't say enough about Blake. He is very patient and positive when trying to learn new skills. He does not just make me follow "the" program as a lot of teachers do. He will help me with what I want to learn and still teach me what I need to know to accomplish my goals. I can't say enough about him as a teacher. Nice guy, patient and makes we feel very comfortable gives me confidence to move forward with learning how to sing.

Not only do we love the convenience of online lessons, but we also love our instructor, Blake! Besides his patience and enthusiasm for my 9yo son, who is learning to play the drums with Blake, his communication and flexibility are second to none, which is very important to this busy homeschooling mom. I wondered how effective online lessons would be, and it's been fabulous. Blake and my son hook up with Skype, so they can see each other, talk and form a relationship, making the instructions all the more effective. I highly recommend takelessons.com and of course, Blake. :)
