Learning to play clarinet is wonderful.

We will utilize the Rubank Elementary Method for the beginner clarinet student.

I will teach you how to read music, play major and minor scales while performing some of your favorite simple classical to classic pieces.

The clarinet is an incredibly expressive instrument, but only if you can cover the holes! I specialize in helping students make music with this incredibly capable instrument!

I love to teach students of any level from beginner to advanced. If you are a beginner, in the first few lessons you will learn how to put the clarinet together, how to put the reed on the mouthpiece, and be able to play a simple melody. I like to use the Klose Method book, and simple solos including music from film scores like Star Wars. Advanced players can work on clarinet technique and repertoire including orchestral excerpts and major solo literature. I look forward to meeting you!

Specializing in saxophone, clarinet, flute and piano, I have experience in both public and private after-school programs, as well as in-home lessons settings. My formal music training began at the age of five in Vilnius Lithuania with the famous Vladimir Tchekassin. Since then, I have excelled in my saxophone studies at the Vilnius Conservatory and at the Music Academy in Cologne Germany while pursuing an active performing career. Most recently, in 2005, I followed my passion for teaching music by completing an advanced Instructor program in Instrumental Pedagogy at the Music Academy in Cologne.

I have a great deal of experience teaching beginners, intermediate and advanced students. All ages welcome!

My teaching style is applicable to students of every skill level. Every student requires a tailor-made plan to teach them effectively. I plan to incorporate fundamental skills such as scales, articulation exercises, breathing exercises, and partial exercises to assess students strengths and weaknesses. I will put 100% of my effort into every student, but the focus will be different for each individual. I am a very energetic and enthusiastic person and I bring that to individual lessons. I firmly believe that if a teacher is excited and passionate about a subject, that will be passed on to the students.

Clarinet is all about getting the fingers moving and keeping the air flowing! My lessons will add an element of cool breathing exercises and weekly finger challenges.
