I've been writing songs my entire life. As a published songwriter, I have helped many of my piano students over the years become beautiful writers themselves and enjoy the process immensely.
I studied piano in Germany with Lola Poirier (a student of the famous Alfred Cortot) for 11 years, then with Phillip Evans in New York (professor at the Manhattan School of Music) and finally with world-renowned concert pianist Eugene Liszt at Carnegie-Mellon University, where I received my Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance with a Minor in Child Pedagogy. For the past twenty eight years I have been teaching students of all levels and ages, incorporating some of my former teachers' methods with my own teaching style. I am passionate about awakening a hunger in each of my students for bringing and keeping music in their lives forever. I don't look at my students as children who play an instrument, but as young artists on the road to self-discovery and musical fulfillment! ...
I have been teaching guitar to students on the East and West Coasts of the United States for over 20 years. I was always interested in music and made my first “recording” at the age of 2 and a half. I got serious about playing the guitar when I was 10 years old after hearing the legendary Randy Rhoads for the first time. I begged my parents for a guitar, which I received at Christmas, along with a parental demand that I take classical guitar lessons, and a warning that if I did not practice, my parents would sell the guitar. Six months later, I still had the guitar, and a brand new electric guitar. I never stopped practicing, and spent summers at the National Guitar Summer Workshop, where I even built a guitar at age 15. By the time I was in high school, I was regularly playing in ...
Songwriting: We could start anywhere from the basics of building a song, learning the rules and breaking them, to producing a song and performing it live. Nowadays, writing a song on an instrument, having some basic chords, melody and lyrics isn't necessarily where it ends anymore. Because technology is evolving fast, it's becoming more and more of a one man process where the same person will write, produce and record a song. I have started writing by using an instrument (which I still do now) to using software (Ableton Live) and writing within the software and treating the production of the song as part of the writing process. I have also gone through figuring out how to perform what's already recorded and written live so that it sounds cohesive. All those things I can help with, teach and explain derived from my personal experience.
Originally from Moscow, Russia I started my training in Classical music. However, growing up and listening to Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, Pink Floyd, Queen etc. I wanted to learn more about that kind of music. My curiosity and passion led me all the way to another continent where I was admitted to the University of Miami's Jazz Vocal Department at the age of 16. While I was at school I realized that I not only wanted to perform, but also write music. After graduation I moved to NYC to pursue being a singer/songwriter. Since then I've recorded 3 albums and have been actively recording, producing, and performing ever since. I am currently working on a new project, which has gathered the attention of NPR, WSJ and The American Songwriter. Before starting lessons I evaluate ...

From a young age, I have been deeply involved in the musical community. I began studying piano when I was three, and throughout my education, I’ve learned from such accomplished instructors as Belle Mehus and Christopher Taylor. After receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Piano Performance from The University of Mary in North Dakota, I continue to study, teach, perform, and compose. I’ve also studied guitar and bass for nearly twenty years. I love playing and teaching these instruments because of the strong correlations between the way they are tuned and played and the way western music theory works—as well as the pure enjoyment that comes from them! Additionally, I have twenty years of education in oboe and other woodwind instruments. I was principle oboist for two orchestras and reached ...
I have been playing guitar for 14 years and teaching guitar and bass for 7 years. I have worked as a private and group guitar instructor at several music education establishments in the Chicago area and in Eugene, Oregon as well. I have also worked as a band coach for youth groups, where I taught them cover songs, helped them write their own songs and prepared them for live performances. I studied at Columbia College Chicago majoring in Music Composition and Classical Guitar. I also studied classical guitar at Lane C.C. and received an Associate of Arts Degree where I studied with University of Oregon Classical Guitarist John Jarvie. I started taking private guitar lessons as a teenager for several years and played in my high school jazz band along with original rock bands. ...
