Doreene met with our daughter and made her feel at ease and comfortable from the start. She listened to her sing and made several suggestions that made an immediate difference in her singing. Looking forward to many more sessions with her.

I first started taking from Doreene about three years ago. I live in a place where there seem to be absolutely NO good voice teachers, and I was absolutely lost when it came to technique. Luckily, I was recommended to her by a friend and have been taking lessons over webcam ever since. All I can say is Wow! What an improvement! I had no connection into my chest voice when I first began taking and was terrified to sing anything other than classical. Now I feel confident singing pop, theater, Broadway, you name it, because I have faith in my voice and I know that she's always right. You'll never have to worry about being embarrassed about your voice when you sing for her or anything. She's fun, friendly, happy, and she knows what she's talking about. Even if you don't plan on being famous one day, you will love being able to use all three parts of your voice and will develop faith in your own singing, something that we always try for. Thanks so much Doreene!!

Brian L.

Sandy, UT

About Brian

I have been teaching for 15 yrs. and playing for 34 yrs. I absolutely love to watch the learning process take shape. I get a great deal of joy from teaching and witnessing students pass and achieve greatness. When they overcome what seem like insurmountable odds to them and then perform something flawlessly, especially in a live setting, It just does not get any better than this. I cannot imagine doing anything else with my time. I have a strong ability to connect with each individual student and create a personal lesson plan for each and every unique personality. Depending on the person, I wi
ll personally tailor a lesson plan for that individual based on their natural ability, coordination skills, mindset, musicality and overall rhythmic sense. I also try to give each and every student the confidence needed to get up in front of an audience or crowd of people and still perform with elegance and dignity. Just relax and play. That is what it is all about, right, having fun. Let's play.

*** Lesson Details ***
I have a professional lesson plan in place. I like to teach from literature and also from feeling and hearing the music. I am very amiable and straight forward with my students. I stress very strongly the importance of a good practice routine. With lots of practice you will become a great drummer. But, fun is what everything is all about. If you do not have fun then I have failed. I have never purposely failed, so Lets Go.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Separate from Home, Separate Entrance, Music studio soundproof, Parents and Friends Waiting area with couch and full view through glass window of drum room where lessons take place. Sound can be piped into waiting area or completely muted. Lesson room has two drum sets and state of the art Audio Equipment set up for beautiful sound production and clarity. I also use video playback with studio quality sound to increase learnability. This has been proven to be a very successful tool in the learning process!

*** Travel Equipment ***
Sticks, Pad, Snare Drum and Lots of energy! Let's Rock.

*** Specialties ***

Couldn't be better

My son has been taking drum lessons from Brian for several years. We were looking for a teacher that would teach the important stuff like reading music, basic beats, as well as the fun stuff, learning songs. Brian is everything we were looking for. My son loves to play and enjoys going to lessons. Brian has also provided opportunities for his students to attend workshops & concerts put on by celebrity drummers. If your kids want to learn to play drums, Brian is the guy to teach them.

Megan C.

Midvale, UT

About Megan

My name is Megan, and I love teaching guitar lessons! I originally got my bachelor's degree from the University of Utah in Elementary Education. I taught 6th grade for a couple of years, and then went on to teach guitar classes at a private school for another couple of years. At this school, I directed the classical guitar ensemble, and had children from 5-14 playing challenging music together. I started slowly taking on private students in my spare time, and my business has grown, so that now it's all I do!
I was a music major before I switched over to Elementary Ed. I have experience in
playing in groups, solo, composition, as well as the fundamentals of different styles of playing. I specialize in teaching children, but of course love to teach adults as well. I can teach folk, blues, classical, and the music theory behind soloing in any style.
My passion for music, and knowledge of how we all learn make me very capable of guiding you toward your own musical goals.

Megan is a great choice for those wanting to learn classical guitar or popular music. She lets you choose music that's interesting to you and teaches music reading/theory in a fun way. She's way better than that old piano teacher you used to have!

Megan is is such a great teacher! I personally take lessons from her and am so impressed with her. I have had teachers that are really good at their instrument, but cannot communicate and teach well. Megan has a teaching degree from the University of Utah, so she really knows how to teach. She is so good at the guitar and can teach anything you want to learn. She is fun, kind and understanding. Take lessons from her!

Unfortunately I didn't think this is going to be a good match. She is a nice person but it was not a good match with my daughter's personality. Thank you any way. We will not be going back.
