Undisputed fact: playing ukulele is lots of FUN!

I love playing ukulele. It’s fun, it’s easy to learn, and people get a big kick out of it! Chords are easy to play and the technique is simple. Whether you are picking up an instrument for the first time or adding to your current repertoire, ukulele is always a great choice.

Every single lesson is designed just for you. We focus on your goals while having fun playing music together. We talk about good practice habits and how to achieve new heights with your abilities. You learn to play songs that you recognize as well as improvising your own.

Together we will discover the many roles that the ukulele can have including rhythms, melodies, fingerpicking, and solos. I will also help you understand the fundamental principles of music. This will take the guess work out of your playing, enabling you to make solid choices with consistent results.

Talk to you soon!

Very nice and patient. Donnie makes sure you understand what’s happening before moving on and he also doesn’t go too fast. I learned how to read tabs in the first session already, which I had been struggling with! I’m very excited to continue lessons with him.

I've played the Dobro since around 1991 and have been teaching Dobro since around 1996. I play and teach mostly lap style Bluegrass/Country/Blues style in open G tuning. Sometimes I use G Low Bass, Open D and also experiment with a few other tunings on some original material. Normally I use a method book for teaching standard chords, licks and tunes and supplement ideas and materials as needed. I also will play guitar or Dobro to back-up the student and sing the song with the student once they have learned their parts. I try to incorporate/apply the basics of music theory of chords and scales in with some of the lesson material. I also try to help the student to jam/improvise and listen for chord changes and do things by ear as well as using the TAB in the method book.

About Sam
