I customize my students curriculum based on their specific goals. I feel teaching students to play and transcribe songs and solos is my most important job. Most students come to me looking for structure so I try and provide a clear path for them to reach their goals. Although I love teaching music theory I understand that it is not for everyone, so I only offer theoretical principles when it is appropriate or asked for. I rarely use textbooks, but I do employ a lot of exercises and educational material when it applies to a lesson.
For students with no prior music experience I use text books, and exercises to strengthen their technique, expose them to musical ideas, and give them a foundation of basic music theory. After that is accomplished I move into a curriculum that is more personal to their specific goals.
About Jared
I have been playing instruments and performing live since I was 11 years old. Initially trained in classical piano I added guitar to my musical palette at the age of 14. In college I spent time continuing my studies in both piano and guitar and received a bachelors of fine arts with a concentration

AA Guitar Performance from Los Angeles College of Music
Online Guitar Teacher
Guitar lessons with me are unique because although I am young, I am a very experienced teacher already. I started learning guitar at 10 years old. By the time I was 16 I was gigging and teaching kids in my neighborhood and any Craigslist clients I could find. At 18, I took a 1.5 year program at the Los Angeles College of Music, where I graduated with an AA in guitar performance. Since then I have worked as a professional musician, and also as a teacher /consultant with Adopt the Arts, a non profit started by Matt Sorum (drummer of Guns N Roses, Hollywood Vampires) and director Abby Berman. In my time at Adopt the Arts I have amassed over 4000 teaching hours of teaching kids ages 4-13, so I am very experienced with kids and get along with them great since. I have also been giving other private lessons to people of all ages since 2011. Qualities that make me stand out as a teacher are relatability, patience, and an ability to identify the proper pace for the student to enjoy the ...

or looking to "spice up" your playing ability, Numan is the teacher for you.
He's patient, knowledgable and always go's the extra mile to help me during our lessons together. I've had previous teachers who charged more and are nowhere near as talented; my playing has inproved drastically since studying with him and friends have noticed..Highly Recommended!"

Remi definitely is a music virtuoso. Not every great musician is a good music teacher, but Remi deserves both titles."

Eric is an awesome teacher with a ton of knowledge and lots of patients. He's super flexible when it comes to scheduling, and is always well prepared for the day's lesson. His ability to explain and break down complex material into layman's terms has been crucial to my understanding of music theory. We cover mostly rock, blues, & metal (in my favor), and I can honestly say his lessons has amplified my progression in speed, technicality, & overall confidence in playing. He'll always exceed the alloted time to ensure you leave with full understanding of the day's lesson, but never ask for anything extra for it. Besides being an amazing guitar player and an incredible composer, Eric is a genuine guy who really enjoys seeing his students progress. I highly recommend!"
