Hello beautiful singers! My name is Hannah and I have been steadily training for the past 15 years, specializing in vocal pedagogy. Through years of training in both the professional world and extensive education, I firmly believe that the key to easy and lasting singing is in healthy vocal production. My desire is to transform the voices placed in my care through the simple science of muscular development, and transform hearts through the repetition of them seeing what they are truly capable of.

There are a number of reasons someone may wish to take music lessons. Whatever the specific reason, striving to achieve one’s “artistic truth” is the goal. My holistic view of education is to help a student find his/her own individual “voice” as a singer and a creative artist. I believe the role of an educator is not to relay information in a detached context, what I call teaching “at” a student, but to lead that student in a discussion of the music, pulling information from the student in a collaborative effort between two or more individuals. It is my goal to facilitate an emotionally safe environment for students to take risks, make mistakes, listen critically, and articulate his/her thoughts. We work towards freedom of expression and letting go of fear. Fear is the single greatest enemy of any artist: If you're afraid of how your music will go, you won't be making art.
A healthy mind, body, and spirit all work together to make a strong, whole individual. The development of ...

We have seen a lot a progress on my daughter's performance ever since she start classes with them."

My high C/C6 came by early December, a couple of weeks after starting with Asuka. Some of this is my voice type, but I believe anyone who works with Asuka will see improvement.
I am taking lessons with a well-regarded pop teacher from the same time period and I've developed almost entirely from Asuka's lessons vs the other teacher, and quickly too with consistent practice. What Asuka teachers carries over to non-classical singing also.
Asuka is not rigid in her approach, thankfully, and she is so nice about the million things beginner singers can correct. I don't feel embarassed singing in front of her because she is non-judgmental.
I did some online lessons when she was traveling, and I got just as much out of them so even if I leave New York I will continue working with her."

Amber is the best voice teacher I have ever had. I needed help quickly to prepare an audition piece for a University I was applying to out of state. I was under a real deadline and I had heard about Amber from one of her other students. We began to work on the piece and it was obvious I needed help with some of my techniques. Even though Amber was fitting me between other scheduled lessons, she found another time the next day and we worked on technique and over the next few days finished the audition piece. It was incredible and even the voice faculty commented on my song, and they were really impressed."

I've been having lessons with Asuka since February of this year and it has been a wonderful experience. As a beginner with absolutely no formal training in singing whatsoever, the whole process of learning to sing opera can seem like an extremely daunting task. She is encouraging and friendly, yet treats her art form with the thoroughness and respect it deserves. She really takes the time to explain proper technique throughout the entire process-- from things like maintaining proper support for your voice and more importantly how to sing opera without hurting yourself. Personally, she is helping me to find potential that I didn't think I had before. I feel very fortunate that I am able to have one on one sessions with someone of Asuka's caliber."

It is always exciting when a vocal student is ready to start studying his or her first operatic aria! One of the best things about being a classical singer is knowing you have so many great years ahead of you. After all, you’re considered in your prime in your 40s. That being said, realize that the voice you have now and the repertoire you’ll first study will be very, very different from what you sing later on in your career. It’s absolutely crucial that you sing repertoire that is …
