You can learn to sing almost any style of music, and OPERA is no exception. Once we find your real voice and teach it how to come out in full, resonant, well modulated tones. then you can use that vocal power to sing any style of music that you love and want to study. Operatic singing is more of a mindset than a "natural gifting". Granted that the operatic repertoire makes exciting demands on the voice, vocal/physical/emotional stamina, and acting ability, but those are all learned skills that other mere mortals have learned and mastered with a little help from coaches and mentors like me, who have learned them from others who have paid their dues in this wonderful profession, and been willing to pass them on to aspiring singers. All too often those hopefuls have been told that only a few "specially gifted ones" can ever attain to such heights, and thus ensues a lifetime of unfulfilled dreams. DARE TO DREAM! If you've ever even thought about it, you're "IT" ...tagged!, so let's do it!

About Vanessa

Become the masterful Singer that you really ARE! Learn to bring out the natural beauty and power of your Voice, and to match your own unique personality and vocal qualities to complementing repertoire in order to show your voice and talents in their best light. We'll develop the repertoire that fi

I am a professional speaker and I decided to pursue some speaker voice coaching. This was my first lesson and Vanessa was friendly and great personality. I felt comfortable with her
immediately. She provided education, demonstration, observed me apply the techniques, and offered constructive feedback. After the class, I was excited to practice what I learned. I will definitely continue to go back to Vanessa. I highly recommend her.

I am a professional opera singer based in the Seattle area. Most of my training and experience has been with singing opera and classical music. I am a graduate of the prestigious San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and studied with the head of the Vocal Department, receiving my B.A. in music, with an emphasis on vocal performance.

In my lessons focusing on classical singing, I teach stretching, breathing techniques, and lots of vowel work. I will go over how to pronounce the three most common languages used in classical music i.e. French, Italian and German. I have vast experience singing in these languages, and also continue to study them in my everyday life.

Eventually I would encourage my students to audition for choirs, and small roles at local opera companies. I can also prepare high school aged students interested in majoring or pursuing a career in music/voice on how to properly audition and what the best pieces are for their voice foe that specific purpose.

About Jordan

Lesson Details/Services: Singing/Audition and Resume Coach: Lessons begin with stretching, vocal warm ups, scales, and extensive breath work, as well as resolving any tensions that may be hindering your vocal production. I then through collaboration with the student, work on beginning repert

Jordan is very skilled in Opera, Voice, and Teaching. She at once puts you at ease and quickly empowers you with knowledge and new skills. Although it may feel like baby-steps, you can hear and feel changes in your voice almost immediately . Studying Opera Voice is a long road of very hard work, so much to remember. There is a reason 4 year degrees are offered in it. But it is well worth it for those who have the stamina.

Jordan is very experienced and knowledgeable, I watched as she worked with me. She has an amazing ear. she hears nuances of differences in the slightest tone difference and can tell just what to do to help you sound wonderful. Looking forward to going back.

Music has been a very integral part of my life ever since I was a little kid. From the age of 9, I have been exploring music and what it can do for my life. I love being a singer, nothing makes me happier in the world and I want to instill into my students the joy that singing can bring them. My lessons will consist of warming up and learning to vocalize, and working on repertoire to create a solid vocal foundation that can be applied to any kind of music that you wish to sing. Above all, I'm about feeling good about yourself and having fun!

About Louis

I am a lyric baritone from the small town of Conowingo, Maryland. I spent my childhood absorbed in the arts, dabbling in painting and even wood burning. But, I found my true calling in music. From the moment I got a keyboard for Christmas when I was nine, I have never stopped exploring where music

"I really love taking voice lessons with Asuka-sensei! It's a lot of fun, and I can tell that she listens very well because she immediately helps me with the areas I struggle with - whenever I come across them in the music. I really appreciate the way she coaches voice exercises, and I think they have immensely helped me get a better tone and sound. Even from the first lesson, I instantly heard a clear difference in my voice! She is seriously talented!!"

"I have studied voice for over 17 years. Amongst my teachers there have been famous singers who have performed at the Metropolitan Opera House, La Scala and Covent Garden. and yet none of them compares to Jane. She has very accurately and promptly identified my problems and targeted them proficiently. She is very energetic, eloquent and enthusiastic. It is clear that Jane herself received excellent instruction and made the most of it. Jane communicates effectively, and more importantly, teaches from the heart. In a few lessons my choirmaster and others have noticed significant improvement in the quality of my singing."

"This was our daughter’s first class with Natasha. She had had only a few months of formal lessons before meeting with Natasha. I was impressed with how Natasha started by grounding her in the basics of good stance and breathing, not rushing into a lesson but making sure she understood the principles. Natasha has a friendly, engaging personality that immediately puts you at ease. Looking forward to seeing where this path takes my kiddo!"

Most of the year, my husband and I are in the South of France, but when in town, I still try stay sharp and perform at recitals. Asuka has introduced me to new singing techniques which have allowed me to preserve my voice at my age, while maintaining strength. It's really refreshing to learn new techniques that some of the older teachers don't know about. It has done a world of good as my voice doesn't get tired anymore."

"To say that my opera lessons with Margo have been miraculous would be an understatement. My family and friends had repeatedly encouraged me to pursue my singing and I wrote it off as hyperbole. When I finally decided to take it seriously I was afraid I was too old to start pursuing a career in the arts. Margo explained to me that some performers can be in their 30s or 40s before reaching full vocal maturity. She immediately took me under her wing which has resulted in near perfect pitch. Under her tutelage I have learned to evoke emotion from my audience thru both song and dramatization. Needless to say, her being multi-lingual has no doubt made her uniquely qualified to do so. If you want a disciplined, dedicated, no nonsense instructor, call her. You won't be disappointed."

8 Beautiful Opera Arias for Beginner Singers

It is always exciting when a vocal student is ready to start studying his or her first operatic aria! One of the best things about being a classical singer is knowing you have so many great years ahead of you. After all, you’re considered in your prime in your 40s. That being said, realize that the voice you have now and the repertoire you’ll first study will be very, very different from what you sing later on in your career. It’s absolutely crucial that you sing repertoire that is …
