I’m an instructor with over 13 years of teaching experience. I studied writing and received my
B.A. at the University of Florida and received a Certificate with a concentration in Songwriting and Performance at Berklee School of Music in Boston.

As a teacher, I completely understand the learning curve and have tricks to help you out in those difficult times. Lessons with me are constructed fro
m scratch and tailored to exactly what you want to learn. If you are training to get into a college program, or preparing for a show, or just looking to learn the instrument, I will bring the same level of passion to every lesson, however will adapt my level intensity for what is comfortable for you. If you are interested in guitar, like, guitar, or love guitar, I would love to teach you and hopefully turn your interest into a like, your like into a love, and your love into your passion! My brother told me he found this great guitar teacher, and I was skeptical because he has been playing guitar for a long time and has never really sounded good. Two weeks after he mentioned him, all of the sudden he didn't suck any more. He was actually kinda good. So I tried a lesson with him and Wow! Within my first lesson I was already able to play a song! I can't afford lessons since I'm in school right now, but my brother still takes lessons with him. Even though I no longer take lessons with him I still call Rob and ask him questions about guitar all of the time, and he always makes time for me. I don't know where my brother or I would be without him. Great Teacher. Great Friend.

Fantastic Teacher, Fantastic Person!!!

Robby is a phenomenal guitar teacher and player. From Music Theory to basic chord progressions he has single handedly taught me how to play the guitar. He kept me challenged and engaged and wanting more at all times. I highly recommend Robby if you are looking to pick up a guitar for the first time or get out of a guitar funk after 3 years! You will learn a lot and pick up a friend along the way.

Sheila S.

Woodland Hills, CA

About Sheila

I have earned a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Redlands. As a professional singer, I have performed in numerous concerts and operas. I've sung in both choral and solo settings, as well as fully staged productions. Throughout my education, I have played piano and even participated in Certificate of Merit testing. These experiences have all helped shape me into a well rounded singer.

In lessons, I devote equal amounts of time to technique and repertoire. We will always begin by warming up, and working on some exercises. Then we will implement your new tec
hniques into your repertoire, which I will tailor to your specific needs and wants.

Above all, though, I want to help you realize your dreams as a musician! Looking forward to getting started!

*** Lesson Details ***
Voice: I believe technique comes first and foremost, because it will free you to give everything you've got in performance! We will work on breath support, tone quality and proper placement, and then sing through your repertoire to put these techniques into practice.

Piano: Learning music theory goes hand in hand with playing piano. As you play your pieces, we will also explore the fundamental concepts of music theory (basic rhythm, treble and bass clef, major and minor), giving you a well rounded approach to mastering the piano. These skills will take you a long way in your musical path!

*** Studio Equipment ***
Yamaha Upright piano

*** Travel Equipment ***
Stickers for little ones! I also bring repertoire books to share with my students.

*** Specialties ***
Classical singing technique, applicable to all styles of singing

She's a brilliant instructor. Her attention to detail, and my specific needs as a singer are what make her a true vocal trainer. Though she's delicate and soft spoken, she doesn't let you get away with ANYTHING that needs to be addressed.
