Clarissa N. Los Angeles, CA

I've been writing songs my entire life. As a published songwriter, I have helped many of my piano students over the years become beautiful writers themselves and enjoy the process immensely.

About Clarissa

I studied piano in Germany with Lola Poirier (a student of the famous Alfred Cortot) for 11 years, then with Phillip Evans in New York (professor at the Manhattan School of Music) and finally with world-renowned concert pianist Eugene Liszt at Carnegie-Mellon University, where I received my Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance with a Minor in Child Pedagogy. For the past twenty eight years I have been teaching students of all levels and ages, incorporating some of my former teachers' methods with my own teaching style. I am passionate about awakening a hunger in each of my students for bringing and keeping music in their lives forever. I don't look at my students as children who play an instrument, but as young artists on the road to self-discovery and musical fulfillment! ...

Clarissa is very helpful and patient! I have my piano class in a studio in the backyard of her house, I like the place a lot! She is a warm, smart, humorous and amazing women who can encourage me to keep on practicing! She helped me to reading the notes in a smart way, and we shared a wonderful time together to go through those beautiful pieces! I am willing to recommend her to anyone who is willing to take piano class!

Hello! I am a nurturing voice coach with many years experience working with all styles of music. I am currently on the faculty of a contemporary music college teaching songwriting and pop/rock vocal technique. I have worked with artists on Columbia Records, the Voice, American Idol, Jimmy Kimmel. My students have been accepted at LACHSA, UC Irvine and Belmont College of Music. Lauren is inspirational!

I began studying with Lauren about five years ago. Her instruction in musical theatre, opera, and pop has been some of the best that I have ever received. In fact, thanks to her coaching, I was able to book a role in my first Equity musical, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, at the Pantages Theatre in LA. She has a passion for music, is an excellent accompanist, and knows how to work with developing singers. Her engaging, encouraging direction continues to inspire me to be the best vocalist I can be!

Lauren is an amazing teacher!

Lauren is an incredible teacher! I came to her without much experience in vocal technique, and she has helped me improve so much. She has taught me many useful techniques to stay on pitch even when the notes are really high, to have good breath support, and to project my voice more.

Lauren is a very supportive teacher. She likes to establish friendships with her students, and she truly cares about what's going on in their lives.

I've taken lessons with Lauren for a little over 3 years now because I've had such a great experience with her. I'd recommend her to anybody! She has helped me get into my school's advanced choir, prepare solo songs, and just practice my singing technique in general.

Also, scheduling voice lessons with Lauren is very convenient. We never have problems finding a common time. I love the studio where she teaches too! It's really cool. I have nothing but positive feedback about my time with her, and I plan to continue lessons with her!

About Thomas

From a young age, I have been deeply involved in the musical community. I began studying piano when I was three, and throughout my education, I’ve learned from such accomplished instructors as Belle Mehus and Christopher Taylor. After receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Piano Performance from The University of Mary in North Dakota, I continue to study, teach, perform, and compose. I’ve also studied guitar and bass for nearly twenty years.  I love playing and teaching these instruments because of the strong correlations between the way they are tuned and played and the way western music theory works—as well as the pure enjoyment that comes from them!  Additionally, I have twenty years of education in oboe and other woodwind instruments. I was principle oboist for two orchestras and reached ...

Bryan L. Playa del Rey, CA

About Bryan

Bryan is a lifelong student trained in both Contemporary and Classical methodology. Bryan's extensive education paired with his passion for music make him the perfect teacher for any student. Bryan's love for music started at a young age. He began taking private guitar lessons at the age of 10 learning the basics. This knowledge has served as the basis for all of his musical training as it provided a strong backbone of fundamental skills to build upon. Graduating from the University of Oregon in 2005, he practiced and perfected the classical approach to music. Bryan's education continued at the Musicians Institute based in the music capital of the world, Los Angeles. Here he diversified his music skills with vigorous training in the contemporary study of music. This contrast allows Bryan ...

Very helpful!

Bryan has been a very helpful, knowledgeable and flexible guitar teacher. He uses my interests and questions to drive lesson content. I find personally that understanding the music theory behind what I'm learning to play is very helpful, so we've spent a lot of time breaking things down. He's very knowledgeable. He also does a good job of explaining how he uses his intuition as a guitar player and musician, which helps me develop intuition of my own.I would definitely recommend Bryan!

I am so excited you are interested in diving into your creative depths to explore your songwriting and composing abilities, and I'd be honored to help you along with your process! I have been writing, performing, and singing my original music for years, working with artists such as Daniel Bernard Roumain and Marina De Ratmiroff, and I have developed some exciting ways to take songs from original concept to stage performance! I have written well over 50 songs, ten of which were on my first album,"Pericardium," which was released in 2013.

I help students take their ideas from poems and work them into a structured song format, help create the chord arrangements underneath, and I even bring a portable recording studio to you when it is complete! I also help songwriters tap into their music abilities through piano and voice, helping them with technique so they can comfortably perform their own music and heighten their performance abilities.

About Dylan

Hello future students and parental units! It is with great passion that I express my love of teaching and my musical journey with you. I grew up in a very musical family in North Carolina. We would travel to many "Old-Time" music festivals, and I would sing and dance to my parents' music, performing often with them. I soon began classical piano lessons when I was six years old. I went to college for music while teaching piano, voice, and songwriting at a local K-8 school and started my own mobile lesson business. I continue to learn new voice and piano techniques today. I work hard to create a safe environment for students to explore their highest music potential through technique, daily practice, and creativity, and I give parents the tools to aid in their children's musical ...

Dylan is an entity unto herself; a most gentle soul, incredibly (and beyond) creative, original, mindful, and generous. Never will you meet a brighter ray of sunshine or a more genuine spirit.

I always tell Joanna Rose to follow her own lead, to be uniquely wonderful, to follow no, one, individual...with the exception of Dylan.
I find myself telling her to look to her mentor, emulate and be encouraged by her, because her mentor will never lead her astray...In no way does Dylan lead her students on any path other than their own.

It's a powerful individual that can take someone's talents and help them use those gifts to form their own unique "package" to present to the world.

Joanna Rose is forever changed by her connection with Dylan. They met when Joanna was a little First Grader, who was hesitant, but anxious to share her talents with the world! Dylan cradled Joanna Rose in loving kindness, encouraging her to sing, write, and play, POWERFULLY. From deep within her heart, Dylan nurtures, so very naturally.

Without Dylan's entrance onto the stage of Joanna Rose's life, Joanna would never have found the part of herself that truly has become her "self."

I cannot, as Joanna Rose's mother, have dreamed of more. Thank you Dylan~ It has been a magical eight years...

We had the wonderful opportunity to work w/ Dylan in our home for 2 years. Both of my daughters loved working w/ her & flourished under her tutelage. She is an extremely gifted & dedicated young lady that was able to find the strengths of both of my girls & expand upon them. They studied voice, composition, & classical piano w/ Dylan & I couldn't have been happier w/ how they progressed. We certainly miss Dylan & feel very fortunate in being able to work w/ her.

Dylan is a magnificent musician in her own right, but she also shines in being able to connect with children of all ages and adjust her teaching styles appropriately. She is a literal muse to her students, who begin writing their own music in no time. She provides them with unwavering support and courage to allow them to blossom into their own.
