I focus on creating a safe and free sound. Alignment is the basis a great technique. Each person is different, and knowing how to help them release unwanted tension is critical.

The vocal folds are the core of the sound, and must be given the utmost care and consideration. Proper hydration is essential. They are also muscles, that need strengthening exercises and time for them to change. This will improve your vocal endurance and range. As a highly trained voice teacher, I can hear if the vocal folds are behaving in a healthy and efficient manner. It is essential that your teacher understand how to care for these delicate components of the human voice.

Vocal resonance is how opera singers are heard without amplification. It can be enhanced through awareness and coordination of the various portions of the vocal tract. There are two main components that help magnify the sound. The pharynx, also known as the throat, and the soft palate. Having an open throat and lift ...

Young multilingual (English, Cantonese, and Mandarin) piano and violin teacher who combines the formal traditional Eastern style of teaching, and the fun approach of Western style of teaching into his music lessons.

Fun lessons but also challenging
- I believes that fun lessons are easy to gain young student interest, but it often lack to give them motivation. In the lessons, I often challenge my students, let them be self-motivated and become a better musician.

Techniques
- I focus lessons on teaching proper techniques with their instruments. With my experiences in taking lessons from American, Chinese, and Russian teachers, I learnt a great spectrum of techniques and I would like to teach my students what I had learn.

Learning pieces and other related topics
- Playing pieces and songs is only a small part of learning to play an instrument. In our lessons, we would also cover proper music theory, and ear-training.

I have been teaching students from pre-k to retirement age. Early ...

Ms Serena is a quality teacher with high expectations and rigid policies. My daughter took lessons for approximately six months. During this time, she learned a great deal regarding vocal technique and the physiology behind quality sound and breath control. Ms Serena also guided my daughter through the creative writing process of composing her own song.
Lana
Serena was so kind, encouraging and helpful in beginning my vocal training. She focused on the fundamentals, explaining and answering every question I had, teaching me about proper technique, vocal health, audition etiquette, and more. She was also always willing to listen to how I was feeling and was very kind and welcoming at all times In a very short amount of time, my vocal technique and quality improved, and I now am a much more confident and healthy singer. Serena is amazing!
Lynnette
My daughter and I are very happy with how Serena coached her. Her technical way of teaching has helped Jana , my daughter, understand the mechanics of singing better. We booked the $400/5sessions promo in preparation for my daughter’s competition and we are happy to say that she did very well, thanks to Serena’s coaching.
Serena is very professional, communicates clearly, and is excellent in her craft. It is unfortunate that due to other family affairs, we are unable to continue with her.

It begins with a foundation of techniques: breathing, posture, pitch, tone, rhythm and more. Students will study out of a method book but also learn classical and rock and/or pop pieces depending on the student's musical tastes. I always incorporate games for beginners to help reinforce the fundamentals they're learning.

I love teaching and spreading the joy of music, but it's all about the needs and goals of my students! I listen to them to understand how they learn best and what type of lesson will capture their interest.

I love teaching music. I think it should be fun and exciting to improve on an instrument. I meet the student where they are at with their ability and work up from there. I find as many different approaches to help students learn new playing techniques or refining ones they may already know. While my primary instrument is trombone I can easily transfer my skills over to euphonium. Music education is my passion in life and I can’t wait to work with you!

"I took the beginner class and I was amazed by how far I progressed with Ahmad's instruction. My friends who play guitar had told me that they spent months just learning to play chords before they were able to play songs. But by the end of the four week class I could play not one, but *three* songs.

Ahmad has a well-thought-out curriculum that introduces music theory and chord concepts in a way that helps you understand what's happening musically while being able to apply it to actual songs. He has printouts and online videos to help you review if you forget something from class. He also gives you good strategies for practicing effectively. And finally, his excitement for music is infectious. One of the hardest things for me is staying motivated to practice, but that's a lot easier when I can see that I'm progressing toward being the guitarist I want to be with every lesson.

I've taken music lessons from a lot of different musicians in my lifetime (piano, violin, voice) and while they were all skilled musicians, none were as skilled of teachers as Ahmad. If your experience is anything like mine, you'll learn more faster taking lessons here than anywhere else."

"Kristen is AMAZING! She's not just a voice teacher, she's like a vocal specialist. She has the ability to hear what her students need and then help them fine tune their voice. She helped both of my daughters unlock parts of their voice they didn't know they had. Another gift she has is the ability to teach stage presence and confidence that many teachers don't have. My daughter Emma says Kristen helped her develop her own unique voice and that she's very positive and encouraging. That made all the difference for Emma."

"Emily has a strong commitment to making sure her students are learning about music while continuing to enjoy what music can bring to their lives. She not only taught me how to read, listen to, and study music, but she taught me why music is important and how I can live it. Emily teaches with grace and poise. She finds a way to relate to students of any ambition or experience. As a high school student looking to still be involved in music in college, Emily was able to find connections in several cities for me because of her numerous experiences of networking in the music world. 3 Hand-Eye Coordination Exercises for Drummers

Whether you're a beginner or an intermediate drummer, good hand-eye coordination will help you develop accuracy and control. Here are some tips from music teacher Tracy D., to help you improve your hand-eye coordination... When you're learning drums, you need to watch and sense where your hands are in relation to the kit.
