Dor is an excellent drum instructor. He taught our 9-year old in home for 6 months and was terrific. Our son really advanced his speed techniques under Dor's instruction. We only stopped due to our son's broken arm and we look forward to resuming lessons with Dor as soon as possible. He's great with kids, punctual, reliable and a pleasant guy.

First lesson with Dor went great. Dor was very accessible for questions and gave me all the info I needed. My son came back very happy from his lesson and is very excited about playing the drums. Dor walked him out to the car, which I greatly appreciated!! Great experience so far!!

Itai G.

Jamaica Plain, MA

About Itai

I graduated from SUNY Purchase with a BA in Studio Composition in 2007, and from Hebrew College with a Masters' Degree in Jewish Education in June, 2016. I have been working in after-school, Hebrew school, camp, and other supplementary educational settings for the past ten years. Most of my students are learning piano, and I also have a few Hebrew students. My Hebrew students are either studying for their bnei mitzvah, maintaining their conversational Hebrew, or learning for the purpose of competence of services or Torah study. My piano students have ranged from age 4 to young children learnin
g Classical pieces to teens learning to play the songs they like to adults working on their songwriting and improvisation. My strengths are improvisation, music theory and ear training, accompaniment of popular songs - rock, theater, pop, folk, etc.

Please feel free to get in touch and ask questions!

Ricky is an amazingly creative and inspiring teacher.

Ricky has been teaching my daughter for last 5 years. My daughter is now 15 years old. She already played piano for a couple of years before Ricky started working with her and at that time was getting disinterested. We were looking for someone who would bring that interest and spark back into her playing piano. I was looking for a special teacher who can teach basics of improvisation and accompaniment to a young child. After talking with several potential teachers, we decided to work with Ricky.

Ricky has proven to be an amazing teacher for my daughter. He is patient, creative and able to adjust to the child’s needs. I was amazed when couple of months after my daughter started working with him; she was already improvising and playing really cool pieces of music. That kind of teaching has inspired my daughter to continue playing piano for the last 5 years. She has accompanied two of her friends singing at her school talent shows and graduation ceremony with encouragement and inspiration Ricky has provided her all along.

Ricky frequently encourages my daughter to pick her own songs she would like to work on. Ricky has a strong knowledge of music theory and has incorporated that in his lessons. I love that my daughter is learning music theory, improvisation, accompaniment and reading music all with the same teacher. It is not easy to find a teacher who is so creative to include all of these in his teaching method. I would highly recommend Ricky as a piano teacher for any age.

Victor M.

Brighton, MA

About Victor

My name is Victor and I have been actively teaching cello for the past 4 years. In Ames, IA I had a studio of 8 students, all ranging from different age groups and abilities. I also have experience teaching online lessons, which require a slightly different approach than normal in person lessons. I recently moved to Boston to pursue my masters degree in cello performance at The Boston Conservatory. I am looking forward to building a studio here in Boston! My goal as a teacher is to help you achieve your musical goals. I try my absolute hardest to create a warm and positive environment for all
of my students. I understand that all of my students are different and I make sure to create individual lesson plans for each of my students. Not only will you grow as a musician and as a cellist, but I believe that learning an instrument gives us skills that can be beneficial in every aspect of our daily lives. Whether you are new to the cello, picking it back up after some time off, or at a more advanced level, I hope to hear from you! If you have any questions at all, please send me an email. I look forward to hearing from you!

I have been a student of music for many years with piano and violin. This year it was time for a change. Taking on cello with Victor has been the best experience. He is kind, patient and provides a wonderful learning environment. Although my lessons are done online it seems no different then if he were standing in my living room! I would encourage anyone to take cello lessons from Victor as he teaches a unique way with every student. By the end of your first lesson you will love what you learn and practice to get better. It has been super fun and I look forward to learning more!

I had a great experience with Alex. He is very flexible and catered each lesson to my learning style and goals. You can learn music theory, technique, and how to have fun playing music with your instrument. I kept finding that one hour flew by with the amount of music that was being played. I highly recommend to anyone on both sides of the spectrum; someone who knows exactly what they want to achieve and someone who doesn't know where to begin.

Ivy G.

Waltham, MA

About Ivy

Hi! I am Ivy, a passionate piano educator with international background in MA. I've been playing piano professionally for over 17 years and been teaching private class for 5 years. I have students age from 6 to 35, playing classical music or pop music. From preparing for national piano competitions to helping parents to explore their kids' interests in music, from preparing for attending conservatories auditions to teaching college professors to play for fun, I enjoy the process working with all kinds of students with various goals for learning piano.

---About Me---
I am born in a musician
family and have been eating/sleeping/doing everything in music. I've been trained professionally since age 4, and I was the top student admitted to Xinghai Conservatory, one of the top conservatories in China. I studied piano with professors from St Petersburg Conservatory (Russia), Brown University and Dartmouth College (US), and I've developed deep insights in music and professional system of learning piano.

Given my own experience, I prefer exploring one's passions and interests in music rather than training strictly, prefer experiencing the beauty of art rather than teaching/learning plain techniques.

---Lesson Details---

As your private instructor, I encourage you to play your favourite music pieces as well as the pieces I choose for you specifically in order to:

* Develop strong fingers
* Expand music expressions
* Better understand tempo and rhythm
* Learn music by ears
* Learn basic music theory

I can also provide the following as long as you want:

* Sight reading
* Aural training

You can tell me your goals and hopes in learning piano, share with me your favourite music, and I will offer you the most encouraging, inspirational, and systematic lessons designed only for you!

I encourage you to give your beautiful performances to others, either online or in public. I encourage you to explore various composers and their music. I can even explain music theory in mathematical and philosophical perspectives for you, because here I open you a door to a new music world!

---Pop Music---
Pop songs / Film music

---Folk Music---
European / Indian / American / Chinese / Japanese / Korean etc.

---Classical Music---
Bach / Beethoven / Mozart / Debussy / Tchaikovsky / Haydn / Rachmaninoff

And there is more...:)

---My Place---
University practice room with Steinway Piano!

---Travel Lesson---
Please provide your piano or digital piano.

Tell me more about your goals and requests and let's rock the music together!

Ivy is very patient and fantastic teacher. one month ago, I wanted to play a song to surprise my fiance at her birthday party, so I reached out Ivy. Even though I didn't have any experience in playing piano before, Ivy helped me set achievable goals. She taught me step by step and how to interpret the music. She has her own method to teaching the beginner. So far, I have been able to perform a song without any pausing. If you are a beginner, I definitely recommend her as a piano teacher.
