About Kelvin
I am a highly organized, outcome-driven and motivated professional musician and educator with solid experience in the classroom. For the past 25 years, I have been employed with Amati music academy and seven years on the faculty of University of St Francis.
I am very comfortable with all aspects of the current music syllabus, including teaching musical concepts (such as duration, pitch, dynamics, tone color, texture and structure) as well as performance, composition. I am fully qualified, with a Bachelor of Education in Music, Double Masters in music performance and education from University of Nottingham.
I am proficient in classical, jazz and Celtic fiddle violin and possess solid skills in piano (grade 8-13) Royal conservatory system.
Throughout my teaching career, I have been driven to help students achieve their very best. I str
ongly believe that music has the power to change lives – to enhance the social, cultural and spiritual lives of people, and serve as a profound medium of personal expression. Professional perform experience: The Chicago, Natalie Cole, Smokey Robinson, Three tours with Moody Blues, YoYo Ma etc....
The most important thing I look for in a student is communication skills, as well as talent. I like to nurture students and help identify their individual strengths, which is a key factor in shaping a musical persona that will make its mark both on and offstage. I do not advocate a uniform technique for all students. Physical differences and learning styles are always taken into consideration. Potential is as important to me as early achievements and experience. My goal is to help students become self-sufficient, discriminating artists. I discuss practice techniques often and develop individualized scale routines. I encourage initiative and expressive musicality as well as precision. Above all, music needs to bring obvious joy to the student, regardless of the difficulties.”

I am an intuitive, Jungian-based astrologer. A life-long yoga practitioner, I presently run a yoga nonprofit. Daily meditation is essential to me. I had my astrology chart done on a whim in the early 90's and immediately became enthralled with the art.

I began my daily blog, featuring Street Art from around the World, in April of 2013. I published two of my novels, written in the late 90's, this year as well. With an MA in counseling Psychology, and a PhD in Philosophy and Religion, I bring a psychological and philosophical perspective to my work. My PhD, from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, concentrated on symbol systems and Jungian Psychology. With over twenty five years experience in astrological counseling, I impart a unique, artistic vision, to my workshops and readings.

Ainslie is equally patient and dynamic in her teaching style. Moreover, the breathe of her astrology knowledge is unparalleled, and she effortlessly imparts a thorough knowledge of the subject in terms that are clear and concise. After my own lessons, I would enthusiastically recommend Ainslie to any student interested in gaining a comprehensive understanding of astrology.

Ainslie has given me two astrology readings.. both of which have given me a deeper understanding of astrology and myself. She is meticulous with her work and very patient while explaining all the information she gives, you can clearly see this in her weekly blogs. What I loved most about Ainslie readings is that you really feel how passionate she is about Astrology and this makes the experience so much more meaningful and fun! Thank you Ainslie!

About Tony
Do you love to draw? Do you want to be an expert character animator? Do you know and want to apply the core, essential principles of movement to whatever animation style that most interests you? If so, I'm probably the perfect teacher for you! (Note, I DO NOT teach animation software. Instead I use simple drawing techniques to teach everything that underpins ALL forms of animation - whether they be traditionally hand-drawn, stop-frame, claymation or state-of-the-art computer approaches.) Perfect for the raw beginner, or even an ambitious professional who simply wants to take their work to the very next level! So let me introduce myself...

I am a British Academy Award winning animator who has made over 200 TV Commercials, 2 TV Specials, several Short Films, and ‘The Pink Panther Strikes Again’ movie titles at the beginning of my career
. From the outset I was personally taught by some of the most amazing master animators ever - Ken Harris ('Bugs Bunny' and 'Roadrunner' for Warner Brothers), Art Babbit ('Pinocchio' and 'Fantasia' for Disney) and Richard Williams (3 times Oscar winner). I later successfully ran my own award-winning London animation studio for 20 years, before moving to the States in 1998 to live and teach. In the USA I have taught at the highest college level for over 14 years, when I also became author of several respected books on animation, including - 'Animation from Pencils to Pixels', 'How To Make Animated Films', 'The Animator's Notebook' and 'The Animator's Sketchbook'. Animation schools and colleges around the world use my books. My own master animator reputation & expertise has been developed through traditional, hand-drawn (2D) animation for the film industry. However, I have since developed a whole range of teaching techniques that will help students of ALL forms of animation, whether its for the Film, Games, TV or the Web industries. The ‘core principles of movement’ are essential for all kinds of animation, whether it be 2D, 3D, Claymation, Stop-frame or any other kind. So I now focus less on technology and software, and more on the core principles of movement through ‘gesture drawing from observation’ and other means. In this way my students do not need to purchase extremely expensive equipment or software, they often need little more than a pencil, eraser and a sketchbook – with a lot of their own dedication they need to bring to the party. I am also insistent that students of animation also learn about fundamental design, layout, film structure and storyboarding - as all these are all essential to all great, animation. So I hope you will join me and become yet another of my successful students who are currently working in the animated film and/or video game fields today.

Tony White has the patience to watch inspired animators grow. His ideas feed into our concepts we have and he is the adviser that guides us to how our ideas become a reality on paper or on a monitor. He has assisted me to where I am today.

If I could be instructed by Tony White again and again, I'd never say no.

About Barbara
I was born in British Columbia, Canada, but grew up here in the beautiful Puget Sound area of Washington. Sewing and fabrics were very much a part of my life for as long as I can remember! My beloved grandmother was an excellent seamstress, and I can remember the lovely garments she made. Her hands were always busy and she helped support her family of 10 children in Canada with her sewing during the Great Depression. One of my most cherished pieces of furniture is her old Singer treadle sewing machine. My grandmother's sewing talents were passed to my mother, who also made beautiful clothes for me as I grew up. I can remember endless shopping trips to the fabric stores where I was fascinated by all the colors and textures!

Eventually I began sewing my own clothing, and after I was married I worked for a time at the upscale Designe
r's Fabric store in Bellevue, WA. When my daughter was born, I found myself sewing dresses and doll clothing for her, just as my mother and grandmother had done for me. Sewing for children was so enjoyable that my mother and I opened a business called RuBarb Creations, where we made custom clothing for children. In 1995 I became the costume director for a private school. During the next nine years I costumed over 24 plays, including 7 major Shakespeare productions and 6 high school musicals.

For over 20 years I was a piano instructor, having taught many children to enjoy playing the piano. My love of teaching and working with kids, and my passion for sewing and the fabric arts led me to finally fulfill my dream of opening a sewing school, where I have taught for over 6 years. I have an Associate of Arts Degree from Northwest University and a BA degree in English/Creative Writing from Seattle Pacific University.

My goal is to pass on the joy of sewing, so that others can be encouraged to explore the wonderful creative world of sewing! I hope to enrich lives, giving my students confidence, a sense of accomplishment, and a life-long skill that is slowly leaving our culture. In turn, I hope to inspire others to share their talents with those in the world around us.

Hi! My name is Katie. I'm a corporate graphic designer with a background in theatre design and studio art. Several years ago I moved to the country. My goal was to live as much "off-grid" as I could. It's a work in progress. I started with learning to raise a handful of chickens and several small container gardens. Now, almost all of my property is being used for sustainable food production and my grocery bills are next to nothing. I love sharing what I've learned to help others feed their families and have fun learning where their food comes from.

About Evan
I'm a career string quartet musician who loves both performing and teaching. I graduated with a Master of Music degree from McGill University in Viola Performance.

I've been lucky to have many amazing opportunities so far: I've performed in Carnegie Hall as a member of the New York String Orchestra Seminar; in Yokohama and Tokyo, Japan; and in Salzburg, Austria (the birthplace of Mozart!) as a member of the Milton String Quartet. I've also toured the USA and played in many parts of Canada. My favorite experience was winning the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition, the largest competition of its kind in North America!

My teaching experience is quite varied. I currently teach group classes to 3rd-5th graders here in NYC public schools. I've taught chamber music to teenagers in Indiana University's Summer String Academy and to adult lea
rners in Montreal.

To me, music is about community, and getting to play great music with close friends or family is one of the most rewarding experiences.

I also tutor chess: I grew up playing the game and my parents ran a chess club at my elementary school in rural Maine. Chess was pure fun growing up but now I see how valuable of a tool it is for teaching logic, strategy and critical thinking! I won the U.S. Open unrated division at the age of 16 with a USCF rating of 1600 and have competed in a number of other tournaments.
