Very experienced with Digital Audio Workstations and Ableton is one of my 1st favorites. You will have tons of fun with the possibilities!
You might not always notice it, but music is all around—from the stereo in your car to the music piped in at department stores. And you also may not be aware that music has a wide array of impacts on your health: Studies show that music has a strong effect on your mood levels and emotions, and also on how you think and your general intelligence. The music you listen to can have a profound effect on your test scores and your ability to quickly process information. And if you’ve ever played an instrument, studies show that you’re already ahead of the curve. Playing an instrument is a great way to test out your creative thinking and push your brain to process information in a new way. Whether you’re listening or playing, a little music can go a long way. I am here to help you realize not only your playing potential, but guide you into not ju
st becoming a guitar player, piano player, but a musician. I am able to teach Piano, Guitar, Music recording from software/hardware to MIDI, including Sonar, Reason, and related software.
I have studied music at California State University San Bernardino, where I minored in music and learned the immense possibilities of the music field. Music is part of my everyday life, and its an honor to know I can play music but also create it. My goal is to show you as the student how to realize that dream.
*** Lesson Details *** I am a very friendly, fun and patient instructor. I believe that when you take any type of music lesson, it should be to have fun. With fun, passion, and dedication, sky is the limit. The curriculum I like to use are the most simplified forms to teach an instrument. It's about playing smarter, not harder. I do offer recording sessions to my students to track their progress, and give you a copy to keep as memorabilia.
*** Studio Equipment *** Bergman Upright Piano. Fender Acoustic/ Gibson Electric. Marshall Amps. Digital and analog Recording Station.
*** Specialties *** I have in-depth knowledge of classical works, but my emphasis is in modern rock/ Alternative/ Pop. I like teaching the songs you like to hear from The Beatles to Green Day! I love all music genres and if I have not heard of the song you want to play I will learn it so that I can teach you!
I had a great lesson, Paul took the initiative, and personalized a lesson for me. he took the time to find out what i know and what i wanted to learn. Thanks Paul

Paul is a great and fun guy with exceptional musician knowledge across multiple platforms. The lessons provided me with the basics I needed to basically perform as a DJ. There is a lot to learn & he's the guy that got me started. I highly recommend him as a teacher.
I perform and write regularly using Ableton, which is an amazingly flexible program for editing and live performance. Get in touch if you want to learn how to add that electronic touch to your recordings or live performances using this the most accessible of audio editing & performance programs.
I love teaching and I love singing! I'm a listener, and love bringing a fun and creative tone to my lessons while teaching the highest level of healthy technique and style. My students are usually focused on a goal: singing for fun or meditative purposes, going for auditions or performances, and recording and touring at a professional level. They've appeared on multiple stages around the world, including as a finalist on The Voice (Ireland). I taught voice and performance for several years at a university in Europe, as well as in workshops with a lot of different community organisations.
I've studied the following voice and movement practices, too: Alexander Technique, Estill Voice Training, Speech Level Singing, Pop Vocals, Experimental Voice, Trigger Point Therapy, Yoga, Pilates, Contemporary Dance.
By taking lessons with me, no
t only are you contributing to your own music-making, but you're essentially becoming a patron for me as I travel around writing music for commissions and doing shows. I love teaching online because I get to share the excitement of all of this with you!
I’ve been taking singing lessons from Rachel for over a year now. All of my sessions have been online, and I’ve been super happy with my progress and her teaching style.
The classes are structured around my own interests (specific songs, breath control, body technique, etc.), and she’s always ready to answer questions. I don’t have any formal background in musical theory, but I’ve been able to still learn so much from her. I should also mention these classes have been a god-send for my public speaking (I don’t lose my voice anymore and can project easily now).
Rachel is easygoing and has been flexible with me and my schedule changes (you just have to give her some notice). I would definitely recommend her to anyone just starting out like I did—she’s experienced, knowledgeable and professional. :)

I love that she always gives me an option on what I do or don't want to do at the moment, but still pushes me to challenge myself. I get to sing the songs I like, and learn the things I need. It helps me stay an interested student. It's fun to train with her too, because Miss Austin knows how to lighten the mood but still keep me on track during lessons. I'd say that my voice's improvements in such a short time would have never happened without her.
I have used Ableton Live since 2007 and believe it is one of the best pieces of music software out there. Ableton allows you to use your computer like an instrument, and allows you to quickly create songs, beats and DJ sets. If your interested in electronic music production, I would love to help get you started by giving you lessons in this amazing software.

Devin is an excellent and knowledgeable teacher! He taught me the basics of Ableton and the details of music production, recording audio/midi tracks, sound libraries, effects, etc. He guided me through the songwriting process, and made this complex software easier to navigate through and understand. I highly recommend Devin for anyone interested in enhancing their skills in music production. Thank you Devin for all your help!
I have been using Ableton for over 5 years, with a lot of experience using it in live performances as well as composition/production. I personally love ableton, I think it is the best DAW out there and definitely the one I'm most familiar with. I used it for most of my Electronic Production & Design projects at Berklee. Additionally I taught kids ages 13-18 how to use Ableton at the West End House Boys & Girls Club in Allston, MA for 2-3 years. I currently teach music production to quite a few students at my home studio, doing in-home lessons, and teaching online - my current students range from teens to adults. Furthermore, I've had tracks which I have produced (in Ableton) selected by Berklee's Electronic Production & Design Dept. (EPD) to be played for internationally acclaimed sound designer/producer/composer Richard Devine, during his 2014 seminar at Berklee. I was also selected as a finalist for a remix competition at the 2nd International Csound Conference in 2013 (for another ...
Hi, my name is Josh Weinberg. I have over 10 years experience teaching drums & about 5 years experience teaching music production, & music theory (to all different ages). I have received an award from Berklee College of Music's Community Affairs Dept. for my teaching work in the Boston area (see photo). I graduated Berklee cum laude honors and w/ 2 degrees, Drum Performance & Electronic Production & Design. I teach a wide variety of techniques & cater each lesson plan to each student, to maximize our time together & help make the student the best musician he/she can be! I can travel to you for in-home lessons or you can come to my studio in Newton, which is a nice, isolated space where you won't be distracted by other lessons happening in the adjacent room like in some other studios/schools. In addition to teaching, I frequently performs
with bands around the northeast U.S., & have performed with internationally acclaimed artists such as Nona Hendryx, Simon Shaheen, & Richard Devine. In the past 6 years, I've performed in 8 countries - USA, Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, Colombia, Brazil, Turkey, & Ghana.
My son enjoyed the lesson and wanted to practice right away.

Josh is always easy to be around and is able to form any lesson around what I wanted to do, as well as teach me loads of new ideas if I hadn’t planned anything. He has greatly helped improve my own production and give me insight into what professional producers do to set themselves apart. He’s great to work with and always in an uplifting mood.

Josh is an awesome teacher. He is patient and supportive and always comes up with ways to connect me to the concept he’s teaching. I asked to learn drums “the right way” so we spend a ton of time on fundamental exercises that i suspect are boring for him but he never shows it. He is always upbeat and positive and I enjoy our lessons a lot. Could not recommend him more highly.

I am an Ableton Certified Music Producer and Graduate of Dubspot Electronic Music School with a degree in DJing and Music Production. I also have a Bachelors Degree from San Diego State University. I am currently a resident DJ for OMNIA San Diego & Hakkasan group as well as an Internationally Touring DJ. I have performed at over 300 nightclubs, music festivals, and events worldwide alongside artists like The Chainsmokers, Marshmello, Dillon Francis, Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, Steve Aoki, & many more.
Aside from my DJ career, I have a ton of experience teaching and working with children. I have always enjoyed teaching people and helping them to reach their goals. I started out at a young age as a babysitter for family friends. In high school, I took a job managing a local skatepark and giving skateboarding lessons. Once I moved to San Diego to attend SDSU, I took a side job as an activity leader for Harmonium, an after school program for elementary school students. During the summers, I also managed and taught skateboarding at the local YMCA Skateboarding Summer Camp.
Anyways, after I started to excel in my music career, friends and acquaintances started reaching out to me for advice and information. Ever since then I have been tutoring, mentoring, and helping my peers learn how to DJ, produce music, book shows, boost their marketing & much much more. I look forward to working with you and helping you to achieve your goals!
I have been producing electronic and acoustic music in Ableton for nearly a decade. I am deeply familiar with its capablilities and workflow and can teach you to feel at home inside the software.
Not only can I show you what all the devices and components of the software do, but also how to perform advanced programming to gain unlimited functionality out of your DAW.
I've studied music for 25 years.
In addition producing of both electronic and non-electronic, I am a multi-instrumentalist playing primarily piano/keys, but also brass and woodwind instruments, drums, guitar, ukulele, mandolin, voice, and (slowly-but-surely) cello.
I have been producing my own music in Ableton for almost 10 years and have and have upcoming EPs with The Producer Dojo and Impossible Records for my newest project Missing Lynx.
Don't make this journey alone. At this point I've made all the mistakes and can save you from wasting time and money on skills, gear, and software that are unnessary or low-yielding. Moreover, I can give you another set of ears and feedback on your music that you can trust, which is invaluable while you are still training your ears to listen objectively.
Alex is a great teacher, willing to go at your speed. I can tell he's very qualified to teach any level of student. I'm brand new to DAW software, and I really needed someone to help me work through it from step one. Now I feel like I've got the ideal situation going on, where I work on it on my own during the week, come up with a million questions, and then I can ask him and solve my issues once a week. Very nice guy, more than worth the price of the lessons.
I am a former touring DJ (NYMZ) from the duo Milo & Otis. I have been producing and using Ableton for about 10 years and specialize in electronic/pop music. I have produced with all kinds of well known artists throughout the years and have a learned many tips and tricks that will help any type of producer take their skills to the next level.
NYMZ, a veteran in the industry with over seven years of decorated experience and best known for his successful DJ duo, Milo & Otis, has recently decided to further his career as a solo artist and explore partnerships with fresh new artists. His experience includes playing festivals around the world, as well as, playing alongside top talent such as Skrillex and Dillon Francis. NYMZ has recently signed an exclusive deal with Kobalt, and his music can be heard in both National TV Shows/Commercials and Featured Films. Most notably, his collaboration with A-Trak, “Out The Speakers (feat. Rich Kidz)” can be heard in Mountain Dew’s Super Bowl Commercial.
I have a lot of experience using Ableton both as a recording DAW and a live performance tool. I can help you realize your needs or just teach you the basics about how to use the software.
HI! I love teaching and I have many different areas of expertise. I am happy to teach combined lessons- Ableton mixed with synthesis, piano and accordion? Whatever your needs are, I am happy to find a way to teach you what you need to learn!
I take time as a teacher to get to know my students and the way that they learn. Everyone is different. The most important aspect of having a teacher is being able to learn from them.
PIANO- I studied for a long time with German Diez. (his principal teacher was Claudio Arrau) I have found a way to integrate the piano technique I learned from him into an engaging process of learning the piano- this is NOT limited to classical music.
ABLETON- I have used Ableton as a DJ, to create live dance music, as a device to perform as a multi-instrumentalist. I have used it to score a theater piece whic
h was triggered in real time. I use it to record- from a compositional tool to feature length soundtracks.
ACCORDION- I have been playing accordion since 2005. What drew me to that instrument, as a pianist, was the portability and being able to crescendo on one note. If you play piano and are interested in this instrument, the crossover takes a couple of weeks but, the results are immediate. If this is your first instrument, you will have a BLAST learning it!
COMPOSITION- I am trained (via Bard College, Joan Tower) as a "classical composer". Meaning, I write the notes on the page. However, it is 2019 and there are many ways to write music. In my career as a composer, I dedicate my life to exploring all the ways that one can be defined as a composer. I am more than happy to share my experience with you as a mentor to your creations. I will never tell you what to write- I will offer suggestions and be a vehicle to help you realize your music. Sometimes it takes a support system to "find one's voice". I am especially sensitive to people who are shy and/or late bloomers.
SYNTHESIS- Did you just get a new synth and can't figure out how to get it to make a sound? :) I am here. As a musician- whether seasoned or not, if you don't understand the basics of synthesis you are literally missing out on a WHOLE sonic universe.
Jil Christensen is a superhuman who comes down to Earth on occasion to help us mere mortals become better musicians. Having pushed Ableton to its limits, she is able to troubleshoot almost any issue a budding producer/composer will come up with and has a seemingly endless bag of tricks to help the student explore different possibilities for a composition. At the same time, she is able to break down the most basic concepts to get the beginner started (I didn't know what an oscillator was at my first lesson, nor had I ever used Ableton or any other DAW). In addition to being an expert in Ableton, Jil has extensive knowledge of synthesizers and other equipment both for the studio and live music production. Jil also has an encyclopedic knowledge of modern compositional techniques and years of experience implementing them. She is sure to take your music production and composition skills to the next several levels. Highly recommended!
"I am brand new to music production and Scott broke everything down very easily for me. He also gave me great recommendations on starter kit equipment to p
urchase that was not too expensive."
"Very helpful can’t wait for our next lesson!"
"Scott is amazing! He helped teach me the basics of Ableton, over Skype. I was coming from Logic and needed a quick course. I learned how to have a faster
workflow and tons of cool shortcuts! Also he is a very chill guy and easy to get along with. I highly recommend Scott if your looking to take your music production, and mixing/mastering skills to the next level."
"Very clear and easy to understand instruction. Good with time management and learned a lot very quick."
"Matt does a great job of adapting his instructions to match where the students knowledge is currently. I started taking lessons from him after spending a
few years learning bits and pieces of ableton on my own. Matt quickly figured out where I was, what I can do to improve what I've learned, and helped me make steps moving forward. No matter you're experience level I can't recommend learning from Matt enough. I leave every lesson with so much more knowledge than before that I can immediately start applying to my own work and work flow. Thank you Matt! Looking forward to many more lessons."
"The first week is awesome. I had taken a class at a college for a quarter. I did very well and learned a lot. With that, John knew right where to star
t with me. Looking forward to getting the best sound I can. Thanks, John."
"Mark is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and friendly to work with. He has been helping me mix music in Ableton and I am very excited about what we have
created. Mark is quite articulate about music which allows us to thoroughly examine the different sounds and elements in a song to better understand what we like and what could be improved upon. I recommend him as a teacher to students of all ability levels and am excited for us to continue working together."
