I am a classically-trained and educated Cellist with deep experience playing with Symphony Orchestra’s, Chamber Orchestra’s, Ensemble’s, Quartets, and Solo. I am currently working at Loudoun symphony orchestra and Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra. If your goal is to start learning how to play cello, improve your skill, to play any particular piece, get ready for any special event, develop your sight reading or just enjoy playing this beautiful instrument - I am happy to help you. I know how to find inspiration, making interesting even exercise routine, we will work at developing your artistic and professional skills and find the best way to express yourself by the cello.

It is my foremost belief as a teacher that my students are truly capable of anything they set their mind to. I teach with positive reinforcement and never judgement to create a warm and comfortable environment that fosters and nurtures potential! I see teaching as more than teaching a person to learn the cello, but as an opportunity to accompany students on their journey towards embracing who they are, creating meaningful art, and connecting to the world through music.

No matter the age or prior experience of the student, you can expect a heavy focus on establishing a firm foundation of cello technique. Without this foundation, the student can only progress so much. With the foundation set and solid, the possibilities are endless! I teach tension-free cello playing. There should never be pain or discomfort anywhere in the body which is why I have such a large focus on establishing proper technique.

I am an emotive cellist with two decades experience. I have toured internationally performing my original works including London, Paris, and Berlin. As a member of the Pierce Quartet I regularly arrange and perform music for weddings and other special occasions. I love sharing classical music with all levels of students. Lessons with me are calm, meditative experiences where we use peaceful techniques to enter into the heart of music.

I love sharing my passion for music-making with others. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned player wishing to brush up on your skills, I can help you develop a more in-depth experience with your instrument. I work with students of all ages. I emphasize developing proper technique, achieving efficient practice, and paying attention to details in the music.

I LOVE teaching cello! I enjoy not only sharing my love of the music and the instrument, but also helping to expand my students' knowledge and hone their technique. My approach focuses on giving students the tools they need to become more independent musicians, so that the learning process will continue outside the lessons. This mostly consists of teaching a student how to practice efficiently and effectively, so they develop a good ear and become adept and solving their own musical problems or struggles. I will work with you to reach your cello playing goals and to enjoy yourself in the process!

I started playing with the Suzuki method at age 5. I have been teaching cello to ages 5 to adult for over 8 years. While not a concert or symphony level player, I have been providing quality lessons and guidance to beginners and intermediate players of all ages and interest for years. As with all of my lessons, I provide a core curriculum as well as customizing to the student's needs and interest. From Bach and other Suzuki classics, to modern favorites like The Beatles or Pirates of the Caribbean.
