I was having trouble finding an appropriate song for an audition and Tiffini used her expertise to help guide me toward a few appropriate selections. We worked on each song and now I have some solid additions to my audition repertoire. Thank you Tiffini! I really enjoy working with you and appreciate all your knowledge and creative input in developing my vocal style and range. When I auditioned, I got the part! I would definitely recommend Tiffini for lessons.

Betsy F.

San Diego, CA

Lessons are fun. My philosophy is that students should have music in their lives and benefit from the lessons they take now for years to come. Learning music will help students with math skills, study habits, and develop a skill that will last for a lifetime.

After 3 months students will understand the fundamentals of their voice, warm up properly, be able to read and sing introductory passages. After 6 months the student will have learned basic music theory, how to read music, and have advanced through singing multiple songs.

About Betsy

Music is the biggest passion in my life. I love being able to share that gift with my students, and look forward to their progress as much as my own. I continue to grow and develop as a musician, and love connecting with people through music. My students all learn to love and appreciate music, theory and performing as I share my knowledge and expertise.

I have degrees in Violin, Viola and Vocal Performance, that I earned while on full scholarship for music. I started violin as a young child with the Suzuki Method and later added viola. I began singing professional gigs while still i
n high school, and was the youngest member ever with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra Chorus at 17. I also have extensive experience singing in non-classical groups and bands and am comfortable performing and teaching musical theater, pop, country, opera, operetta, and church music. With solid vocal technique my students are able to cross genres with ease, and sing whatever inspires them musically.

I currently sing with the San Diego Master Chorale and the San Diego Symphony. I was concertmaster in several symphony orchestras and have played as section leader for viola in numerous groups. I also play in and manage a string quartet and am also currently coaching small group string ensembles. My siblings and I have played in our family string quartet for over 20 years, and still perform together. Most recently I was chosen to record a new song Glow for Disneyland's California Adventure World of Color Winter Dreams.

I am comfortable teaching with various different methods, and cater lesson plans to the individual student. With over 14 years of teaching experience, I have taught students that vary in age from 3 to 75 years old, and am very comfortable with teaching children.

Lessons are fun. My philosophy is that students should have music in their lives and benefit from the lessons they take now for years to come. Learning to play a musical instrument will help students with math skills, study habits, and develop a skill that will last for a lifetime.

After 3 months students will understand the fundamentals of their string instrument or voice, know how to care for their instrument, warm up properly, be able to read and play/sing introductory passages. After 6 months the student will have learned basic music theory, how to read music, and have advanced through playing/singing multiple songs.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I have a violin and viola that I bring to assist in teaching lessons. I expect that the students provide an instrument and their books. A keyboard or piano is essential for voice students for vocalization. A student need not know how to play piano in order to take voice lessons.

*** Specialties ***
Vocal students are encouraged to pick songs from whatever genre sparks their interest. With violin and viola I use the suzuki method of training and follow the books and lessons, I use other books to supplement scales/technique.

Betsy has been my daughters coach for about a year now, and she is wonderful. My daughter has learned so much in the past year, and now she's interested in singing, thanks to Betsy. Betsy has a wonderful spirit, she knows how to communicate on their level, and she makes them feel as though they can do anything. I also like her because she encourages kids to follow their dreams, and to do the right things, and we all know that it takes a village to raise a child. I would highly recommend Betsy!

Adina S.

Santee, CA

I have been teaching singing for 2 years so far, and have been singing professionally for the last 15 years. I find great joy in passing on correct technique, good habits, and confidence for the most successful development of your singing voice! My goal is to help my students free their own unique singing voice at their own pace, and in the healthiest ways possible. We work on not only singing the songs, but presenting/performing them. I specialize in Broadway and Pop styles. I provide all sheet music and mp3 digital/CD instrumental recordings to use at home and in lessons. I am so excited to help you build your beautiful voice!

About Adina

Hi! I'm Adina S. I am very excited to help you achieve your singing goals, whether they be big or small! My main objective as your teacher is to help you find your personal singing voice, and use it to your greatest potential.

I have a good mixture of formal education and work experience. This makes it easy for me to pass on the healthy techniques and also be current on what to expect in an audition or creating a successful performance. I attended the American Musical and Dramatic Academy with focus on Musical Theatre. I also studied at Glendale College and performed in their choir and jaz
z ensemble. I have received 10 years of private voice instruction with many wonderful teachers hailing from USIU, UCLA, and Pepperdine University. I have been a professional singer and musical theatre performer for 14 years, and have performed all over southern California. I recently have started musically directing for high school shows and also the youth choir at my church. I will continue part time in performance, but now wish to share my knowledge, skills, and the joy of singing with others!

*** Lesson Details ***
All my lessons start with warming up the voice using scales and breathing exercises. We will also spend time to focus on new healthy singing habits. We will learn the basic fundamentals of reading music - applied to the songs we have picked to sing. We will pick at least 2 songs to be working on at all times. I always allow my students to pick their songs. Singing what you love always pays off. I will provide handouts and journal pages for your at home practice, so bringing a folder/binder of some sort is encouraged. I am fairly laid back about the journals, but it helps us to stay on the same page at all times.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Yamaha electric piano, ability to play CD and mp3 players, recording ability.

*** Specialties ***
Broadway, Breathing, Vocal Performance, acting a song.

Adina is a gem. She has a magical Disney princess voice and the soul of a wise, experienced teacher. I am the Director of Music, pianist and organist at our church. Adina has been cantoring at least one mass weekly for a few years now. She is a quick study and very easy to work with. She also cantors most of our funerals and weddings. She has worked wonders one-on-one with many of our young cantors. It seems she knows exactly 'what' to say and 'when' to get the best from our young singers. I always hear immediate improvement after she works with them, even for a short time. One of our parishioners is even sponsoring a young cantor so she can take voice lessons with Adina.
