All styles! I will teach you skills you will treasure for the rest of your life.

About Allison
Hi! My name is Allison and I'm an opera singer. I fell madly in love with music and singing as a young child and was bitten by the opera bug at age 15. Ever since seeing that first opera, I've never looked back. I did lead roles in my high school musicals, then got my Bachelor of Music and my Master of Music degrees in Classical Voice and Opera Performance both from competitive conservatories. Ever since graduation, I've been lucky enough to make my work as a professional singer. I've traveled all over the country and even internationally bringing this amazing art form to audiences. Now I feel like my dream has come true because I get to do what I love: sing! Pavarotti said, "I think a life in music is a life beautifully spent and this is what I have devoted my life to." I feel so lucky to have a life in music and now I want to s
hare everything I've learned with you.

Students of mine regularly are chosen for lead roles in school and extracurricular musicals and operas and score very high in school music evaluations.

*** Lesson Details ***
During a voice lesson with me, we'll warm up and do vocal exercises for the first half, then we'll learn new music together or work on music you've already learned. I love teaching all styles of classical music and working in many different languages including French, German, Italian, English, and more. I teach lyric diction of all of these languages and the styles of each composer. Above all, lessons with me are relaxed and really fun!

*** Studio Equipment ***
Music room w/ electronic piano and seating for parents

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in Classical Vocal Technique. I feel very comfortable assigning repertoire of any difficulty and I am especially confident in my lyric diction knowledge of Italian, French, German, and English. I can teach audition preparation and audition technique, as well as acting and stage technique for singers.

Allison is amazing! I told her I thought I was tone deaf during our first lesson lol. I was so nervous but she is such a great coach and really makes you feel comfortable. My singing has improved so much and my family and friends are able to notice. She has helped me to build confidence in my voice. I'm even recording songs now! So grateful to have her as a coach. Thank you Allison!

Alignment is the basis a great technique. Each person is different, and knowing how to help them release unwanted tension is critical.

The vocal folds are the core of the sound, and must be given the utmost care and consideration. Proper hydration is essential. They are also muscles, that need strengthening exercises and time for them to change. This will improve your vocal endurance and range. As a highly trained voice teacher, I can hear if the vocal folds are behaving in a healthy and efficient manner. It is essential that your teacher understand how to care for these delicate components of the human voice.

Vocal resonance is how opera singers are heard without amplification. It can be enhanced through awareness and coordination of the various portions of the vocal tract. There are two main components that help magnify the sound. The pharynx, also known as the throat, and the soft palate. Having an open throat and lift soft palate not only help your boost the ...

Lessons are fun and invaluable for all levels of performers, whether you're looking to brush up on your karaoke skills, or enhance your career. We'll work on proper use of shape, space and placement, increasing resonance and range, proper body mechanics, and breathing. Each lesson will be tailored to your needs, and beginning students can work on the basics, while advanced students work on polishing technique, stage presence and performance practice. All lessons are informative!

About Christopher
H, there! My name is Chris, and I love teaching people how to sing! Whether it's brushing up on your karaoke skills or getting ready for the next school contest or professional audition, I'd love to help!

I attended Pacific Lutheran University for Vocal Performance, where I studied voice with Marcia Baldwin of MET Opera fame, and before that with George Peckham - the teacher of Merrilee Rush, and Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart. I've had the great privilege of working with such noted professionals as Marvin Hamlisch, Asher Fisch, and Peter Phllpsand with local Jazz legends such as Frank Demiero and Phil Matson.

In addition to teaching and singing, I conduct Illumni Men's Chorale (America's Got Talent, Season 6!), and I was the staff Vocal Coach for the Seattle Choral Company, Seattle SeaChordsmen, and the Seattle Men's Chorus - the
largest male choir in the world.

I love teaching all styles of music, and while affectations may vary, the basics are all the same. If you're interested in lessons, please say hello!

Just Sing!

Hello potential student! I have been teaching voice for the past ten years and I am a professional opera singer, but I love teaching all different styles! I received my Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance/Vocal Pedagogy from the prestigious Peabody Institute in Baltimore, MD. I believe that anyone can learn how to sing, and I am very passionate about inspiring individuality and confidence in each of my students, no matter his/her skill level! In a half-hour lesson, we usually spend the first 15 minutes doing warmups and building technique with specific exercises that strengthen the voice, extend range, improve diction, etc. The second half of the lesson is spent applying that technique to a song. You can expect to learn all of the foundations of singing in a lesson, such as correct posture and breathing, diction, musicality, etc., as well as how to deal with stage fright, confidence issues, performance practice, ear training, and/or singing in different languages.

About Erica
Hello future students, parents and/or guardians! Thank you for taking a moment to read my profile. I have been teaching voice/piano for ten years and counting! I am a professional opera singer and a graduate of the prestigious Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore, MD, where I received my Master of Music in Vocal Performance/Vocal Pedagogy. I have performed at Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center, and have sung with many different companies around the United States including Seattle Opera, Tacoma Opera, Utah Festival Opera, and Maryland Lyric Opera, to name a few. Even though I am a classically-trained singer, I love working on various different styles with my students. And speaking of students, some have gone on to compete and win in voice/piano competitions, talent shows, and even audition for The Voice! What ever you or your child
's musical goals are, I will strive to do my best in helping you or your child attain them (and more).

I am a Seattle-based singer and voice teacher currently accepting new students of all levels!

I am a classically trained soprano and have learned from a solid, healthy technique for many years. I would like to share this with you and help you to become a better, healthier and happier singer! This technique works for any singing style to assist you in keeping the voice fresh and healthy for many years. My lessons address breath support, proper alignment, personal expression and more. I have a sensitive, positive teaching style and I will work with you very patiently and supportively. I have found so much joy from free, healthy singing and it is my goal to help you experience this same joy in your musical journey.

I have been performing for over 20 years and have experience singing for many different opera companies and choirs, soloin
g at churches and restaurants, and currently sing in a local band.

Have you seen the recent article about Adele (and many other artists) continuously losing her voice and needing vocal surgery? This is due to bad technique! So many teachers and producers out there are teaching with poor technique and only care about sound, not the health of the voice. It is finally coming to light that this is not a sustainable way to treat the voice. I have been fortunate enough to have been trained with healthy vocal technique that is very free, natural and beautiful (not "produced") and I would love to share it with you!

For more information please feel free to contact me, and we can discuss your personal singing needs.

I look forward to working with you!

The voice is precious. Please be kind to it. It's the only one you've got!
