I played guitar when I was a boy and now teach Acoustic Guitar plus Electric Guitar and Effects. I specialize in songs from the American Songbook (show tunes movie themes, etc) plus the blues and improvisation for working musicians.

Berklee Graduate with two degrees in Music and a Conservatory diploma. I love teaching and I have been doing it professionally for almost two decades. I can teach any level and most popular genres, as I have been working as a session musician in Los Angeles and helped hundreds of students reach their goals for many years.

I have a fluid teaching approach based on my REAL LIFE EXPERIENCE with an emphasis on improving technique, musicianship and a “truth is love approach” to ensure musical improvement within the first two weeks of lessons! I sincerely believe creating music should be a joyful & fulfilling experience and one that will be a positive change in someone’s life (as it has been for mine). I teach all genres of music on multiple instruments and specialize in audition preparation, real-life gig preparation and musical mastery. I want my students to reach their musical potential and aspirations, while having a good time doing something that they love.

I am a full time musician and music teacher with over 20 years experience teaching guitar in one on one as well as group settings. I enjoy teaching all styles of music (especially jazz) and working with students of all ages.
I have founded and currently direct two Rock Band programs as well as teaching between 25-30 private students in my studio weekly. My students range in age between 6 and 73 years. I will create your lesson plan based on your goals and learning style. I can teach you standard notation, tablature or how to better use your ear. We can incorporate all three approaches. As your teacher I will guide you to having the most enjoyable experience you can learning guitar.
As well as guitar I teach beginner and intermediate ukulele and beginner bass. I also teach all levels of music theory. If a student is interested, a knowledge of theory is essential to understanding how songs are written as well as how to improvise.

I have been playing guitar for just over 10 years now. I typically begin with guitar when writing a song and love playing along to just about anything. With diligent practice, a new student on the guitar can expect to be able to play basic solos, read tablature and chord charts after just a few weeks. I particularly enjoy working with singer/songwriters who have intermediate experience on guitar because I have a handful of shortcuts and ways of thinking, that connect all the dots and cultivate musical proficiency in any genre. As with all instruments, the ability to replicate what you hear in music you listen to, is the most useful thing I can teach you. This is done with ear training and music theory (pattern based learning).
