Lifelong piano learner, college trained, and now teacher over the past 7 years, piano is my preferred choice of musical expression. I teach all ages (earliest 4 yrs); (note: as of 3/15/2020 [due to state shutdown] only online lessons for ages 8 plus are being accepted until further notice). Lessons are customized for each student depending on their personal goals and preferences. Beginners will find the lessons motivational and enjoyable. All of my students CAN DO! Lessons are logical, and based on a step-upon-step learning system. I also have success with intermediate students who may have hit the wall, or are finding difficulty moving on in their learning. I am committed to identifying that barrier (whatever it may be) and helping the pianist overcome the issue. I specifically incorporate keyboard recognition, music reading/theory, artistic expression, composition, and ear training and stress outside lesson practice.

About Joni

I am a college graduate and lifetime learner of musical artistry having 4 years practical piano teaching experience after 25 years of employment at a local higher education institution. I can engage the beginner in such a way that they will be motivated to continue into advanced and a professional

Alignment is the basis a great technique. Each person is different, and knowing how to help them release unwanted tension is critical.
Building hand coordination is essential to playing piano. A variety of agility and strengthening exercises will help you gain greater control and comfort in playing.

Articulation and phrasing is how pianists convey emotion. By Understanding the different colors available, a performer can create a dynamic and moving experience.

Experienced musician with 3 years of teaching experience to a wide range of ages. I am encouraging with a focus on emotional release through music. I don't want to force someone to care about piano. I want to teach them how it can be used as a form of self expression, and how to make that beautiful. However, I am firm about the importance of practice.

About Catherine

Hello! I'm Catherine, I live in LA and I have played piano since I was 5. Since she started working with Farobag, her love for playing piano has grown, and her skills have improved exponentially. In addition to his obvious talents, he is professional, patient, and also very flexible with scheduling. He has a genuine interest in seeing his students learn and improve. I would highly recommend him for anyone interested in taking lessons. He also has a strong background in math, and has offered to tutor my 3 children, if needed. Learning the Piano: 5 Ways to Bring Out the Melody in Songs

How do you make your melodies shine when you're learning the piano? Read on as Powell, OH teacher Sara Marie B. shares some exercises to try...   As you're learning the piano, one of the most difficult things to do, especially for young children or beginning pianists, is to bring out the melody. Simply saying it does not help, so I've found I need to provide students with ways to practice this at home, guiding them toward the correct sound. If you're listening well and spending time …
