I began acting in community theatre when I was seventeen years old. It is something that I am absolutely passionate about. I have been fortunate enough to play some of the characters that I love; Nellie Forbush in "South Pacific"; Anita in "West Side Story"; Eliza Dolittle in "My Fair Lady" and Guinevere in "Camelot," to name a few. I have also been in two independent films.

I will be teaching two group lessons, one on Monday nights from 6:00-7:00 pm and one on Tuesday nights 7:00-8:00 pm. Monday nights will be for children and Tuesday nights for adults. I will be welcoming up to five students in each class. During my classes we will learn different acting techniques, among them improv and Stanislavski's Method.

My 30+ years of experience in community theatre and what I have learned from teachers and other actors is what I look forward to passing on to those who are as passionate about acting as I am.

About Tina
I started singing professionally at the age of fourteen. I have had leading roles in semi-professional theatre productions since I was seventeen. I have also been assistant director, musical director, choreographer, costumer and writer for many productions from West Side Story to My Fair Lady to Camelot. In the theatre I have worked with and trained children and adults of all ages. I have also conducted summer camps that were theatre workshops for children. I was a school teacher at a Charter school for eight years and I taught music and drama to children from Kindergarten to 12th grade. I have been giving voice lessons for more than twenty years. I tailor my programs based on the needs of my students. I am passionate about music and I love being able to share that with other individuals who are passionate about music. I have wor
ked with children and adults who told me "I cannot sing" and have shown them that, once you understand how your voice works, you can do things you never dreamed you could do. I will work hard to help anyone who has the love and determination to sing to improve and become a better singer.

Students I have worked with have won competitions and even been accepted into the AMDA in New York.

*** Lesson Details ***
The voice is an instrument and, like any instrument, you have to know all of its parts and how it works in order to get the most out of it. I teach my students how to properly use their voice without damaging their vocal chords. I teach vocal techniques and exercises to help my students become a better singer. My students will learn how to use their diaphragm; how to use dynamics; how to project; how to build up their lung capacity; how to sing in a clear and articulate manner; how to sing various different types of music; how to control their voice; and how to develop their natural ear for music as well as showmanship. My style and technique has been developed over many years of practical experience and learning from instructors and entertainers who work in the entertainment industry. My method of teaching is entirely my own and I have had a lot of success with it. I expect my students to work hard and be dedicated but I try to make the lessons not just instructional but fun.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Home-lessons taught in a designated music room, has an electric weighted keyboard and a karaoke machine.

I have recording capabilities that allow me to record my students and blend their voices with the background tracks that we work with. Once a song has been mastered, I record the song and email it to you so you can have it to enjoy and share with family and friends.

*** Specialties ***
I teach my students breathing techniques; how to use the diaphragm and relax the vocal chords; how to project; how to properly enunciate; how to perform a song instead of just singing it; showmanship; how to select the music that is right for them. The voice is an instrument and, like any instrument, you have to fully understand it and its different parts in order to get the most out of it.

I coach actors with the intention of my actors getting to work. And they do. I’ll practice with you to discover the way only you create. I will give you the technique to discover your uniqueness and uncanny veracity for your craft and how to maintain emotional equilibrium and to have the ability to practice discipline and a work ethic. It’s also my job, as your coach, to look out for you. I want you to explore what it's like to experience the unbelievable amount of satisfaction you can have by allowing yourself to study acting. I teach from a method base and will work on monologues, scenes, and audition materials, collaborating with you on what it is you need to understand how we go about doing this thing called acting. I can work virtually. One thing you must know about me, I am nice. I won't crush your dreams. I will, however, make sure you attain them. I can come to you or you can meet me where I teach. I am in SF and Los Angeles. I successfully work virtually with actors, too. ...

About Kathryn
Kathryn K
I am happy to be offering actors, performers and speakers private sessions to strengthen and ignite your work.
Actors; we will address technique for film, stage, on camera work, audition technique, monologue, scene study, script analysis, self tapes and sessions that educate and support actors and performers to work in the industry. We will address you.
Speakers: I offer one on one coaching in studio and online, offering tools to empower the speaker or executive to communicate with authenticity and confidence. I have worked with people from almost industry you can name.
Many of my students work with me to overcome years of shyness. This work helps them speak more comfortably and confidently. I am so happy about this.
Most of my actors and performers secure roles, agents and are accepted to the universities they desire, incl
uding but not limited to; NYU Tisch, Carnegie Mellon, Oxford, USC, UCLA and Chapman, to name a few.

I am a member of the Screen Actors Guild and American Federation of Television Artists and Actors Equity Association, a Critics Circle Award Winning Actor and Songwriter. I am always a working artist. I have worked as a producer in film and commercials and have packaged properties from inception to completion.
I am committed to helping artists experience their craft in a supportive, safe and challenging environment.
I am really nice.
I am most influenced by Stanislavsky and Lee Strasberg.
I studied at HB Studio, Mark Monroe Studios and Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music.
I teach communication skills using tools that actors know to help professionals outside of show business communicate effectively and freely. It is extremely inspiring for people who are not in the arts for a living.

You can see my actors on shows such as, HBO's, Thirteen Reasons Why, WestWorld, Blue Jasmine, Touching Home, (too many to name) and productions at Equity theatres throughout the country and countless National commercials. Most have joined SAG-AFTRA and Actors Equity.
When you study acting / singing performance w/ me you'll learn how to navigate the business because you must know how.

Auditions!!
They are definitely the most difficult and nerve wracking part of being an actor or singer, right? Booking work means your audition has to be as good as opening night.
Auditioning is about preparation and preparation takes consistent support. Look, showbiz is not a business about being alone. Artists thrive when working together. We are a collaborative bunch and collaborating to make sure you're ready and organized for your auditions makes sense.
Stop trying to muscle through this necessary step alone. No one who works consistently does that! They ask for help. ASK FOR HELP!!
Solidify your acting choices so you don't have to worry about them the day before your audition. Know your prep so you can internally drop into it when the casting director says, "Whenever you're ready."
Have your music material and performance choices prepared ahead of time.
BE AHEAD OF SCHEDULE.
Work with me when your agent sends you your sides so you show up READY. Know your lines. It's OK if your struggling with memorization.
Let's figure out How YOU memorize.
Let me coach you for online audition submissions.
If we are working virtually I will coach while you are taping yourself to submit your online audition. It works!
Let me collaborate with on script analysis in order for you to you understand your material before you audition.
Take your work seriously so you bring your most intelligent and inspiring work to the audition rooms.
You'll be bringing the agents, casting directors, directors, producers and writers the inspiration they crave regarding their beloved projects. Do that and you're gonna book.
I know you can work and I can't wait to make it happen with you.

All proceeds to the art of Acting.

I have been a performing artist since the age of 9. Over the years, I have worked under dozens of production companies for film and stage. As world-renowned author, Malcolm Gladwell, states in his book "Outliers," it takes 10,000 hours of experience to be considered an expert in any field. After hitting that mark around Christmas 2012, I began to write a curriculum and had my first student a few weeks later.

We will study personal development, (how to prepare your “slate” for each new story), practice character and script analysis, (breaking down each new story to its fundamental core), invest in an understanding for set/stage/studio performances and the histories behind them, in addition to building a skill set in monetizing your growth in the entertainment industry. Lesson basics will include improv, cold reading, monologues and more.

I pull from a wide array of past learning experiences, (from the academy to the set/stage/studio, to my ...

My 11 year old son is already a working actor, but we needed someone to iron out the "rough spots" and give him some extra coaching. Since we don't live near LA, we first started working with Tyler because he was local. He is fantastic! My son just loves him, and they connect really well. When he had an audition for a lead part in a movie, Tyler took the time outside of our normal schedule for some one on one time at the last minute. He is always friendly, professional, and always flexible with our schedule. My son did not get that part, but he auditioned for a tv pilot a few weeks later. He didn't get the part he auditioned for, but he made such an impression on the director, they actually created a special rolel for just for him. We owe some of this to Tyler, he really knows how to bring out the best in your kid. Also, his fees are reasonable. You won't be disappointed!

I initially had Corliss as a voice over teacher in a class, then decided to further my work with her as a coach and producer to create my voiceover demos. We covered all aspects of voiceover, including the physical: posture, microphone placement, etc., which I believe really enhanced my understanding of how physicality comes across via the voice. With her classical acting background, she was able to help me improve my overall speaking technique and provided me with vocal exercises to help minimize my regionalisms.

She was diligent in reviewing competitive demos to guide me to a variety of written copy and voice/energy levels that will help my demos stand up to those with more experience. She provided valuable advice regarding selection and use of materials for the demo and beyond as well as insights on the voiceover business.

I’m very pleased with the results of the two demos and expect to continue to take advantage of her coaching services as I grow in my new career.

I took a five-session Beginning Voice Acting class with Corliss in a professional recording studio. The critiques she gave me after every recording I made helped me to speak more clearly, and to increase the energy I was able to put into my recorded presentations. Without the critiques of my recordings, I would not have been able to improve my speaking ability. During the class, she made sure everyone in the class was made to feel welcome, and important. When I take the next level of the Voice Acting class series, I will be looking forward her critiques of my recorded presentations.

I have taught and directed for 30 years in NY and DC. From lesson 1, students engage with a dynamic approach to acting through Meisner-based improv. During the 1st 12 weeks, we go from basic truthful acting to dynamic scene work, followed by 12 weeks of in-depth scene study, then extensive character training and in-depth film and audition technique. My students are successful in film, theater, commercials and TV in DC, NY and LA.

About Robert
I have taught acting for over 30 years based in the Meisner Technique, and I write and direct my own plays and films. I have years of experience as an actor, jazz saxophone player, singer and poet, as well as a philosophy degree, which I bring to my understanding of acting. I use this rich background to focus on the creativity, intelligence and improvisational abilities of each student in their acting process. I know what it takes to walk into any acting situation ready to play the role. My goal is to create actors who enjoy their work and can act skillfully in film, theater, tv and auditions. I emphasize character work in the program, an important and often neglected part of the acting process. I have cast my advanced students in my original projects in the DC area, and most recently directed my original play, "The Big A: Scenes fro
m a Vanishing Landscape" for the 2014 DC Fringe Festival. I have directed two films: "Adams Morgan: The Movie," which premiered at the Avalon Theater in 2010 and was selected and shown as part of the East of the River Festival in DC; and a short film from my original screenplay titled "Crazy" which is currently in the editing phase. My student Mack Leamon is currently appearing in the Arena Stage production of "Raisin in the Sun" and I am very proud of his accomplishment!

For me as an actor, the benefit of a great coach or director has always been that they've helped me reach places in my work I couldn't have achieved on my own. As a coach myself, I'm most thrilled by those small (or monumental!) breakthroughs that my students and I discover together during the coaching process. The cool thing is that I've found the progress my students make in their craft will often inspire me to new heights in my own. (A bonus to already enriching work)!

If you want to develop new material for upcoming auditions, hone and refresh (or completely change) your monologues, or simply work on the craft of acting, I can help. I work to gear your coaching sessions to the goals you need to achieve, offering an experience created around what you need to work on and want to learn.

With a BFA in Acting and Directing, an MFA in Classical Acting, and over 20 years of professional acting experience in the theatre and on-camera, I can offer tools for your tool belt ...

About Jason
I've been performing roles in the theatre and on-camera for over 25 years. My BFA in Acting and Directing and my MFA in Classical Acting have afforded me a wide variety of tools and skills to employ in the craft of acting. Performing with professional repertory companies like ACT Theatre, Book-It Repertory, Shakespeare Santa Cruz, and the Shakespeare Theatre in DC, I've gained personal knowledge of the art, craft, and business of being a working actor, which I will put to work for you, in a personalized one-on-one coaching session, either online or in person.

Here's how I can help.

SCENE WORK AND MONOLOGUES: Whether it's dusting off and refreshing monologues you've performed more times than you can count, or developing pieces or scenes for the first time for an upcoming stage or on-camera audition, we can break the material down togethe
r, work on the clarity of your choices and active objectives, and access your personal connection to the material so you'll be ready and confident with a one-of-a-kind performance that reflects the strengths you bring to acting and the story you want to tell.

SHAKESPEARE: Perhaps the most daunting of styles for a contemporary actor, we'll get down to the nuts and bolts of some of the most challenging (and rewarding) material. The famous soliloquies are famous for a reason and can certainly be intimidating, and more obscure material can seem thick and inaccessible. We'll chip away at the mystique of Shakespeare by digging in to the text and verse, activating the language with specificity, and cultivating your personal take on well-known characters or lesser known material they might not have seen before.

DIALECTS AND ACCENTS: From English to Irish to Southern American and beyond, a well executed dialect can be the edge you need to land (and play) that meaty role. I use a multipronged approach that involves ear training to develop an authentic sound, text analysis for clarity of sound substitutions (IPA Proficient), and exercises that pare away stilted and unnatural speech to cultivate an authentic sounding voice that will be your own.

VOICEOVER: I've been booking voiceover gigs on TV, radio, and the internet for over 10 years with clients like Microsoft, Liberty Mutual, UW Medicine, Tableau, Reno Toyota, and Golden One State Credit Union. I can offer tips and tricks of the trade, as well as techniques that can take your VO submissions to the next level and help you book these lucrative contracts.

Let's get started!

I work with students on developing a set of tools to carry into their auditions, performances, and future professional work. I don't believe the successful actor is achieved through textbook work alone, but instead through channeling individual interest and discovering the unique skillset of the performer.

About Jeff
Jeff has performed lead roles with the Mississippi Opera, Belmont University Opera Theater, and was selected in 2018 to perform an American Premier in Nashville, TN of a South Korean Work accompanied by choir and orchestra. In 2014, Jeff was granted the opportunity to study at the Juilliard School through private instruction and later studied at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music with performance emphasis in voice and piano. Jeff currently works with students from beginner to advanced levels in voice and piano. He specializes in jazz, musical theater, and classical styles of singing and is happy to cater needs to the individual student.

I would be delighted to bring my on stage and television experience to your knowledge. I've performed in various theatre productions in NYC before filming recurring roles on hit tv shows with top directors, including Bret Easton Ellis. While I fervently focus on the craft of acting, writing and producing my plays and TV scripts has provided additional understanding of how to get to a character.

I understand how to communicate with actors and guide them to essentially teach themselves. I have had many coaching sessions but if you don't know how to find what you need from the character on your own, you will struggle in summoning your own voice. And that connection and authenticity is what will lead you to the character's truth, and your success.

I am creative and empathetic by nature. I will encourage you to push yourself out of your comfort zone, in a safe, non judgmental environment and to marry these techniques both in front of the camera or on stage.

About dre
At my core, since I was a child, I have been an artist. As a painter, writer, lyricist and actress, I engross myself in the arts and love to show others how to express themselves. Artistry to me is not a choice, but a necessity for those truly drawn to it. With my experience on various tv and film sets, the mechanics and technical side of filming are not forgotten in my sessions, but I will always seek to summon the artist's individual voice. Your truth will stand out. That is what I will help guide you to, and that is what casting hunts for.
