I believe that an encouraged student is a successful student! I have been teaching students of all ages and abilities for over 20 years, and believe that anyone can have FUN learning to play the drums. As a teacher, I can give you the tools, technique, and confidence to achieve your drumming goals, whatever they might be. Whether you're just starting out or picking drums up again after a hiatus, I will work with you to create a customized curriculum to help you unlock your full potential. Drums are one of the most fun instruments to learn, and I am adept at performing and teaching all styles, from rock to jazz to everything in between.

I have played as a substitute drummer in the orchestra of the Off-Broadway show "Jersey Boys," and have also backed up Adam Pascal ("RENT," "Aida"), Christine Ohlman (vocalist for the Saturday Night Live Band), and Carolee Carmello ("The Addams Family," "Mamma Mia!"). I have also appeared on "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert" as a musician extra. ...

The drum is an amazing instrument! I am so excited to teach you more about the drum! I am an interactive teacher who can assist you in many ways in regards to learning how to play the drum including; correct posture, stick grip, stick technique, improved sight-reading skills, greater music theory knowledge, and performance skills. I recommend using the Essential Elements for Band book series. Once we connect and I can find out more about your playing level we can find the perfect book for your. I want to know what you want to learn! Of course, I will go over the fundamentals to make sure you have the right tools to play what you want. However, my main focus is to help you foster a love for your instrument, and the best way to do that is to make sure you’re learning things you want to learn!

Lesson regiments are tailored to synthesize student goals and musical passions, setting a foundation in the instrument of interest.

Technique and practice-exercises provide the core for study and development (but we won't let that get in the way of the fun!).

My teaching philosophy largely derives from experience with master-drummers of different fields of study; therefore, my modality is a synthesis of concepts designed to ensure anyone's improvement. We all have rhythm!
