I am currently working at Loudoun symphony orchestra and Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra. As a teacher, I have worked with the whole gamut of students. I have served as the undergraduate cello instructor at Stony Brook University, worked with many young beginners, adult amateurs, as well as anyone in between. I enjoy the challenge of finding the best path for each student, carefully considering their strengths, weaknesses, and particular interests to design a curriculum that best serves their goals and predilections. I recently moved to Oakland, California, and am currently expanding my cello and gamba studio.

I LOVE teaching cello! I enjoy not only sharing my love of the music and the instrument, but also helping to expand my students' knowledge and hone their technique. My approach focuses on giving students the tools they need to become more independent musicians, so that the learning process will continue outside the lessons. This mostly consists of teaching a student how to practice efficiently and effectively, so they develop a good ear and become adept and solving their own musical problems or struggles. I will work with you to reach your cello playing goals and to enjoy yourself in the process!

Hello, my name is Bailey and I love teaching cello! I am a professional pianist and public school orchestra teacher. I have a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education and a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from the Fredonia School of Music. I am a certified K-12 music teacher in New York State. I have been giving private lessons for 10 years to a variety of learners ranging in age and skill level.
My students walk away each week feeling empowered and confident in their abilities. I am able to push you while making you feel excited about new challenges. I am able to assess what you need, and offer you meaningful feedback in small, digestible chunks. Along with all of this, I make lessons fun!
