Welcome to my violin and viola studio! I believe that every student can enjoy the process of studying an instrument, and can learn to play with ease and joy. As a result, I work to determine each student's learning style, look for ways to encourage individual ownership of learning, and adapt my approach to help meet each student’s needs and goals. I teach both Suzuki and traditional lessons, and draw from a variety of musical styles and approaches to help students develop a broad range of skills that include a strong technical foundation, ear training, sight-reading, ensemble playing, and musical self-expression. Through this approach, I hope to help students develop a lifelong love for music that will serve them in all future endeavors, musical or otherwise.

Hi! My name is Hua and I'm originally from Shanghai, China. I'm currently pursuing an Artist Diploma at Jacobs of Music. I've always loved making friends, helping people, sharing my thoughts and that led me to teaching! I have experience in teaching every level no matter if you just picked up the violin or can already play Paganini caprice I'm your girl! Learn with me I will share my knowledges with you as well as any Asian culture you're curious of. My ultimate goal is to be your friend, your guidance, someone who can be there when you need help, rather than a be teacher who tells you what to do. I will make plans for each individual because every soul is UNIQUE.

I love teaching strings. Violin is my main instrument. I focus heavily on bow technique. I have gotten students into youth orchestras and passed college auditions. I like to use the Essential Elements and Suzuki books.
I also offer online group lessons at a highly discounted price. I suggest that all my students join. This is a great option for kids while class is out.

I have been teaching violin since 1998. I have an earned Masters degree in music and enjoy teaching students of all ages. I am happily married with 5 children at home--4 of them are musicians as well (the youngest is 4).. Students will quickly learn not only the basics of music theory, but will be playing songs as early as their first lesson. It is extremely rewarding watching students have fun, excel, and fall in love with making music. I presently teach music at 3 schools (1 college) and only have a few lessons slots available. I look forward to working with you.
